Surprisingly, I was able to get the time to post this update!! My update about Naruto will come tomorrow, so if you're actually reading this, I actually WILL have an update in between the story.

Chapter 4

When Ian returned to meet Minoru, he was sporting a pair of shuko; claw-like weapons worn on the fists. Minoru was carrying his scythe, a weapon which is self explanatory. The two nodded grimly, and set off to the barrier, where they would begin their trek through the forest and desert to fight the hunters. Ian cut his palm with his claws and traced a door upon the dome, which opened quickly.

“I can heal myself faster than others.” Ian said, the wound glowing as the flesh sewed itself back together. Minoru nodded, and the headed for the forest. Fortunately for them, their search for Terra was short lived. A soldier stepped forth from the brush, carrying her under his arm. The soldier looked panicked, and took out a semi-automatic, clicking off the safety.

However, before the man even had a chance to fire, his head was separated from his shoulders. Minoru thanked his lucky stars for being able to teleport; if he hadn’t had the ability, he probably would’ve been killed. The man slumped on the ground, blood gushing from the aorta and jugular in his neck. Ian retched at the sight, the foul stank of blood overwhelming him.

“I suppose that’s Terra, then?” Ian asked, gesturing to the girl with sandy blonde hair, who was slowly being splashed with blood. Minoru nodded and moved her out of the pooling crimson, brushing her hair out of her eyes. It was evident that there had been needles inserted all over her body; there were minute scars along her forehead and down her arms and legs.

“M-Minoru…?” Terra spoke softly, opening her eyes briefly. He looked more upset than she did. That was, of course, until she began to weep ceaselessly. Loudly, she began recounting the terrible things that she’d gone through over the span of, apparently, a day. A female hunter had taken pity upon her, and ordered her free, unfortunately not before she’d been exposed to a set of grueling and grotesque experiments.

“Terra… I’m going to make them pay for what they did… please, wait here…” Minoru said, standing his sore sister upon her feet. She shook her head slowly, frowning. Two things were evident in her expression. One, she would not allow him to go seeking revenge for her. Two, she wasn’t going to stay left behind in their destroyed city.

“I’m going with you…. both of you.” Terra said, her expression sealing the deal. Minoru didn’t have the heart to turn her down. Ian kicked the body into the forest, retching again upon the bleeding carcass. Minoru ushered Ian over, who wiped his mouth clean of vomit and returned to their little group.

“Okay, so here’s the plan…”

“Izayoi!!” A friendly voice shouted, approaching at a high speed. The hunter perked her head, leaning up from her vehicle. She was used to working maintenance upon it, as she usually did. It gave her something to distract her from the terrible things that Otomaru was doing to the prisoners.

“What do you want, Tenji?” Izayoi asked, looking up at her friend, wiping oil smears away from under her bad eye. Tenji, as Izayoi called her, was a bioengineered being; half human, half fox. Specifically, Tenji was meant to be a weapon; she was an Alter with incredible abilities, which was why Hadden had abducted her.

“Oh nothing,” Tenji chuckled, rubbing the two black stripes under each of her eyes, “I just wanted to talk.” She smiled, her furry, red tail waggling behind her. Tenji’s physical appearance was fairly simple; she had shoulder-length red hair, red fur all over her body, bright green eyes, and two distinct, black stripes under her eyes. For some reason, she dressed like a Japanese priestess; baggy red pants that looked like a skirt, and a short-sleeved white shirt.

“Well, out with it then.” Izayoi chuckled, walking over to her friend and prodding her stomach. They both laughed loudly, Tenji from being tickled, and Izayoi from just pleasure. The two had been best friends for about 4 years now, which was how long Tenji had been physically alive. Eventually, the tickling stopped, and Tenji took a deep breath.

“I wanted to see if you wanted to go out and play in the desert? There’s a real lovely storm cloud, and we might finally get some beautiful rain!” Tenji squealed, taking her black colored parasol off of her back. It was adorned with red flowers and a picture of the moon, which were hand painted by Tenji herself. Izayoi chuckled, and accompanied her friend towards the exit. That was, of course, until a voice boomed over the loud speaker.

“Izayoi Aruka and Tenji Oshiruko!!” Otomaru’s voice boomed, once again in sing-song, “report to the training arena at once! Hadden and I have some important information for you. NOW!!” The box crackled as the transmission ended, leaving a grim looking Tenji. Izayoi sensed something was wrong; there was never a time when Tenji stopped smiling.

“What did you do now?” Izayoi asked, to which Tenji simply shook her head. The two of them ran for the arena, not speaking on the way. Little did they know, one of them would not be returning back to the engine room.

Here ya go. Hope you like it!
