Prologue
My name is Shia Ashakira. On my journey through worlds I encountered many wonderful, exciting, and even disturbing things. I met many nice and kind people and even bad ones too. I’ve even fallen in love. Throughout my story you will meet characters who may look the same but aren’t the same.
As my friend Yuko says: “People you know, people you’ve met on your world, they’ve developed under completely different conditions on other worlds. You may meet different versions of the same person time after time on different worlds. And just because that person is nice to you on one world doesn’t mean you will find an ally on the next.”
I know you want to read how my adventures go so now…I will allow “Truths that Hide” unravel itself.
Chapter One
The roses—I love that smell. Admire that smell. I had a garden full of different kinds of roses. Even the black rose grew in my garden, swirling about the pine tree, making it so the pine needles transformed into black roses. Irises, tulips, daffodils, and many other kinds of flowers sprouted from the lush green grounds. I was happy to call it my garden as I walked along the stony pathway.
I plucked herbs from the ground for my new spell. I was known as the Dark Witch, for my dark and ‘wicked’ ways. But my garden…well let’s just say people didn’t expect that from me very much.
Mara, a seven year old and a member of the ‘inside’ of town, came trotting up, strangers following her. One was of orange, brown, maybe even blonde hair and jaded green eyes. She had a lonely expression. A young boy, about a couple or more inches taller than the girl, guarded her, as if knowing something bad was going to happen. He had amber eyes and brown ruffled hair. He wore a dark green-brown cape and had on a black sleeveless turtleneck shirt, a dark green or blue colored pants, brown gloves and working boots. Goggles hung around his neck.
A taller, muscular man with short black hair and deep red eyes walked behind them. He was the tallest of the group. A blonde-haired, blue-eyed cutie walked beside the taller man. The blue-eyed one was about a foot shorter than the red-eyed man and taller than the amber-eyed boy and the jaded eyed girl.
He held something I recognized. I instantly knew that they had come. I smiled. The white, furry, long eared creature in his arms had a gold earring with a red ball dangling from it on its right ear and a large round, red crystal in the middle of its forehead.
I stood up. My black dress was stained with dirt. The long sleeves had patches of green and yellow.
“Shia, Shia!!!” exclaimed the excited seven year old. “Come here!!” I chanted a quick spell that removed stains and I walked over to Mara and her newfound friends.
“Mara, what have I told you about strangers?” I picked up the seven year old and stared at the travelers.
“They came from the sky!” she exclaimed again. I scolded her for such nonsense but couldn’t help but smile as I rushed her inside.
“State your names.” I said already knowing them.
“I’m Fai,” the blonde one replied. I stared into his blue eyes. They reminded me of a jewel. I smiled and turned to the others.
“I am Syaoran and this is her highness, Princess Sakura.”
“It’s nice to meet you,” Sakura-Chan said.
“Likewise princess.” I replied.
“This is Kuro-Puu and—” he was cut off by the big burly man.
“WHAT THE HELL HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT THOSE NICKNAMES?! IT”S KUROGANE! KUR-O-GANE!” I stepped away holding back a smile.
The white creature called out. “Kyah! Kuro-Chi’s scary!!” I plucked the white creature out of Fai-San’s arms and it stared up at me. Its eyes went wide and it smiled big.
“Shia! Shia! Shia! Shia! SHIAAAAAAA!” the white creature was overly excited. I smiled and looked at Kurogane-San.
He grumbled as I spoke. “Please do not yell. This is a peaceful country” I smiled and mumbled softly. “Or should I say world?”
I then turned to the others and lowered my head. “My name is Shia Ashakira.” I looked down at the white creature, otherwise known as Mokona. “I see you met Ichihara-San.” I pinched his cheek gently. He began to sing and I sat him down.
Fai-San smiled. “Yup.” He always smiled. Why? No one would probably ever know.
“The Time Space Witch?” asked Kurogane-San glaring at Mokona who had taken a seat on his shoulder.
“She goes by that. She goes by a lot of things.” I replied.
“Do you know of a medicine keeper?” asked Fai-San raising his hand.
I outstretched my arms. “I am the only one in this town.” This just made him smile more.
“We need something for this boy’s wound.” He waved a hand towards Syaoran-Kun.
I picked up a bottle. I shook my head and looked at him. “Magic should only be used by those who know it well.” I poured the liquid on his wound.
“I advise you not to play with magic as a young child would not play with swords.”
