Hi Everyone,
GanChan here. I've been an anime fan since my uni days. I watch *most* (if not all) types of anime. I do like to indulge in the occasional fan art, but I'm really quite lazy ;P Thx for dropping by, and don't forget to sign the guestbook....

Azumanga
You are Chiyo-chan! Everyone likes you, for some
reason or another. You're mature for your age,
and you are extremely smart. You are also a
hard worker, and often help your friends
overcome their difficulties. Your wish in life
is for everyone to be happy. You are very
unselfish, but sometimes your friends leave you
behind, thinking you too innocent to indulge in
their darker habits. Happiness, friends, and
hard work are what make life interesting. You
have an insecure side to you, and can worry a
lot, although you try not to show it. Your
best friend would be... well, everyone, really,
that's never been a problem. Your biggest
valid competitor is yourself. But you really
look up to the Sakaki's of this world.
Consider going into buisiness or starting up
your own company, you're sure to be succesful.
And you make a good leader, you could probably
even make president.

I watched Uchuu no Stellvia and also the 2nd Season of Big O last week. I can't really put my finger on it, but there's something really good about Stellvia. Perhaps its sort of positivist (?) take on sci-fi? After a constant deluge of dystopian visions of the future (ala Matrix etc), it's good to see something positive for a change. Sort of like Deep Impact pt 2 without all the angst and sad parts. I was almost deceived at the beginning by the Sailor Moon-like character design of C-pon (the buns+ponytails) and braced for a whiny, klutzy heroine. Luckily, C-pon is made of sterner stuff, and she made me root for her.
Big O pt 2 OTOH, takes a darker Dark City approach but is great all the same. While fleshing out more of the 1st part, it poses more new questions than it answers old ones, leaving one begging for more. Argh...I hope they another season! While it improves on the 1st season, my only beef with it is an occasional drop in animation quality. One really sloppy part was the scene where a cop was briefing Dastun about an impending blackout. Ugh...but all in all, an absorbing watch.

April's Fool....not?
April's Fool day passed by rather quietly over. Somehow there seemed to be less spoof news articles this year (at least, on my regular news channels). Either that, or I wasn't looking hard enough. Google's announcement of an email service with 1GB storage space had me wondering for a while, but that one may very well turn out to be real.
