   Bizarre Love Triangle, Chapter 12!!
Well, here it is! I thought I wouldn't be putting up the ficcies, but I suddenly found inspiration. Mostly a flashback, describing the origin and eventual formation of the Kage no Jinchu. Enjoi.

Chapter 12

Tataku had gotten bored of being cooped up in the cabin, and had decided to go out to tell Moroi to come back. Takatobi was starting to bother him; especially since he was becoming the test subject for her girly magazines, which she read non-stop. It was nerve wracking, but Rei-sensei wouldn’t allow them to take their own space, as he found teamwork to be a necessary element of their group.

“Bah, that brings back memories…” Tataku mused as he headed off for the lake where Moroi was bathing; he knew that his friend was taking a bath, since it was too cold to make such a thick fog like the one currently encircling the woods. He hated having sudden flashbacks, especially of the first time he met Moroi. That ‘boy’ seemed so scary, and turned out to be a pacifist with an iron constitution. However, that never stopped ‘him’ from doing what their sensei said. When he thought about it, there was only one time in which Moroi had disobeyed their sensei. Frankly, he was glad ‘he’ did.

***

It was a cold day in the land of the hidden mist. Moroi had walked to the training facility with her sensei, holding his hand as she often did. Apparently, the other two members of her squad had been decided, and she was getting to meet them. Rei-sensei had informed her that they might be afraid of her abilities, but deep down… they would merely be jealous. She nodded, ensured by his (rare) kind words, and eventually found herself at a training ground. The other shinobi, who looked about her age, stared her down from their spots; it made the timid girl hide behind their sensei.

“Who’s that, Rei-sensei?” The boy asked, pointing at the ‘boy’ who was peeking out from behind their teacher, “I didn’t know you could bring your children to training.” He looked as though he may have been angry at his own parent, who had seemingly refused to bring him along. The little girl was playing with her long, white-blonde hair, and glanced occasionally at their teacher and the child behind him.

“Oh, this isn’t my child. This is my prodigy, Moroi.” Reikoku said, pushing Moroi out in front of him, “he will be a part of your squad. Please, make him feel welcome.” Of course, Takatobi’s curiosity got the better of her, and she was in Moroi’s face right away. The girl was playing with Moroi’s ragged hair and looking at ‘his’ eyes, which seemed to glow in the gloomy, dim light of that snowy day.

“You don’t look like a boy.” Takatobi said, scratching her chin, “I guess you must be one of those pretty boys my sister talks about.” Moroi sighed inwardly, glad that the girl was a bit dense and hadn’t figured her out. The boy, however, had a look on his face that told her that he knew something. He came up and looked at her hands, which still had sharp claws.

“I knew it!” Tataku grinned, “you’re the creepy kid with the advanced bloodline! Everyone in town said you guys were all killed!” There was a loud smacking sound, and there were three very alarmed faces staring up at their sensei. Takatobi, for witnessing the smack, Tataku, for suffering it, and Moroi, who was afraid for what her sensei might DO to him. That idea, however, was answered, when a kunai suddenly pinned the young boy to the tree by his shirtsleeve.

“Moroi. This boy knows about your family’s slaughter. No doubt his parents may have been involved.” Reikoku said, glaring apathetically over at the boy, “you must be angry for having to have heard and no doubt seen their deaths… feel free to vent on the boy.” Everyone was still wide-eyed, although Tataku’s eyes seemed to be the widest. However, Moroi nodded, and ran past the boy, claws raised. He closed his eyes when he heard a ripping noise, but was surprised to feel the cold snow beneath him again. His shirtsleeve was torn to shreds, the cloth dangling from Moroi’s hand.

“I’m sorry, sensei.” Moroi said, tears in her eyes when she turned to look at her sensei, “as sad and angry about them as I am… it’s unfair to take it out on him… he didn’t kill anyone. I’m sorry to disobey you, but this time, I must, to do what is right.” Rei-sensei, instead of being angry like she’d thought he’d be, looked… satisfied. He walked over and put his hand on Moroi’s shoulder, taking the kunai out of the tree.

The look in his eyes told her “Good job,” and she smiled, wiping her eyes. Then, after instructing them to introduce themselves and train, he was gone. Tataku walked over to Moroi, and despite trying to look cool, ended up crying like a baby and thanking her endlessly. Takatobi grabbed Moroi’s arm and started saying it was “the nicest thing ever,” instilling her ongoing crush on the false boy.

Well, hope you enjoyed. I'm going to try to make the next chapter as interesting as possible.