The liquid was healing alcohol. Although he showed no I sign of pain, I could tell it burned his wound.
“You are strong.” I said touching his forehead. “Yuko has told me about you four.” I picked up Mokona and held him close.
“You are traveling to all worlds in order to return Sakura-Chan’s memory to her.” I looked at Syaoran-Kun and leaned in close to him. “Tell me young one…how does it feel? How does it feel to lose the one you love?”
I could see a shocked look cloud over his eyes. He did not reply.
I simply just smiled.
“I am known as the Dark Witch here. I am a friend of Yuko’s.” I waved my hand about them. “You are safe; here no one will hurt you. Kyanne Country has its ways of protecting one. Do not harm it and it will not harm you.”
“Catchy logo.” Kurogane-San said mumbling.
“Yes, I like it too. I find it rather…” I stopped searching for the right word, “suitable for the Kyannians Country.” I smiled, however he was not amused.
I looked from Syaoran-Kun to Sakura-Chan. I took her by the arm. “Walk with me.” I smiled making her smile to.
Syaoran-Kun didn’t seem so pleased.
I held up my hand. “She is safe with me.” We walked until we reached the rose part of the garden.
“Kyaa! It’s so…so beautiful!!” she was truly amazed.
“Do you not have anything like this in the Country of Clow?”
“Well…sorta. I mean, it isn’t near as wonderful as this but we have a garden” she said. “Clow is a desert country. Well…or so I remember. We’ve traveled for so long and…” she trailed off.
I walked forward looking into the pond. Golden fish swam around. “I talk to Yuko through this. Yuko is an excellent witch.”
I looked at her. “You do know that by coming here, this was no accident?”
She was confused. I would be to if a strange person told me I went someplace not because we were planning on going there but because we had to go there.
“You see…I’ve lost something of rather rare importance to me. I would travel but you know how Yuko is.” I sighed. “There for I was one day hoping you would land here, in Kyanne Country.” I smiled. “My prayers were answered.”
“But you said so yourself that even you don’t know where we land and where we land is not accidental.” A smart girl.
“Yes, you’re right. But…you see…it’s not something you can hold or conquer…” I looked at her. She seemed confused. I just smiled. I looked at the sun. It was heading over the horizon to sleep.
“Well then, you’d better get some sleep. We will talk more in the morning. As of now…” I stood up walking away. “As of now, we will not discuss this with anyone else.” She obviously knew I was hiding something.
I smiled.
She flinched.
“We must return to the others.” I finally said. I closed my eyes and walked onward leaving her there.
Chapter 2
It was 7 AM when I awoke to the sound of the door opening. I put on my robe and walked out of my room. “I suggest you stop where you are Fai-San.”
He stopped and turned around. He had that grin on his face. “Ms. Shia-Chan. Sorry to have awoken you, I was just going out for fresh air.”
“Then allow me to accompany you.” I opened the front door wider and walked out into the morning air. I sighed, smiled and walked forward to my garden.
“You have much strength Fai-San.” I said. “You are a magician are you not?”
“How did you know?” he asked.
“I know all, see all, and tell all what they wish to know. You wish to know if the one you are hiding from is going to break free of his prison…am I right?”
His smile dropped. I grinned.
“Do you? Do you wish to know?” I looked at him slowly, seeing the fear in his eyes.
“Who are you really Ms. Shia-Chan?” he was obviously not thrilled.
“Is that what you wish to know?” I smirked. He grimaced and nodded. “Very well.”
“I am but among others. I am the Dark Witch and I am feared. My only true companions are Mara and Smokey, my grey feline.”
“So you aren’t alone?”
“You could say that.” I looked at the ground. “I came to this…world in hopes of finding what I lost. I was never able to travel again for my magic ran out. And I was running out of energy to conjure up a gift for Yuko in order to travel again.”
“Out of energy?” he was confused.
“You see Mr. Fai-San; I am not just the mere Dark Witch. I am a demon. A vampire. I need blood.” He stepped back.
“Don’t worry; I won’t feed unless offered to me. I didn’t tell anyone my true identity here because these people have offered many great gifts to me, all that I was grateful for but did not need.”
“So you’re dying?”
“I am.” I looked at the sky and could still see one lingering star still there.
“Why did you tell me this?”
“You wished to know, so now you know. It’s sad really. I’m dying and I haven’t found what I set out to look for.”
“What are you looking for?” for a wizard he sure asked a lot of questions.
