Prologue:
Dreams are like a dark hole, you can’t escape from them. All you’re doing is falling into the darkness. You think that the darkness will end, but it will never go away. You will be forever searching for a light....
These...these dreams...what do they mean...?
The man, the woman, the girl with the smiling face, a hand reaching out to me....
Are these dreams some sort of illusions?
.....Or....
Are these dreams..my memories?
These voices....they won’t stop calling me.
Why won’t they go away?
The dreams....why won’t they end!?
Someone.....
Anyone.....?
Help me escape the darkness.....
“Xavier! What the heck are you doing?! Shoot them now!!!!”, said the voice speaking threw the earpiece. Xavier blinked his black eyes, coming back to reality. “Wha..?”
Bullets, flying at top speed, are headed for the defenseless 19 year old. He sighes and races his hand, suddenly stopping the bullets in mid air. With his mind, he turns the bullets the opposite way, killing the enemies in sight. “Phew..I was almost a goner.” Xavier ran his fingers through his black spikey hair.
“What the hell were you doing out there?!”
“Do you have to yell?..I mean.. HUH!?”
“Get your butt out of the simulation chamber!!”
“Uh, yes sir!!...jackass...”
“WHAT WAS THAT, BOY?!!?”
“NOTHING!!”
“That’s what I thought.” The voice snorted. “Now, get out of there! I got something to say to you.”
“Yes sir..” Xavier pulled the earpiece out of his ear and sighed. He stuck his finger in his hear and gently moved his finger. “Geez...that old man got some nerve..” He took off the simulation jacket and headed for the exit of the simulation chamber, only to find his trainer, Kamioh, waiting for him with his arms crossed and a cigarette in his mouth. His trainer had one green eye and one snake eye. His skin was dark and his hair was put in a bandanna.
“God, you’re slow.”
“Shut up..” A fist was suddenly implanted into Xavier’s face, sending Xavier flying through the air and into the wall. “Don’t you talk to me like that, you punk!” Xavier slowly rose to his feet. “Ouch...yes sir...” Xavier rubbed his cheek.
“Okay....so, uh, sir, what did you want to tell me before you decided to punch me in my face??”
“Oh, yeah...” Kamioh cleared his throat. “The master wants to speak to you.”
“...The...the master?”
Chapter One:
“Level “S” Mission”
“...The...the master?”
“Yeah, he wants to..” He was interrupted by Xavier’s outburst. “Are you serious!?”
“..yes I am. Anyway..”
“OMIGOD!!! I GET TO MEET HIM IN PERSON!!! OMIGOD!!”
“Yeah, yeah. Now quit acting like a freaking fan boy.”
“....sorry sir.”
“ Now get going. Ryuji will assist you since it’s your first time going to see the master.” Xavier tried to keep himself from jumping around like an excited puppy. Kamioh suddenly yelled out, “RYUJIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!”
“Yes, yes, I’m here. Did you have to yell?” said a voice from beside Kamioh. “You didn’t have to be so freaking loud.” The boy had light blue eyes, light brown hair, and tan skin. His long ear twirled in little circles, trying to get over Kamioh’s loud voice.
“Watch it, boy.”
“Uh-huh. Hey Xavier.” Ryuji’s lips broke into a smile as soon as he said Xavier’s name. “Are you ready to see the master?”
“....do..you..REALLY want to know??” Ryuji stared at Xavier for a moment. “...yes, I would like to know...?”
“..YEAH!!!!” Xavier began to jump up and down. “Ha ha! Alright “X”, calm down.”
“..I sorry,” said Xavier with a giggle. “I can’t help it.”
“I know.” Ryuji chuckled. “Come on. The master doesn’t like it when people keep him waiting.” Xavier suddenly became calm. “Right. Let’s go!!”
“Thank you for here today, Xavier,” said in a kind and warming voice, his grey eyes fixed on Xavier. “Uh..yes sir. It’s great to be here.” Xavier stared at the floor. “Um..master?”
