   Yes! Awesome competition!!!
Note: The post below this one does not concern me anymore. I have, however, decided to try to ask someone else.

Note: I can't give away the location of this competition here, as it could give away my location :P I will use a handful of first names, because they are important to me and not important to you.

Note: If some of this information seems irrelevant to you, it's because this will be a good journal entry for me to refer back to later.

I had the best competition since finals yesterday. It was AWESOME. So, first we got there in the bus. On the way there, Padfoot and I decided that we'd write marauders letters on the next bus rides.

Then we had a snack break, in which a friend and I recalled fond moments from last year involving rolling down a hill, and a trombone player (Kristi) introced LarryTrombonesRuleKingTutTheNinth, a little dinosaur finger puppet/discarded clarinet sectional gift. We got it to "eat" a grape!

Then, we changed into uniform. As always, that was pretty uneventful.

Apparently, we had changed into uniform a little early, so we stretched out in uniform. When we were doing the calf stretch, I thought we should have taken a picture and put it up for our flamingo flocking advertisement (if you live near us, the band will flock someone's lawn with flamingoes for around $30).

Then we had 1/2 an hour of sectionals. Mellophones were put with trumpets, and nobody goofed off (much), which was good. We went through all the visuals in the show.

Then we did marching things, hinging with the horns and 8's & 8's (which are not important if you don't know what they are). I got to be center a couple of times.

Then we did music warm-up. I don't really remember much of that.

Then we did zap (once again, unimportant unless you already know what it is). I was next to Vanessa and Tuba Steve (aka Robert). I hugged Moony and Padfoot, as well as others (I don't exactly remember who).

We got our instuments and went to go compete. It was a long wait. We waited through two entire band shows (about 15-20 minutes), including the one band that we were competing against in AAA. They were playing Led Zepplin, which was cool. I was so happy before we were competing. I love to perform.

Then we did our show. Luckily, we got to perform on astro-turf. That's always really cool, and, unlike the last time I performed on astro-turf, I didn't feel like I was part of some elaborate toy-box. The performance was really fun. I didn't miss any visuals (including my exploding-hamster box snap), but I didn't quite make my last set (but then again, it's 3+1/2 to 5 stride backwards). After the performance, Lisa and I decided to work on it sometime (because sometimes we collide on it).

The instructors told us that we did an awesome job for where we were in the season (second competition), and that we were musically stable, but of course we can (and will work to) improve.

Brandon dismissed us, and we walked back to the buses to change out of uniform. Somehow, even equipped with a flashlight, I took a really long time (I have never taken this long before). Then I had dinner (lasangne and noodles). Then we celebrated 8 people's birthdays (October birthdays). We got party bags, which Padfoot and I had a lot of fun with (a flamingo twizzle stick, some candy, one orange and one black balloon, and a party blower thing that doesn't make noise).

Then we saw a few other bands perform. They were AWESOME. Then we had awards.

Padfoot and I had been talking about our favorite marching bands, and were having an all around good time. When awards came around, I asked Padfoot: "Even if we only get 2nd place out of 2, we just had the time of our lives, don't you agree?" Padfoot agreed.

Then we went through A and AA. We were only against one other band in AAA, so the worst we could get was 2nd place. We got a lot (if not all) captions awards, but we weren't announced as 2nd place, and the other band won 1st. Then we got sweepstakes!!!!!!!!!!!

Sweepstakes means we were the best out of the A, AA, and AAA categories (there is a different sweepstakes for the huge AAAA and AAAAA categories). Nobody we know in the band remembers ever getting sweeptakes before. We were so excited. We were screaming and hugging each other. It was the best thing that has happened in band since finals last year (we got into finals, which hasn't happened as far as anyone can remember).

We went home, and I fell asleep listening to Clay Aiken. Then we went back to the school and the band room.

Hurray! I'm still so excited. And I can't wait until we perform our field show for the school on Friday.