I just smiled. “You know enough. Too much information might get you killed.” I winked. He just laughed.
Fai’s Point Of View
Shia-Chan is someone strange, and unlikely to ever even live here. There’s something about her though that makes her interesting. A witched vampire demon. I never thought it possible.
But what could she be looking for? She was a confusing girl and an extraordinary witch.
I gazed at the sky. It was almost eight. Or so she said. Breakfast needed to be made and we walked back into the house to find Mokona searching for food.
Shia picked him up and gave him an apple. His expression told me he wasn’t happy with what he got and she began to make breakfast for all of us.
“Fai, can you find me a pan? There should be one in the bottom drawer.” I opened the drawer and a gray cat popped out at me. I jumped back. Shia-Chan laughed.
“Smokey, come out of there.” She obviously knew him. Who was she? She was strange that’s all I could say. There’s something…different about you Shia-Chan. I was distracted.
“Fai-San?” I snapped back into reality.
“Ugh, sorry Shia-Chan.” I handed her the pan and she went about making us food.
Smiling I walked to where Mokona was complaining. Picking him up, I said. “Come on Mokona, Shia-Chan is making us food. Be considerate and stop whining.” I could see a smile form on her face. I grinned.
Mokona laughed. “Someone’s crushing on Shia-Chan!!” I squeezed Mokona and left. Shia laughed and continued to make breakfast.
“Such funny travelers now-a-days.” I heard her say before leaving the room. I chuckled still squeezing Mokona.
“Let…let—let me go!!” he wheezed. I dropped him.
“Sorry Mokona!!”
“Blinded by love,” he shook his head. I just stood there.
“No, just blinded by the fact that Shia-Chan is not human.”
Shia’s Point Of View
I grinned as I watched Fai-San become more and more aware of the fact that I wasn’t who I appeared to be. This could get interesting. I thought. Really interesting.
Chapter 3
Still Shia’s Point Of View
Something was wrong. Mara—my assistant, well basically—hadn’t arrived for the day. I became strangely aware that I was worried about her. After all the many times I told her to get lost, it would seem that I hated her. But now…I cared about her.
I finished serving my guests and walked outside. Smokey followed.
“Mara?!” I called out. No answer. Oh Mara where are you?! I thought gloomily.
I heard something in the bushes. A rustle—a moan. Running I ran down the pathway to where I heard it. Peeking through the bushes I found Mara, blood covered her everywhere and she was bruised all over. I screamed—well not really so much as screamed more of it was a…bloody murder scream. “MARA!!”
I knelt beside her. “What did you do Mara? What in God’s name did you do?!”
By then the dark man—Kurogane—came running out with a sword.
“Mara…you did it didn’t you? You tried to sacrifice yourself to bring you mamma back.” I held the child close. Chanting a spell I put a shield around me, Mara, and the walkway we sat on. Kurogane ran right into it. “WHAT THE HELL?!” he screamed.
I then made it impossible for anyone to see what I was doing—except Fai.
I bit into the girl’s neck, giving her blood. Her body seemed to heal and the bruises went away. The White Soul Killer must have done that. Chanting again I brought Mara to full conscience.
I undid the spells I had once cast and everyone seemed to shock to do anything. I stood up weakly, leaving Mokona with Mara. “Stay with her.”
I walked away—more struggling to walk than actually walking. I could feel Fai’s eyes on the back of my head. Sympathy filled him. Sending him a mental note: I do not need your pity Mr. Fai-San. I snapped at him and he staggered backwards, staring at me in shock.
I was dying. And I hadn’t found what I was looking for. I might never in fact. I might just die here, in Kyanne Country. I could not, would not, die here. I had…unfinished business.
Fai’s Point Of View
She’s strange. What goes on in that witchy head of hers, I’ll never know. She’s powerful. I can normally block mental messages or anybody who tries to seep into my mind. But not her. Her mental note came at me like Kurogane’s sword. I do not need your pity Mr. Fai-San. I do not know weather to gaze at her in awe or run from her in fear.
Such a wonderful creature she is. I need to find more about her. Perhaps a villager would know?
I kept wondering all day about her. She was just…I don’t know, but she wasn’t normal. I walked all day and couldn’t find a villager willing to talk about her. I was frustrated and was soon ready to give up. What had she said to these people?
I stumbled upon a young man—near 20’s maybe 30’s—walking down the sidewalk. I stopped him and he agreed to tell me more about the Dark Witch.