“Hm?”
“Is..is there a reason why I’ve come here today?” His master chuckled. “Yes, there is.” He paused. “You know, you can relax.”
“Y-yes..I know sir...I just...” His heart raced faster and faster. He could hear his master’s footsteps coming towards him. His “master” placed his hand on Xavier’s shoulder, and with his other hand, he touched Xavier’s pale face.
“Uh...master?”
“....You are...”
“...?”
His “master” quickly removed his hand from Xavier’s face and walked towards his desk. “You are one of the best assassins in Organization “X”. Xavier felt himself beginning to shake, he gulped. “That’s why I want to assign you this level “S” mission.”
“Level “S”...level “S”?? LEVEL “S”?!!?”
“Surprised?”
“Sir, I..why me? Why not Ryuji??”
“You don’t want this mission?”
“Oh no! I do, I do!”
“Good, no more questions.”
“...Yes sir.”
His master suddenly pushed a red button that was on his desk. The lights slowly dimmed and the wall suddenly opened, revealing a big screen. The screen turned on automatically. It showed a girl with pink hair, pink eyes and...and cat ears???
“Xavier, this is your mission. Gather information about this girl.”
“...uh sir..may I say something?”
“Sure.”
“...I’m sorry for yelling but...WHAT!?!?!”
“Heh, I knew that you’d react this way.”
“Sir, this is beginner stuff!! How is gathering information on cat girl here a level “S” mission!?!?” Xavier paused. “Wait..why does she have cat ears..?”
“Well,” his “master” began as he sat down on his desk. “ she is a “creation”.”
“A...a “creation”??”
His “master” nodded and continued. “ She was...an experiment gone “wrong”...but she’s..different. Just like Ryuji, your trainer, Kamioh, and you, Xavier.” Xavier raised an eyebrow. “Huh? What do you...mean by that?”
“You, Xavier are an experiment gone “wrong”. But you haven’t gone “wrong”...you are a blessing.”
“...me?..Then...who was my..”
“Which is why you’re the one to do mission.” Xavier fell silent. “And, to the opposite sex, you’re attractive.”
Xavier felt heat rising in his cheeks. “Heh, can’t argue with you there!”He chuckled. “Yes, yes. Now...can I count on you?”
“Hmph! You can count on me, master!” Xavier bowed. “Alright. That’s good to hear. Ryuji will tell you what to do from here.”
“Yes sir!” Xavier bowed once more and exited the office.
“....that boy...he will....fail me...”

“You excited?” Ryuji tossed Xavier’s gun into the air. “I guess so..” Xavier shoved a pistol into his “mission bag”. “I mean, the mission doesn’t sound too exciting. The missions we do together are so much better than this.”
“Just give it some time, “X”,” Ryuji said with a warming smile. “ the mission will get exciting. You just have to be patient.”
“Hmph. Patience is one thing that I don’t have..”
“Heh. I know. Now remember, you’re....?”
Xavier sighs. “I’m going out into the field as a school boy with no family, who is a laid back kind of guy, and he’s a loner.”
“Right. We get your into her school, you befriend her, and you know the rest of the routine.” Ryuji tossed the gun back into the air, but fails to catch it. The gun goes off and the bullet ricocheted off of Xavier’s trash can, the bullet was now headed for Xavier’s head. The bullet suddenly froze in mid air and fell to the ground. “Geez....you sure are a bad catcher, Ryuji.”
“Hmph. Well, I’m sorry.”
“Yeah yeah.” Ryuji chuckled and began to walk to the door. “Well, I’m gonna go. Your mission will begin in an hour.”
“Alright,” Xavier stretched. “ I’ll just hang out in my room and take a nap or something.”
“Set your alarm this time alright? You don’t want to miss the helicopter again.”
“Shut up!”
“Ha ha! Well, see you in an hour.”
