Gasara? Why?

Ta da! Look what I did!! Hehe, so proud of this one... ^_^

I was musing about my name on the bus to work this morning. Not my real one of Laura (though I'm more often called Oog - which, of course, is the short form of Ooglie, a made up word derived from ugly. My family are so sweet...) but that of my Otaku username. It occured to me that Gasara was quite an odd name to choose. For those who don't know, it came from the anime Gasaraki. In it, Kais and Invitators could summon the Gasaraki with the dance of Gasara - which had it's roots in Noh theatre... It's an awsome anime, if you haven't seen it. ^_^

Anyway, that's why my avatar is what it is, too. It's a pic of Miharu from the anime, and I chose it after I chose my name. Which is a point that leads me in a circle back to the beginning. Why did I choose Gasara?

Even now I'm not sure. I absolutely LOVE the show, but... I don't know. Why aren't I called BeybladeObsessive01 or something? Sometimes I worry about the fact I can't remember what I was thinking...

Either way, after a pointless ramble, I've come to the conclusion that I love my name. It's a cool word, and I'm glad that with it I can pay my respects to one of the little known anime that I love! ^_^ ("aaawwwwww")

And so, now I'll go... (off to buy a PSOne memory card, and some flowers for my mom... if anyone cares!)

QUOTE OF THE DAY: Gasaraki (I'm in the mood!)
Yushiro: "We're alive..."

I think I've used this quote before... Hm. It's used with such awe, and for the first time in the whole show Yushiro is genuinely happy - and it also happens to be the last line of the whole thing, too! ^_^

Happy days!

Hiya all! Well, it's been a fun day so far today! It's a gorgeous day out - yes, in England! - and I actually went out without a coat on today! This is significant as I'm sure I'm a zombie - I'm really pale and cold all the time - so it was kind of nice not to have to bother with too many layers! ^_^

Then work's been odd this morning. We've not really done much (well, except drinking wine at about 11 o'clock this morning to celebrate one of the staff's birthday!! I only had a sip though!! ¬_¬)

And now my boss has given me an extended lunch hour - an extra 30 mins - 'cause there is bugger all to do. AND, if that wasn't enough, I'm listening to Gravity by Luna Sea, a song I've been trying to track down for months after hearing a snippet of it ages ago!! And it's amazing!!

So, how are you? Hehe. Oh, Beyblader, I'm in love with your pic - it's so funny! You'll have to draw more! Hehe.

And congrats to Tim Henman in Wimbledon. Poor guy! He's not good enough to win Wimbledon but every year the whole nation backs him and gives him such support. He's one of our best loved failures! And in a devestating match yesterday, he managed to squeeze into the second round. Losing the first two sets didn't bode well, but he managed a win so that's what matters!

Well, now that I've rambled a bit, I have to go and buy something to eat. My boss, bless her, constantly mothers me - "Now, you are going to get something proper to eat, aren't you? And don't stay out in the sun too long!"

Hehe! Well, have a good day and I'll see you tomorrow!

P.S. Go draw on my oekaki board! Link is above, instructions are below - you have no excuse for not going! ^_^

Hey peoples!

Bonjour! I want you all to draw a doodle on my oekaki board, okay?! It's in japanese so I'll give you instructions on how to navigate the pages . . .

1. Click on the link above.
2. In the new page, click on the left-hand blue box at the top.
3. Draw your picture.
4. When finished, click upload.
5. In the new page, enter your name into the first box, your e-mail into the on the right (opt.). The title of the pic goes in the third box, followed by your homepage address (opt.) and finally your message goes in the last big box.
6. IMPORTANT! You must then type the password - Y287NFLV - into the last box, then click on the button directly to the right of that box.

And voila! Your pic should be up! Please go and draw me a picture! I'm so bad at doodling on it that I need some decent artist peoples to leave me a nice pic!

Hehe. Yeah, I only have a mouse to draw with and I just can't control the thing! Sigh, one day I will have decent software . . !

Oh well, for now I'll have to settle for crappy pictures! ^_^

Anyhoo, I gotta go now! I hope to see nice drawings when I come back . . . *threatens you all with a rolling pin*

Oh . . . I'm sad!

For some reason my wonderful Oekaki board is playing up!! It won't open the drawing tablet. I've checked other sites who use the same one and theirs aren't working either, so I'm kinda glad about that! ^_^ I hope it's just a glitch that'll go away!

Hmm, I'm really pleased with myself at the moment. Bishounen Hunter's coming along, and I've just drawn some of my favourite pages of it - I deserve cake, I think! I just drew a bit where Rei had an out of body experience in Takao's head (!! - sounds weird, I know . . . ^_^) and I like the way I did it. Oh, I'm all proud!

I'm really pleased with the reaction it's getting - I haven't put a page up but there's still lots of interest! Thankyou!

I've got to go now - there's a stocktake at work so I've just been counting stuff all morning. Not very exciting, I can tell you . . .

Well, see you later!