“It all started just four years ago. She was twelve then. Traveling alone I guess. No one had really seemed to follow her.” he walked into his house, inviting me in. “I was just married when I met her and I went to ask her for advice. She told me to go to the red brick house.” he walked into the kitchen and paused for a moment.
“I found my wife cheating on me.”
I stood there staring at him. Would he really tell me what I needed to know?
“Some say she’s looking for her lost one. No one knows what—or whom—it might be. She doesn’t talk to us unless we ask her.” Bingo.
“So if I ask her what she’s looking for…do you think she’ll tell me?”
“I highly doubt that, the Dark Witch is a powerful witch.” Not anymore. I thought smugly.
“Mara, she’s my neighbor’s daughter. They try to warn her to stay away from the Dark Witch. They say she is going to turn Mara into the next Dark Witch after she leaves.”
“Ms. Ashakira seemed rather…lonely. Perhaps she is teaching Mara. But only in the values of friendship and love.” I stated glaring at him. I could not understand why I was so…irritated with this man.
“Ms. Ashakira?” he evidently didn’t know her name. He grinned. “And what is her first name?” I didn’t know if I should tell him.
“Ms. Shia Ashakira.” His face had fallen. I looked at him. He told me to leave.
“Sir, please. Tell me what Shia-Chan is hiding!” he grabbed the collar of my shirt.
“If you expect to live you will leave Ms. Asha—the Dark Witches—house immediately!!!”
I walked out more confused then ever. I didn’t know what the man was talking about. But I could tell he was terrified of Ms. Shia.
I walked home.
Shia’s Point Of View
I had just come home from inside the town. I was mad, madder than the burning flames of hell that arose when someone new entered. I was pissed.
I stumbled through the door, some of my energy returning—mostly decreasing.
I slapped Fai-San. “How dare you!!” I screamed. “How could you tell them my name!!!” Syaoran-Kun, Sakura-Chan, Kurogane-San, and Mokono were watching shocked.
Fai-San looked at me. “…I did not know it was not allowed Ms. Ashakira.” I stared at him dumbfounded.
“You do not realize the pain you have inflicted not only on me, but you as well!” I stormed into my room slamming my door shut.
Now they would know. Now they would know I was one of them.
How could this happen?! Damn you Fai. Damn you to hell!
I sat at my window. I had seen flyers in the town with my picture painted on it and my name, my real name, Shia Ashakira.
It’s my name. The name they would recognize me by. Shia Ashakira. Damn it Fai! Why the hell did you have to ask those villagers about me?!
I stepped out the door to the kitchen. Only Syaoran was there. I looked at him with such a look you could tell I was suffering.
“Ms. Ashakira? Are you okay?” Awe, a concerned boy. I put my hand to his forehead.
“Many hardships wait for you and…the one you care about the most.” He stared at me—more of a ‘glare stare’. I could tell he had suffered already.
“Ms. Sakura-Chan, you would do anything for her would you not?”
He nodded. “I would. I am trying to retrieve her memories. But so far Mokona hasn’t detected a feather yet.”
“Yes, Yuko told me all about you four, I already know Mokona.” Syaoran-Kun did not seem comfortable talking to me. I was hurt. I was alone once again. When Mara saw me for who I really was she left, never coming back.
I hadn’t seen Smokey in awhile either. Perhaps he left as well. “You do not trust me do you? After what went on I do not blame you.”
“We must be going soon.” He said.
“Yes, you should leave now.” He nodded.
“Thank you for your hospitality.” He bowed. Bowed. Oh how I hated—no despised—the bowing.
Mokona, Fai-San, Kurogane-San, Sakura-Chan, and Syaoran-Kun were ready to go by the time I was ready to say goodbye.
I hugged Mokona and then I went to Sakura taking her hand and pulling her close. I whispered softly. “The one who cares about you is the one you will be with.” She was confused but I let her go and walked to the door.
I gave Fai-San a look and he looked at me with sympathy. Take care. I said to him. Then aloud. “Take care, all of you.”
I closed the door behind them as they left.
I walked to the window. Suddenly a pain shot through me with such force I screamed.
Clutching my chest I fell to the floor. No, not now! Please no!!
The last thing I saw was seeing my cat, Smokey, chasing a mouse.
