   Spitfire: Prologue
By using stealth and swiftness, she managed to evade him. It wouldn't be much longer before he caught up to her. Though she hadn't had time to find out, she knew that her chaser had excellent hearing, but all his other "tracking" senses were lacking pretty badly. It wwas bugging the hell out of her that she knew that. Something even told her that her new enemy wasn't even human.
She didn't know where she was or what her destination was, yet, in spite all that, she didn't have the feeling that she was lost. Her fiery red-orange eyes pierced through the moonless night as she glared back at the chaser. What she had seen told her that her instict was right. Her chaser was, indeed, not human.
The destruction in it's wake was caused by it's sword-like tail. All four of it's clawed feet were tucked in safely as it flew, quite litarilly, down the street. It's body was completely covered in pale-green scales. It had blood-stained fangs that appeared, it seemed, only when it growled. The scar on it's mouth seemed to glint when it moved it's massive head. The wierdest thing of all was it's eyes. The only similarities it had were that niether eye had white showing and that both pupils were slitted. One eye was blood-red with a black pupil. The other eye was jet-black with a red pupil.
"What the?! You mean a dragon's been chasin' me the whole time?!" she said in an exhausted, confused tone. "Damn! What the hell!" She was so confused about what was happening she didn't know what was real and what wasn't.
She may have been able to evade him, but she could not lose him. Whether any of it was real or not, she wasn't about to stop running. She rean down an alley that was to the right of her.
She knew something wasn't right, she could feel it in her bones. And it wasn't just because of her new dragon "friend", but of something she couldn't quite place.
The alley led to a small bridge over a river. "Bingo!" An instant later she was under the bridge. It took her a couple of minutes to regain her normal calmness. She darted out from under the bridge the minute the dragon passed over it.
She finally figured out what her odd feeling meant when she stopped at a 4-way intersection. She looked around and sighed. "Oh man, oh man! No cars or people. Not a single soul anywhere... dead or alive," she whispered the last part. "Heh! Friday night, too. Tch, tch. What a shame!"
She looked behind her and her jaw dropped. "Wah... what the hell is going on?!" There was a brick wall where the road was. She was still wide-eyed when she pushed her chin back up, like a cliched cartoon move. She shook her head, as if to stay focusedand looked at all the other roads. All but one of the other roads was blocked by a brick wall.
"Shit!" She heard a 'swish' followed by the sound of destruction. She ran as fast as she could down the only unblocked road.
"Whoa... deja vu!" She was back to evading him by turning on roads and through alleyways. She glanced over her shoulder and saw some glints speeding toward her.
The dragon started moving slowly, towards it's running prey. Shit, she mumbled as she ran down the road. The dragon's fangs started to show as it opened it's mouth. She, unfortunately, tripped and landed on her wrist. "Sh... Shit!"
