AEGFF, Chapter 28!!!!
Well, here it is! The end of the date... basically. Hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 28

Max had finally arrived; he’d gone all over town and had just located Tera’s motorcycle. Since Tera had a window seat, it wasn’t too difficult to find her. Of course, he hadn’t expected her to be looking the way she did. Once he picked his jaw up off the floor, he burst into the building, smiling triumphantly. The look on Tera’s face made him feel even better.

“They found out you cheated, Chad!” Max grinned, “so, our team wins by default! Which means your date is over!” Chad frowned but left nonetheless, grumbling about technicalities. Max would’ve left, but Tera told him to sit down. She said it would be a shame to waste the food that had been ordered, although she felt otherwise. Max agreed and sat down, pulling up his chair and smiling at her.

“Thank you so much, Max.” Tera smiled, “it wasn’t really a bad date, but I’d rather be spending time with someone I actually like, y’know?” She was drinking her water again, and caught Max staring at her out of the corner of her eye. When she asked him what he was looking at, he just told her she looked really good. She blushed slightly and thanked him, thanking the waitress when she brought dinner and some carbonated beverages.

“I see you swapped your date, miss.” The waitress smiled, “he’s better looking anyway. Enjoy your meal!” She walked away, nodding when the two said their thanks.

“She’s getting a big tip.” Tera smiled, digging into her big meal. Max ate his as well; though he stopped every once and a while to make sure that chunks of her meal didn't end up in his own. She was eating rather quickly; her chicken was almost completely gone already. Max suppressed a laugh (he would have choked on the meal he’d stolen from Chad.), and continued eating at a medium pace.

Eventually, they’d both finished their food, and they split the bill; it was easier that having to worry about how they’d afford the meal on their own. Unfortunately for Max, however, he hadn’t driven over to the restaurant. Which meant he had to ride in the bitch seat once again. Even though he didn’t want to ride on it, he had no choice, and they were gone.

***

Once Tera had gotten back to her dorm, Joyce had been about to reprimand her for ruining the dress after seeing it in tatters. However, once she saw how good Tera looked, she shut up, and only forced her to watch a girly movie. It was called “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” or something like that, but she watched all the same. Despite the sad moments, she enjoyed the film. There was one part during the film, however, where Joyce decided to bug Tera.

“See? That guy has it nailed.” Joyce grinned, “girls flaunt their beauty when they want people to see it… other girls hide their beauty because they want people to see something else. So Tera… what do you want people to see besides your beauty?” Tera grumbled under her breath for a moment; this was one of the reasons she didn’t always hang out with Joyce. It seemed like she was always waiting with a question to ask, like a crazed nutcracker chasing a walnut.

“I guess I just like being one of the guys…” Tera said, hugging her knees to her chest, “I’d rather have friends than a boyfriend. Friends are forever, and most boyfriends just come and go.” Joyce nodded, smiling. Of course, she knew that Tera had no idea why she hid herself. Maybe she was afraid of finding someone she’d like more than Max? But she’d pry later; the movie was still running.

“Oh!” Tera said, jumping up, “since my team won the X Games, that means Chad has to do whatever I want for a week! This is gonna be so awesome…” She giggled wickedly, thinking of all the mean things she could make Chad do. However, she also realized she’d be stooping to his level if she just made him do demeaning stuff. Briefly angered by morals, she decided she wouldn’t embarrass him… well, not much, anyway.

Well, hope ya liked it; it could've been bewtter, but whatever. Read and review... as always.
