Oh Dear Lordy!!
Okay, so I'll warn you now that I'm gonna write endlessly about the Beyblade movie in this post. Sorry, but it's an undeniable fact that it is so totally worth the entirity of this little space here! Though, saying that, said little space doesn't really do justice to the amazing 71 minutes that I spent watching it last night. (Okay, so technically it was 142 minutes . . . I watched it twice ^_^) It really is amazing. Those of you who live in America and don't already have it should be ashamed!! I imported it (Again, technically Matraw did - yay!) to this animeless isle of the UK just so that I could see it. I may have been desperate, but it was unimaginably worth it! The Beyblade movie, like the Escaflowne one, is something that I'd never thought I'd see. But now I've seen, and own, both and it's things like that that make me love anime that little bit more. In truth, I was really sceptical about the quality of the movie. I'd heard nothing about it really, other than the existance of dark versions of the bit beast in it - which on the surface sounds like a very cheesy fanfiction - and the fact that it cenres around Tyson and Daichi (it's original title of Takao Vs. Daichi giving nothing away there . . .) And obviously, it was meant as an introduction to G Rev, so it makes sense. And I have nothing against Tyson and Daichi, it's just that Rei and Kai are my faves. Granted, there was a slight absense of Kai in the middle, but the rest of it made up for that. It was uncut as well, sayingwords like 'Japan', 'Die', and showing blood which was excellent. Whay can't they do that in the series? And there were many hints (Hehe, Tomyo!) The animation was typically Japanese, there was a festival, and splitting watermelons on a beach. Yes, it was awesome!! I won't spoil the plot for any who haven't seen it, but will say that it was very interesting. I urge you all to go buy / rent / steal this now. It will never have the following of the likes of Akira and Ghost in the Shell, but it remains one of my firm favourites!! Because I'm painfull sad!! Somewhere along the way I turned into a journalist, so sorry about that - I just needed to vernt my love for it!! And now I don't have any time to write anything else . . . oopsie!! So after that rather passionate, but probably boring post, I'll go!! See you next week! QUOTE OF THE DAY: Beyblade Movie (. . . what?! You were expecting something else?) Rei: (Staring out over the sea to the mainland where a team member had remained) " . . ." Sometimes words aren't necessary!
