Here's a poem I wrote last night before I fell asleep. I know it still needs a little tweaking but anyway here it is:

My Silent Night

In the silent night
I lie awake
listening to the eerie stillness of the dark.
As I gaze out my window
into the starry heavens
I drown in my deep longing
to hold you close.
My heart weakens as it aches for your touch,
your voice,
your loving gaze.
Yet despite the distance
over all those miles
I feel the warmth of your love
a flame that will continue to burn
beyond eternity
The river of emotion
slowly closes my haevy eyes
and puts my tired body to rest.
Amd I continue to dream...
of you...
and our times together...
on another silent night...
