Super Trampoline School Kid
Who would have guessed that our next unit en la classe de francais was going to be...emoticons...? o.o;
I mean, this would be great--even fantastic. However, we're "etudie-ing" those lame-ass emoticons that no one uses any more--you know the ones that all those old people writing the French Cahiers are able to visualize?
That means, we get to fill out pages of fill-in-the-blank-with-an-old-school-emoticon-based questions.
Let's see how well you, good people of myOtaku.com can fair with this, shall we?
1. Enfin les vacances d'ete! Nous partons demain pour la plage. ____
2. Je ne peux pas venir chez toi cette fin de semaine. J'ai un projet de sciences a faire. ____
3. Peux-tu recontrer demain apres les cours? J'ai beaucoup de choses a te raconter. ____
4. Reponds-moi vite. Tu manques beacoup. ____
5. Mes Parents choisissent tous mes cours pour moi! Les parents pensent qu'ils savent tout, n'est-ce pas? ____
Don't speak French? Thought you did until now? Who gives a crap? Answer them anyway. Geez, people, show some innitiative, at least when it comes to the most useless of things. u.u
In honour of the dumbest French class ever, I think I shall pepper my post with emoticons. : D That is, unless I forget. : /
Another thing we have to do for French class is fill out some profiles for a few people we might regularly talk to online. What fun this is going to be. >: P
Does any one else find it slightly unsettling that our modern methods of communication have so deteriorated that we actually study these little guys
:-)
:-D

Okay, enough of that. =_="
I mean, those aren't even up-to-date. If they're going to teach us useless information that we already know, anyway, why don't they at least do it properly?
I bet that, one day, you will be able to take University-level courses on emoticons and their proper usage. They will become so engrained in our writing, that "oh-dot-oh" will become a common verbal expression, and that "tee-underscore-tee" will fully replace saying, "You, know, Bob, you've really hurt me."
Thirty years from now, when we have kids, and they walk around saying things like, "lol dude that iz so tee-underscore-tee, yet oh-underscore-oh and underscore-space-underscore-capital-U at the same time," and we try to explain the origins of said phrases to them, they will look at us all funny-like.
But seriously, think about it: there are three things every one between the ages of ten and 20 know all there is to know about right now, and we, as a generation clump, will carry this knowledge and attempt to transfer it to our potential offspring, whether or not they give a flying wad of crap:
-Pokemon and how it has impacted every society on a deep, subconcious level u.u
-The good old days, when you could download anything you wanted without actually having to care about whether or not the cops would bust you for it : P
-TCGs, videogames, and all manner of Asian pop-culture ^.^
A bunch of fifty-year-olds suddenly exploding into a fit of comparison between their best Pokemon, back in the day, might actually be considered normal one day. Who knows?
O_o"
Another thing that's different from earlier decades/centuries is the preservation of pop culture.
I mean, now that every one has at least one Beatles CD lying around at home, what's to say that, a hundred years from now, every one wont still know who John Lennon and Yoko Ono were?
I mean, I am used to the music of a few obscure Greek singers from, like, the fifties, so what's to say that everything that's popular now wont become cool again in fifty years or so? ?_?
Imagine... o.o
...Good Charlotte being popular forever. O_o"
I think I have to go burn down the Much Music headquarters now. >_>
In twenty years, will there be some sort of system of identification online, rendering all of our "don't talk to 30-year-old child molesters pretending to be twelve year olds online" videos utterly obsolete?
Something tells me stealing stuff is going to be a tad more difficult. >_>
Will there come a day where downloading music is considered...rebellious, as oppose to regular, or even slightly nerd-tastic? O_<
And how did I get here from exposing you guys to my silly French homework?
o.o"