Chapter 4
Fai’s Point Of View
We walked, heading to town. Mokona said he sensed something strange in that direction. I had come from there a few hours earlier and we now were going back. We had only been here for about two days and we now didn’t have a place to stay.
We were all so hungry. Mokona complained the most and Kurogane lost his temper. There were posters everywhere. With Shia-Chan’s picture on them and words saying monster, traitor, and all sorts of profanity.
I ripped down one. I then began to rip down more. I was angry for what people were saying. Shia-Chan wasn’t a bad person. She never did any harm to anyone. She had given life to Mara. Not taken it away. Why couldn’t people see this? I turned around and walked in another direction.
“Fai-San, The Town Hall is that way,” Syaoran-Kun said.
“He wants to see Shia-Chan one last time!” exclaimed Mokona, who was on top of Kurogane’s shoulder. Yes, I do. I thought solemnly. I began to run, faster than I had before. I have to find out what really happened to Shia-Chan!
I had finally arrived at Shia’s place. After five miles of running, I still wasn’t tired. I pounded on the door. “Shia-Chan! Shia-Chan, open up! We need to talk!” I pounded harder and then finally walked to the garden.
I remembered seeing a window and I looked through it. I saw Shia-Chan there on the floor passed out. I pounded hard. “SHIA!! SHIA, WAKE UP!!”
A black-purple whirl of smoke clouded around her as a body began to emerge. A shadowed figure stood, hovering over Shia-Chan and picking her up. “SHIA!!” I called out again. The figure turned and looked at me. A man in a sleeveless black turtleneck and black pants with a sign on a belt. An unfamiliar sign.
His grin made me shudder as he looked down at Shia. That grin. THE grin. I recognized it from someplace but I couldn’t recall where.
I stared at him as he began to disappear with Shia. I called out again. “Damn it Shia! WAKE UP!!”
Her eyes flew open. She stared at the man with a look of fascination.
Shia’s Point Of View
I looked at the man. He was a young one but a little older than me. About eighteen. I stared at him. He was handsome and he smiled down at me as if to tell me everything would be okay.
His dark purple hair and dark purple eyes made me shudder with fear yet sigh in wonder. His smile was dark and mysterious. I couldn’t help but smile back.
He put his neck to my lips as if begging me to bite into him. I looked at him and he just nodded. Slowly I sank my fangs into his neck.
After what seemed forever I pulled away and he seemed perfectly fine. They all do actually, to hide that they aren’t really fine. He gently put me down. “Are you okay?” I asked touching his cheek. He looked at me and grinned again.
His voice was magical. “Yes. The truth, I swear.” I smiled.
“Thank you,” I finally said. His blood is not enough to keep me alive. I looked at him. “Who are you? How did you know I was in trouble?”
“My name is Dark. And I didn’t. I arrived here just shortly, not even knowing where I was going. I seen you and just picked you up.” he replied. “I recognized at once you needed blood.”
“How?”
“You were pale and had sharp fangs.” He smirked. I laughed.
Suddenly Fai-San burst through the window. I jumped ten feet in the air and came back down with a thud. “WHAT THE HELL?!” I screamed.
“Sorry,” he said. His eyes slit to a glare and he looked at Dark.
“Get out!” I shouted at him. I was angry. One: he broke my window and two: I wanted to get to know Dark.
“Shia, wait! We have to talk.” He said taking me by the shoulders.
“You betrayed me. AND you broke my window. GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE!” I screamed again. He looked at me with sadness in his eyes but I looked away avoiding them
“Shia, I’m sorry.” He said. He touched my face. I slapped him. Hard.
“Don’t touch me.” I glared at him. Dark just stood there with that smirk on his face.
Fai was even more hurt. “I’ll leave,” he stayed for a moment, hoping I’d change my answer but finally left.
I looked up at Dark.
“Lovers quarrel?” he asked. My jaw dropped open.
“With Mr. Fai?! NO!!” I looked at him shocked. I started to say again, “Me meaning by he betrayed me means he went out and told somebody who I really was. I only met him a few days ago.”
Another smile was on his face. “So you’re Shia?”
I nodded. “What kind of name is that?” he asked stupidly.
I stared at him and laughed. “Well what kind of name is Dark?” I mocked. He looked at me with this half smile half frown look.
I gave him another smile and walked to the stove. I screamed as an eight legged thing crawled over the top. Dark was now laughing hysterically and making fun of me. I gave him a look and then through the spider on him, watching his face fall.
