The End of Tennis Season

So, this year, I decided to try a fall sport since last year I wasn't in any. I decided to give tennis a shot. I had some friends who were in the tennis team last year, so I thought tennis would be pretty fun. I've never played tennis before, so I thought the chance of me traveling or at least making the top four in the girl's ladder would be very slim. Luckily for me, a lot of people who joined were new to tennis too. We only had four returnees: Kristia, Adrian, Jemari, and Jhan.

But anyways, like most people who've never really played tennis, it seemed to be an easy sport to pick up. Just hit the ball when it gets to you, yeah sure. In the beginning, I couldn't hit the ball without having it go out of the court. Eventually, the more practice I had, the more I got the hang of things. And guess what? I made number 4 in the girl's ladder.

So yeah, we had a pretty normal tennis season. Kristia almost had a perfect record, with the exception of her loss to Osaka's number 1 girl. Kristia and Jemari also finished the season undefeated in doubles. Adrian ended up taking the number 1 spot for boys from Jhan, the only senior (with the exception of the other senior John who had to quit). Leif and Fernando were a really good doubles team, especially if it was their first year playing tennis. They made it to the semi-finals for the boys' doubles tournament in Far East.

We also got pretty close with Kinnick's tennis team (Yakiniku anyone? ). They're really friendly people, so it was easy to get along with them. I wonder what'll happen to their tennis team next year since almost their entire team consists of seniors.

And Far East in Guam...wow. It was my first time going to Guam, and it was a pretty awesome first-time experience. The food was great! (I totally killed that food at the Jamaican Grill ). I was amazed when I saw other people from other schools play. It made me want to continue playing. Maybe I'll join the tennis team in Lincoln High when I move to Stockton... Kinda made me sad though. As much as I'd like to come back to Far East in Guam, I know it's not possible. Once this school year's over, we'll finally be leaving Japan. To anyone who will be at Far East Tennis next year, I wish you the best of luck.

   Off to Guam

Well, tomorrow, the tennis team will leave for Guam. At Guam, the Far East Tennis Tournament will take place. We'll be staying there for a week. I'm pretty excited, because I've never been to Guam before. I'm also sorta nervous; I hope I do well in Tennis.

Aside from Tennis, I hear that there are a lot of good restaurants near the hotel we're staying at. They have TGIF, Hard Rock Cafe, the list goes on! I've never even heard of some of these restaurants, but my friends say they're really good ^_^

I should start packing now...^^;
