Memorial Day- 8:16 pm
I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day. Did anyone do anything special. Cookout? Anything? I had a cookout, but we celebrated it yesterday since a lot of my relatives wouldn't be able to come over today. Today has meaning to me. My grandpa, who is no longer alive, was a World War II veteran. He earned a few medals for doing tasks of bravery. He saved many of his "brothers'" lives. One of his bravest acts was, someone threw a grenade in a hole that him and some of his fellow soldiers were in and he picked it up and threw it back at the enemy. He also cleared out a fox hole by himself. (not a fox's hole) He was a great man. I looked up to him when he was still alive. He is why I respect other soldiers and why I celebrate Memorial Day. To me, Memorial Day isn't just a day off of school. It is a day to remember all of the soldiers who lost their lives to give us freedom. Freedom isn't free and I'm sure everyone here knows that. Memorial Day isn't just for lost soldiers, but lost loved ones too. I hope others feel the same way I do. I'll talk to you all later!