   Coronation...
...*sigh*. I was thinking of going with this one guy, but I wasn't sure. Now he's going with someone else (if he's going at all - she just asked him today). I'm not sure if that's good, or bad.
On one hand:
-My mind is made up (about asking him to Coronation, anyways).
-My friend was laughing at me for even thinking of going with him (he's a shy nerd type of person).
On the other hand:
-My mind was made up for me.
-Now I don't have anyone I want to want to ask to Coronation. Except this other guy... whom I don't know well.

Maybe I should give up Coronation. It's crowded.

...unless someone wants to invite me? :D

That was just something I needed to get off my chest. There's no one in the "real world" who quite understands. So I decided to fall back on the Otaku world. Indeed, I haven't even told anyone that he's taken as far as Coronation is concerned; I only found out today at the beginning of lunch. I need - to make an effort - to be less shy. But that's easier said than done. As shown in Fruits Basket.

----------------------------------

So anyways, I've got to do homework. I WILL get back to the people signed my GB, but it might take a while.

I have a band competition this weekend! Yay! And last night at rehearsal, I decided I'd have a better performance than the other ones - and I did. Without the only other mellophone player! Hurrah.

   Band camp...
Was completely AWESOME!!!

Not to mention completely tiring.

It was a lot of fun. That's all I can really say. We did a lot of things, but if I wrote it all out it would be boring.

I'm glad to be back home.

By the way, I thought you all might have fun with these. These are the questions Mrs. Dufort told our parents to ask us:

1) Swim or shower?

2) Why was everyone chanting "Jordan" at the pool?

3) What is a trust walk?

4) What was Mr. G's most embarrassing moment?

I will, in time, answer these myself. But for now I want to see what you guys think.

I thought of a really good (or so I thought at the time) daily question this morning, too (what was I doing being awake in the morning, you ask? Finishing my summer reading. Which, by the way, is all done. ^_^ My room, on the other hand...). I added the D&D aspect so that people can go crazy with it, even though I don't know much about D&D.

0.5) A teacher throws homework +107 in your general direction. What do you do?

That concludes everything. Sorry I'm not visiting sites right now, I'll get back to that some time. Thank you, everyone who signed my GB. I'll get back to that, too.

School starts tomorrow. In the words of my little brother, "Ew, no, blech, blech, blech."

   Heh.
That is the general mood to sum up my day. It was long (it's 7:13 right now) and now I ache and feel like sleeping. But I gotta stay awake for dinner...

1st: I had band mini-camp. That made me really sore. But, I switched to a new instrument (because they really needed more brass players and there's already 12 clarinets. So, I switched to mellophone). That made me really excited, and now I'm emotionally worn out.

2nd: Then I went to a friend's going-away party (she's going to New Zealand, the lucky duck). Moony and I were aching, and trying to be a part of a party of 20-30 people in a small apartment (you should have seen us try to fit on the porch. And that was before 10 more people arrived!). That was only an hour or two, a bit more of an emotional wearing-out.

3rd: We decided to stretch our legs out by taking a looooooong hike. That was more wearing-out-ness.

4th: I went home, where my relatives are, and learned that I should practice a brass instrument (mellophone = big trumpet, more or less) by blowing into the mouthpiece - A LOT. Heh, this is going to be an adventure. Luckily, I have a good teacher - this kid named Jeremy, if you know him.

Thus ends my hectic day. Now, I'm on the computer, otaku-ing. This is so much fun. I don't know why, exactly, but it is. I guess it's yet another way to be social without having to call someone! :P

Oh, yeah, go check out Moony's questions of the day (inspired by Metal-Inuyasha's daily questions, also worth looking at). They are so much fun!

RIP, Vega. You were a good fish to Pads. :'(

   Happy full moon, everyone!
In case you wanted to know, it's the full sturgeon moon tonight (Moony told me that sturgeon is a type of fish). I can't spend it with the other marauders, however, because I have company (an aunt and a couple of cousins). That's okay, though, my family is awesome ^_^.