He started cursing and tried to find the black spider that blended in with his clothes. I laughed. He did too.
I turned my back on him and worked at the stove turning all the buttons off.
My head started to throb and I closed my eyes fighting the pain.
“Something isn’t right,” I whispered. I crumpled to my knees and fell, once again, into blackness.
Chapter 5
Fai’s Point Of View
“Damn that Shia!” I exclaimed. I looked at the group. I had just met back up with them. I hadn’t told them what had occurred yet. Kurogane looked at me and I glared back at him. Laughing he said, “Get into another fight?” I turned and glared at the road. I saw the man. I slit my eyes and rand forward. “YOU!” the guy turned and at once, after recognizing me, began to run. I charged after him. Jumping high in the air, I came down on his back. He cursed wildly.
“Why didn’t you tell me Shia-Chan was a bad person known here? I wouldn’t have told you!” I yelled in his ear.
“You don’t understand you’re just a traveler!” he yelled back.
“Then make me understand.” I stood up and he did too.
“Very well, follow me.” I beckoned for the rest to come too and we followed after the man.
“My name is Kyo and I am a historian. I study the past, artifacts of the past, and so on.”
“I’m Fai and you better tell us what you know.” He brought out a big book. It was based off of darkness, witches, warlocks, demons, vampires, and other creatures.
“Long ago, before darkness overcame the light there was a being of great good. It took one creature to destroy the great good and that was the Princess of Darkness. Shia is the ancestor of that princess, therefore inherited all of the powers of the great good that were taken by the darkness and the princess’s powers.” He stopped and sighed.
“But that doesn’t mean Shia-Chan is a bad person!” I said. All of a sudden Mokona’s eyes grew wide and his mouth popped open.
“I sense a feather!” Syaoran grabbed Mokona and the two ran out the door, the rest of us following. We left Kyo confused.
I saw Shia-Chan slowly walking down the road, her head tilted to the sky.
“Shia-Chan has it Syaoran! I don’t know why I didn’t sense it!” he frowned and Syaoran was ready to run after Shia-Chan when I stopped him.
“Wait…” I said. I saw Dark on a roof and smirking down at her. Shia-Chan turned her head to face us. A dark look clouded over her eyes and she seemed in a trance.
“Something’s wrong with Shia-Chan!” Mokona cried. “She’s not herself, it’s like she’s in a trance!”
Tears escaped from Shia’s eyes and I could tell she was in pain. She stared at me, as if hoping I would save her from Dark. I walked forward, Kurogane trying to stop me.
“Let me go.” I glared at him.
“It could be a trap to lure you in Fai,” he said. I was in utter shock. I closed my eyes.
“She’s in pain. She needs me.” I shook my head. “Let me go…now.” He loosened his grip and I ran towards Shia. She collapsed in my arms, still in her trance. I stared up at Dark.
“What did you do?!” I called out.
“I’m bringing back The Princess of Darkness. She will be my queen.” He said.
“Fai…” Shia mumbled. “Go…save yourself. Leave me…” I looked down at her.
“Shia-Chan…” her eyes turned black and her back arched.
“HYAA!!!!!!!!!!!” she screamed in pain.
“Shia-Chan!!” giant black wings began to sprout from her back and we were lifted to the sky.
“Fai-San…” I looked at her, she still wasn’t her self and it was hurting me to see her in so much pain. My eye caught something and I saw Sakura-Chan’s feather lodged in one of her black wings. Is that the source? I thought. I reached for it but it was shielded by some spell.
I glared up at Dark. “You used her you despicable human!”
“I am not human Mr. Fai.” He grinned with pleasure and I let go of Shia-Chan, jumping onto the roof Dark was on.
“Let her go, she’s good. She doesn’t deserve this.” I said.
“But you see: I need her power to control the worlds.” I kicked my foot up getting ready to fight him. He grabbed my leg and twisted it. I was turned in the air and landed on my behind.
“You’d better give up while you can,” he said.
“Never.” I had to find some way to save Shia-Chan.
“If I can’t win against you then…I’ll win against Shia-Chan.” Shia-Chan was far from the roof by now. I ran to the edge to get a running start and I leaped high into the air grabbing Shia-Chan’s hand. We were both tugged downward a little with my added weight but we stayed in mid-air.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” I heard Kurogane yell.
“Saving Shia-Chan from herself!” I yelled back. I winced and called out in pain as Dark shot me with something. I looked down and saw an arrow sticking out of my leg.
