Way of the Samurai
Uhh, it's a game... I'm not, like, pledging my life to the samurai or anything... lol.

It's a great game that came out for the PS2, and it's actualy very realistic. Though the game is only about two hours long, depending on how much you wander around, you play it over and over again, gettign a different out-come depending on what you do and say. The battle sytem is slightly complicated, but very fun, and mostly realistic.

Go get it... NOW!! lol...

OK... I'm bored, so I'm gonna be really nice and take a gruelingly long time to post some Edgar Allan Poe poetry... I'm that nice! ^^

Sonnet To Zante:

Fair isle, that from the fairest of all flowers,
Thy gentlest of all names dost take!
How many memories of what radiant hours
At sign of thee and thine at once awake!
How many scenes of what departed bliss!
How many thoughts of what intombed hopes!
How many visions of a maiden that is
No more- no more upon thy verdant slopes!
No more! Alas, that magical sad sound
Transforming all! Thy charms shall please no more-
Thy memory no more! Accursed ground
Henceforth I hold thy flower-enamelled shore,
O hyacynthine isle! O purple Zante!
"Isola d'oro! Fior di Levante!"

There ya goes... *sigh*

Quothe the raven... 'Nevermore'.
Yes, the infamous line from Edgar Allan Poe's work of poetical genious, "The Raven". I have only found recently how much Poe's work fascinates me... his outlook on everything, escpeialy death, is so defiently warped, one cannot help but be sucked into it's, for lack of a more gratifying word, finesse.

To truly understand how Edgar became so... er, "warped", then you have to take a look at his life. When he was very, very young, his father left his mother, and perhaps several years later, his mother caught Tuburculosis(sp?), wich, if you don't know, ruptures an artery near your lunges, and causes you to caigh up blood until you die. Young Edgar witnessed this. He was eventualy taken in by the Allan family (hence Edgar ALLAN Poe) and taught to be a gentlemen, and was very well educated.. despite his new "father" rather disliking him. Later, his new mother also died of tuburculosis. Of course, Mr. Allan really didn't want anything to do with Edgar, so he sent him away to a crummy, violent university. Though now becoming an artist and an excellent story-writer, he was in a financial crisis. His father had given him only enough money to get there, and nothing more. Eventually, he had to go live with his aunt, and his eight year old cousin. Now get this... he falls in love with his cousin, who may have aged a little now, but is still under thirteen, and... she dies of tuburculosis. Three wemon he loved (two as a mother, one as a cousin and love) had now died, his young cousin being the slowest... over the course of several years, if I remember correctly, she got better, then worse, and so on. Not to mention he's had two fathers dis-own him... there are several other events in Poe's life, but they are to numerous for me to type in.

Now it's easier to understand why so much of his work focussed on death and torture. His poetry and stories were constantly debating within themselves on the subject of what really happens in death, and many other delicate, complicated subjects.

Until another time, "Quothe the raven, 'Nevermore'".

Wicca--for the benefit of a friend
To start off, I would like to say that I do not actualy participate in Wicca, but a close friend of mine does, so I thought I'd just make a post on it... for the heck of it...

Alright, Wicca... a religion. It is described as "Modern day witches" "Neopagan" and many other things. Let's start with the word Neopagan.

AS you may know, "pagan" has many different meanings, some of them not very nice ones. However, being pagan, or in Wicca's case, neopagan, does not in any way mean that they are "evil" or "satanists". Wich brings me to another point.

Wiccans are in no way satanists. They don't even believe in a pure-evil being like satan. There is really only one similarity between Wicca and Satanism, wich is, they both practice "magick" (yes, spelled with a "k"). However, Satanists use magick in all sorts of ways wich could be desrcibed as evil, but Wiccans only use non-manipulative, "good" magick.

Now, there are several different types of Wicca, wich can be classified into four groups. 1) Monotheistic 2) Bitheistic 3) Polytheistic and 4) Aetheisic. Monotheistic Wiccans believe in one God, that represents his/her self in two different forms, much like the Christian Trinity (father, son, and holy spirit). Bitheistic Wiccans believe in two Gods... well, one of them is actualy a Goddess. Polytheistic Wiccans may believe in numerous Celtic Gods. Aetheistic Wiccans don't technicaly believe in a God, but more use Gods as symbols... er, it's hard to explain, and I don't actualy know any details.

Well, I hope you've all been enlightened a little bit, and just so you know, I got all of this information off of a Wiccan-oriented website, the name of wich I cannot remember.

PS: You're silly, Swordmaster, because... umm... crap, I forgot...

The Giver
We were forced to read "the Giver" in my language arts class, and I despise assigned reading, but I actualy really got into Giver.

It's a story about a perfect society.. everything is the same. All children are borught up the same way, there are no colors except for black and white, there are no more races because everyone is cocasian, and everyone's eyes, except for a rare few, are the same color.

Obviously, this doesn't work out to great. And there is one person in each generation that keeps all the painful, non-same memories inside his/her head. The Reciever of Memory. When one Reviever is near dying, a new one is chosen and the memories are transmitted. The story is about the next Reciever, Jonas, and his eventual plot to bring pain, color, and most of all, emotions back to society.

Very fascinating book.

PS: Swordmaster13, you're so silly...

Mystery Science Thetre 3000
So, how many of you guys have seen this how? Ever? Well, if ya haven't it's an incredibly funny show... the plot isn't realy important, but if you want to know, this guy who works for some silly sorperation gets sent into space by his boss, but the worst part is, his boss send him the oldest, crappiest movies he can find... the best part is, they (The guy and two robots, Servo and Crow) make fun of them!!

Yes, the whole show (almost the whole thing) is devoted to making fun of old movies. And they do such a good job of it! Just when you think you'll stop laughing, they make a remark that has you on the floor!

Add a comment if you've seen the show, and tell me what you think of it!

   the BEATLES!!
Alright, so if you don't know already, I AM A BEATLES NUT!! You can even listen to Beatles melodies on my MIDI player below the pic... I'll be switching songs every now-and-then, but currently it's Strawberry Fields Forever, one of my favorites.

The Beatles were more than just a band... they revolutionized pop/rock as we know it. I'll even quote from a book... "Every one of their songs either tested or redrew the limits of pop sensibility". Ain't that somethin? Even though most of them are dead, their music, as you well know, is STILL listened to through-out America and England alike. I only wish I could visit Liverpool, and see Penny Lane, and Strawberry Fields (yes, it's a real garden), and maybe even Abbey Road... but anyway, there ya have it... my dreams of going to England to see a 60's pop/rock band's hometown... right.

See you in the after-life~ F.P.727
