Part 02
“Come on! Lets get going or else Riku and Kairi might think something had happened to us!” I said with a smile. As I turned toward the boat, I heard Sora snicker.
I turned toward him. “What is it?” I asked. He looked at me with a grin on his face. “Don’t you mean that RIKU would get worried?” he said with a smirk. My face went red by that comment. “Uh. No… w-why would I think that?” I turned away from Sora so he wouldn’t see my expression. I did like Riku, but it was more than just like him. I’d always get a warm feeling when I’m around him. It always feel like, like I’m protected. We both share the same feelings for each other, but neither of us had had the courage to say something to one another. It’s kind of funny since we had kept this up for… well, for as long as I could remember him. I looked toward Sora again who seemed to have spaced out due to long pause. I gave him a benign smile. He had know that secret for a while now and kept his promise of not interfering. I don’t know why I told him not to tell anyone since almost everyone on island already knew. But I guess, I just didn’t want it spreading any more than it already did. “Hey Sora?” I said to him. He looked up at me. “Yeh what is it?” he asked. “Don’t you think it’s time for us to get going before the sun sets?” I said grinning. He looked at me awkwardly as if he didn’t know what I said but then jumped up with a shocked face. “Oh yeh! I forgot!!” He ran past me toward the boats the turned back. “You coming or what?” I laughed then ran toward him.
It had been about twenty minutes before we had reached Destiny Island. Sora and I slowly climbed onto the dock. We both had been out of breath from trying to race each other to the island. When we finally climbed onto the dock, we collapsed. “I think that’s a tie.” I breathing heavily. “No, I think I won that one.” Sora replied. I gave him a small kick and we both laughed. “Finally. You guys are late.” A voice said. We both looked up. There, standing above us was Riku and Kairi. I glanced over at Riku. He must of caught my stare and smiled down at me. At first I was motionless, but then I realized that it had been Riku hovering above me. I quickly jumped up. I could feel my face going red. “H-hi Riku.” I said nervously. He chuckled and greeted me back. “Sora, were you two racing again?” Kairi asked giving Sora a suspicious look. “Maybe.” Sora said with a huge smile on his face. “We’re not late are we?” he then asked.
“Nope.” Kairi replied while walking closer toward the edge of the dock. The she
turned and looked back at us. “You’re just in time to help with the boat.” “WHAT?!” Sora yelled jumping up. “B-but you said we were going to play!!” he whined. “I only said that because I knew you wouldn’t come if I told you we were going to work.” she said. “It was the only way to get you here.” she sighed.
“That’s not fair!” exclaimed Sora.
“Well, would you have came if I told you we were working?!” Kairi yelled back.
“Yes.. No.. Look! That’s not the point!”
“See? That’s what I mean!”
Riku and I laughed as the two bickered on. “They’re just like a married old couple aren’t they?” Riku said laughing. I looked at his smile and nodded. He always did make me feel warm inside when he smiled.