“T-that hurt…” I said. Dark grinned.
“Good.” He replied. “Maybe next time you’ll learn not to interfere with my plans.”
“Shia-Chan doesn’t deserve this!” I was slipping from the hold I had on her. I grabbed her shoulder and pulled her down towards me to where I could put my arms around her. “I’ll protect you Shia…I’ll protect you…” I reached for the feather again. My hand was shot back because of the spell.
Closing my eyes, I thrust my hand through the shield. I clutched the feather, my hand on fire. I pulled it out and clutched it and Shia against me.
“I said I would protect you Shia-Chan. Let me be the one to guide you,” I saw tears fly from her face as the black wings disappeared. I didn’t know if she heard me or now.
“NO!!!” Dark screamed. He wasn’t happy. “You ruined everything!”
Shia and I fell to the ground. I turned in mid air to where I would land on the hard concrete first. Closing my eyes I pulled Shia closer.
We landed hard. I tried to stay awake but the pain consumed me and I fell into blackness. Comments (0) |

Prologue
*My Introduction*
Chapter One
*The Journey Begins*
The blue-eyed one was about a foot shorter than the red-eyed man and taller than the amber-eyed and the jaded eyed.
I chuckled, picking up Smokey, the dark gray-blue feline in which I had acquired not to long ago.
“I am Syaoran and this is her highness Princess Sakura.”
KURO-GANE!” I stepped back holding back laughter.
I smiled and looked at Kurogane.
“The Time Space Witch?” asked Kurogane glaring at Mokona who had taken a seat on his shoulder.
“She goes by that. She goes by a lot of things.” I replied.
“Do you know of a medicine keeper?” asked Fai-San raising his hand.
I outstretched my arms. “I am the only one in this town.” This just made him smile more.
“We need something for this boys wound.” He waved a hand towards Syaoran-Kun.
‘You are safe; here no one will hurt you. Kyanne Country has its ways of protecting one. Do not harm it and it will not harm you.”
“Catchy logo.” Kurogane said mumbling.
“Yes, I like it too. I find it rather…” I stopped searching for the right word, “suitable for the Kyannians Country.” I smiled, however he was not amused. I looked from Sakura-Chan to Syaoran-Kun. I took him by the arm. “Walk with me.” I said. He hesitated but finally began to walk with me.
“Wait, where are you going?” Sakura-Chan said walking after us.
“Princess…I’ll be fine. Stay with Fai and Kurogane-San.” He said. She stopped but she had a worried expression on her face as we left.
“You paid a very high price.” I said. He just stared at the ground. I felt a pang of loneliness inside me but ignored it. “What is your goal Syaoran-Kun?”
“To retrieve her highnesses memories.” He stated.
“She isn’t around Syaoran-Kun.” He looked at me.
“Sakura-Chan is the Princess of Clow Country. I must retrieve the feathers. All of them.”
“She’s not just the princess of your home, she is more to you isn’t she?”
“She is my childhood friend…and the girl who is most precious to me.”
“It hurts doesn’t it?” he looked at me confused. He was taller than me. I was probably the same height as Sakura-Chan, maybe shorter.
We approached a crystal clear pond with gold, orange, red, and yellow fish swimming around inside it. “Yuko and I talk using this magical seeing mirror. I needed a place to hide it so I placed it within the pond.”
“Ms. Ashakira, why aren’t you surprised to see us?”
“Because I knew you would one day come.”
“Huh?”
“You see Syaoran-Kun, I have a goal too. But it is my secret. I was one day hoping you, Sakura-Chan, Fai-San, and Kurogane-San would land here.”
“Why?”
“Because I have something I need to do.”
“What is it?” I laughed.
“You have a lot of questions Syoaran-Kun.”
“…Ms. Ahsakira—”
“Shia-Chan will work just fine.” He looked at me with a strange look.
“Shia-Chan, are you going to travel with us?”
“Somewhere around that conclusion.” I smiled. “You are into history, are you not?”
“I am.” I handed him a book.
“Kyanne Country is full of many historical sites. Perhaps while you’re here you’d like to check them out.” He nodded and smiled.
“Syaoran-Kun, don’t push yourself to hard in searching for Sakura-Chan’s feathers. You will find the. All of them.”
He gave me his serious look and we began to walk back. I looked over my shoulder and saw him beginning to read the book. I watched as the sun made its way over the horizon, ready to sleep.