Mission: Complete first day of Mini-Camp

Success! I'm so tired, but it was worth it. It's so much fun to be in band. By the way, I will probably disappear off the face of the earth next Monday through next Friday. That's when real band camp starts. Heh. Sleeping over at school + no computers = not online.

Today is a good Otaku day. A bunch of people I just befriended befriended me back! Yay! Thank you, new friends (and old ones, too, because you guys rock!)!

Now, I should probably clean my room or read a book or take a shower or something. See you all later!

Eee! I got something for piccys!
It's... oh, goodness, I already forgot what the site's called.

Anyways, here's a quiz (while I check my e-mail to see what the site's called):

Content
Life is good and bad. You know it can never be
perfect and that it never have been, and you're
fine with that. You still feel it's important
to live life since it can end any day and not
sulk because of some little failure in life.
You are often a happy person, still you don't
laugh all the time. You have a somewhat calm
aura and most people feel comfortable around
you.

How do you see life?
brought to you by Quizilla

Haha. I love this quiz. It's so cute, especially if you see all possible results. Other possible results for me would me the cheerful one and the balanced one. Yay ^_^

*blah-blah-blah, checks e-mail*

www.imageshack.us

It looks really cool. And a random source said it was better than photobucket. So I'm gonna try it out.

Actually, it looks REALLY cool! Huzzah!

   It's coming... it's COMING!!!
Band Camp starts on Friday! Be there. Don't miss the action.

Actually, miss the action if you're not in my band. We don't need creepy people hanging out :P.

Contrary to popular belief, I did not take this quiz on my own free will. I hit "random quiz" a few times, got some wierd quizzes (like, consisting of questions I don't even understand), then got this one. Ha.

By the way, is Yugi really spelt with two u's? Yuugi? It doesn't look right.

The next random quiz, the anime zodiac. I knew it was good the moment I read the title.

Wait... I thought it meant Zodiac, like Furuba! *feels cheated* (I'm really a Sagittarius, by the way, and year of the snake).

Singing bread is a good time for me...
Haha. Does anyone know what Homestarrunner is? If you do, AWESOME. If you don't, and wish to be highly amused, go to www.homestarrunner.com . I forgot to tell anyone, some guy was wearing the same black the Cheat sweatshirt as my brother at the concert. Yay for the Cheat!

I made a few friends yesterday. Every once in a while it's fun to "collect" a few, don'tcha think? Too bad everyone'll leave once the school season hits. I may, too, but I'll be sure to visit once in a while :D.

Here's a quiz. Heh, I don't even know Wolf's Rain.

   The DENTIST?!
Oi. The dentist's office... there's no way around it, unless you want gross teeth or to work really hard to keep 'em clean (which I don't). Luckily, they didn't do anything evil, except tell me that I need to brush and floss more. Is there anyone the dentist doesn't say that to?

Heh. By the way, I'm glad Pads likes her fish... and I'm glad Moony got them. I forgot to express that on Moony's page, because I got caught up in a quote (a beautiful quote. j/k. A Finding Nemo quote :P).

   Concert... last... night...
I went to a Dave Matthews Band (with Black-Eyed Peas) concert last night. My mom took me and my brother. So, we got back around 12:30...

...yeah. So, I'm a little tired... and I haven't been home for a while (even two nights ago, when I finally "got home", was spent doing something else :P).

Oh, yeah. I had a weird dream last night! I'm planning to turn it into a book *grins*. I wish I could make it manga or a movie, but that's quite a bit more difficult... :P

Haha... the only other book I have written was one in 8th grade (a couple of years ago, now I'm a sophomore). This'll be much better (if I finish it :P).

By the way... does anyone have good names for a boy and girl (I'm thinking Nienna and Tom, probably, they're some RPG characters I made up :P)? Or some random names for random people? Just wondering, because I thought it would be fun to see what people say :P.
