Anime convention

I just got back from an anime convention yesterday. I was going to write about it but I started feeling really sick 5 minutes before we got home.
I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did last year but I’ve changed since then…
I wore my costume on Friday and Sunday. I wanted to wear it on Saturday but my mom didn’t want me to wear the same costume two days in a row. I think four people said that my costume was cute but two of them were just trying to sell me stuff in the dealer’s room. On Sunday someone actually recognized who I was cosplaying as! I thought that no one would know. It was the Rose of Versailles fan from last year. She even knew about Ai Yazawa. I should have gotten her e-mail address so we could talk about anime together…. I guess I was too shy *sigh*
I felt awkward walking around Publix and the hotel in my costume but at the con I actually felt normal.

My costume sort of looks like this but I cut a lot of corners because of money/time. >.<

I didn’t have much money to spend in the dealer’s room. My dad gave me $30. That’s enough to buy three manga or one DVD and a keychain. It wasn’t unusual for people to have over $200 with them o_0. I was veeeery careful about what I was buying. It wasn’t too hard because the dealer’s room was filled with mostly Bleach, Naruto and Fruits Basket merchandise. Plushies and pins and T-shirts oh my!

I was really shy about asking people for pictures. There was a girl dressed up in a samurai costume made out of boxes of Pocky. There was even someone dressed up as a stick of pocky. I will post pictures as soon as I can.
I missed a lot of panels that I wanted to go to. >.<
There was on panel where we played anime trivia. Anime conventions are the only place where it is necessary to know what color Eva-01 is or what was the name of the eyebrows guy from FLCL (he had a name?!)

I only have one or two favorite anime at a time but I’ve noticed that many people mention what seems to be every anime they’ve ever seen. I’ve decided to post a list of all the anime I’ve seen and all the manga I’ve read….I’ve always wanted to do it for reference I guess.
It’ll probably always be incomplete because I can never remember every single one.

“Conqurerd” means that I’ve seen the entire series
“Missing Link” means that I’ve seen it up to the ending but I missed one or two episodes in between
“Incomplete” means that I never finished it
“*” means that I’ve barely seen any of it.
“Wishlist” is a list of anime and manga that I want to see/read

It’s not an impressive list >_<;
Notice that DragonBall Z, Gundam and Ruroni Kenshin are nowhere on the list. No wonder the otaku at my school call me a n00b.