Gasara's Oekaki
I've got my very own Oekaki board! Hehe. Now I can scrawl random doodles in CG mode!! Okay, so it'll be appalling, but hey ho! I've put a link at the bottom of my profile - though there's not much point checking as there's nothing on there yet!! You'll need the password to upload pics, but I'll get that sorted and you can all scrawl random doodles on it, too!

Hehe, right, I'm off now. I've gotta go get my dad a present for Father's Day. And some chocolate for me! ^_^

Bishounen Hunter! Yay!

Hehe. Don't you just love the above pic! ^_^ Phwee! (Card Captor Sakura moment!)

Yeah, so this is what one day Bishounen Hunter might become! At present it's just a folder load of random pages that need editing, redrawing and finishing... Hehe. I'm just pleased I could put something up!

It occured to me that I hadn't really explained about what Bishounen Hunter entails. Well, obviously it's a Beyblade doujinshi, but doesn't take place in the Beyblade universe - it's a world full of weirdiness and... well, probably plague. That is to say it's set way back in time, maybe in some kind of medievalish era. And with... not magic as such, but weirdiness! That's the only way I can explain it. But there's something not quite right with Rei, and his links to a mysterious person... oooh...

Okay, so it sounds kind of cheesy, and fairly typical of a fangirl on a Beyblade rush, but trust me - it is good! ^_^

Only thing that might put people off, and I'm sorry about this, but I AM a fangirl, and one who's been indoctrinated with Gravitation... it is a shounen ai doujinshi. Uh hu, that means guys in a relationship with other guys... I'm sorry and I'm expecting a backlash, but that's just how it is!

Heheh (nervous laughter...) Well...

So, anyhoo - swiftly changing the topic - I've added a CG section to my fan art gallery on Photobucket (link is at the bottom of the profile or at the top left of the menu bar). It contains the two random scrawlings I did on an oekaki drawing board, and two drawings I scanned and coloured in Microsoft Publisher (the best art program I have! Hehe!). I apologise if I offend your eyes with them, but they were fun to do! Oh, and if anyone's bothered, the pencil sketches of Emily and Judy (from Beyblade, but in Bishounen Hunter mode - more or less) that became the coloured versions, can be found in the sketches section.

Well, I think that's all I have time to write now, so I'm off home to eat something chocolatey! Have a nice weekend!!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: Dragonball Z
Buu: (to Hercule) "Buu like big chocolate. Me eat you instead."

Yay! I remembered something!! Hehe. I love the Buu saga!

CGI defilement . . .

Hello peoples!! You know, I can't believe it's only Thursday! This week has really dragged on and on! And there's still another day of work before the weekend! Ra!

I've been testing my skills in CGI art on those crazy drawing boards. As you might know I don't have a comp with a graphics program, so I'm stuck drawing / painting by hand. It's no bad thing, really, but I've always wanted to try CG art. Now I've realised I should just leave it alone!! Hehe. I'm so bad!

Oh well, another pointless tale for you ^_^ I've got to go catch my bus home now so I'll say goodnight! (actually, it's only 4:14 in the afternoon . . .)

Bishounen Hunter yomigaeru!

Yay, it's a Bishie revival! I've been slacking off with my Beyblade doujinshi lately, but I suddenly got inspired again and drew five pages! Trust me, five pages in a day is a lot for me!! Hehe. I was really pleased with them as well. I had a young Takao, and some rather gratuitous nudity! Nothing explicit might I add! It just seemed to fit better. (That's my excuse anyway! ^_^)

People keep asking me if they can read it, but it's nowhere near done yet - I know, I'm so slow! Damn work keeps getting in the way!!

Hehe. Speaking of work, I think I might add some scans of the pics I do at work to my photobucket fan art page. I've drawn some pretty decent doodles recently at work (I have a notebook stashed in my locker for emergancy drawing!) But again, it depends on when I can get round to doing it.

Yluv is adding some more wallpapers made from my fan art to the Otaku. She has my full consent so please don't yell at her! Actually, I'm quite honoured!!

Heh. That's all for now. I'm cold, starving, and it's raining, so I'm gonna go and grab a cup of coffee! See you later!

Quotes are on hold until I can get my brain working again and pull some from the inky depths of my fading memory!

*yawn*

Dear Lordy, I'm so tired! Works been boring as hell today - I spent most of the time doodling another picture of Beyblade Pirates . . . hehe. I still have to go back this afternoon though . . . sigh!

I'm starving, too. It's one in the afternoon and I haven't eaten all day! Nyah . . . so hungry . . .

And for that reason, I'm off! I know, I know, my posts are getting shorter, and more pointless, but I can't help it! I'll try to be more interesting next time I write!

Hehe. See you!

The Two Yoshikos . . .

Hello, Bonjour, Ni hao, Konnichiwa!

Hmm... I've been on t'internet today searching for truth in the Shadow Hearts story and managed to find out some pretty interesting things about the young Yoshiko Kawashima.

That's pretty much how excting the day's been / gonna get! Oh, no, my boss bought me some flowers which I thought was really nice of her! That was fun too!

That's all from me today - too tired to write much else!!

Bye, au revoir, zaijin, sayonara!
