Two Henrico teens are fighting to stay alive following a weekend car crash that killed two of their classmates. 14-year-old Heather Moorefield and 15-year-old Robert Snead were killed when the car they were in was broad sided at Gaskins and Quioccasin Roads early Saturday morning. Police say another 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy who were also in the car remain in critical condition.

On Sunday afternoon, fellow Godwin students held a memorial at the accident scene.

Nearly 100 Godwin High school students gathered to grieve for the two classmates they lost - Heather Moorefield and Robert Snead - and to pray for the two classmates still fighting for their lives at the hospital.

"I told them I loved them and I wanted them to get better."

As they struggle with the pain, expressing it through flowers and cards, they find a tremendous amount of comfort and strength in each other...

"We're just trying to be with our friends when they need us and stuff."

These freshmen aren't just dealing with the loss of their friends, they're also kids who, perhaps for the first time, are realizing their own mortality...

"I never thought it could happen to us...i don't know..."

"It just seems like none of it is real like its all going to be okay and we're going to see them at school."

But they say they'll get through it with the help of each other. Henrico Schools tell 8News there will be grief counselors at Godwin High School for both students and teachers Monday.
