People often tell me I look/sound younger than I really am. Apparently, I write younger too :D I'd like to think that anime helps keep me young. I do have a serious side of course, but it's usually submerged beneath by my "genki" side. The serious part only comes out when I'm writing reports or having a heated coffee shop debate on politics...

A black tie event
One of the fun things about being a committee member of the local japanese language society is that you get invited to all these "official" japan-related functions where you get to dress up really spiffy, hob-nob with "distinguished" guests and gorge on japanese finger-food. This week, the local Japanese Consul General bids us farewell with the end of his posting here. I hope he takes back with him fond memories of his stay here.

Started watching Megami Kouhosei yesterday night. Inexperienced flight cadet inexplicably bonds with mysterious, semi-sentient anti-alien mecha as he is thrown into a war for humanity's survival against mysterious aliens. My "Eva clone" alarms have started to go off...
