Valkyrie
Valhalla, the souls are restless,
Braying to me, they do,
Odin, they who are relentless,
Need to be returned to you.
Valhalla, the candles are lit,
In a glimmering moonlight bright,
A Hall of victory and wisdom,
Here I will ride them tonight.
Valhalla, the stars are empty,
The luster gone from their eyes,
Yggdrasil, whisper to the roots,
Before Nornir knew their cries.
Valhalla, where specters drink valiance,
Amongst the bravest gone,
I’ll ride to meet the chosen,
Prepare for their journey long.
Through fields of stench, wielding death,
Come now and ride with the Valkyries,
Silvery eyes, and misty sighs,
Whose mounts are as swift as the sea.
Yggdrasil who knew us before,
And after our bodies spent,
And Nornir as mentioned knew all,
To the land of shadows went.
Ridden in waste was Odin’s haste,
The flying Valkeries, ride on,
Beneath a sea of flames,
And thrice one blinks, they’re gone.
Gone to the starless halls of sky,
Open vale on high,
Beneath the blanketed silken grass,
The Valkeries ride through the night.
