You have three seconds to spot five totally awesome differences between what you're seeing now and what you expected to.
Watched the first part of "Titanic", for the first time in years. It's funny: I remember really liking that movie, back when I was--what?--eight, or whatever. But this time around, I felt my head imploding every time Rose opened her mouth to talk.
I mean, I appreciate the character and how utterly miserable she is, but the acting was pretty-much sickening, on ol' Kate What'shername's part: when it came time for the whole bit about, "One leg on each side?" I was nearly falling off the chesterfield, laughing.
And the picture quality totally sucks.
To tell you the truth, I probably just don't like watching movies that involve my being acutely aware that everybody's gonna die before the final scene. It's too damn depressing.
Luckily for certain unnamed parties, my scanner is giving me no end of trouble. It has been for the past couple of days and something tells me restarting the computer would fix the problem, as it worked last time. However, I am currently downloading a bundle of Black Jack episodes and am not inclined to wait another eight days for them to finish.
Anyway, once I do get around to restarting this diminutive hunk of plastic and metal, every one can look forward to my second drawing of aforementioned persons. Featuring more of my god-awful handwriting--in French, at that! Wai.
It absolutely sickens me that people claiming to be "out to preserve life" exert all their effort trying to keep a clinically dead human being on life support and protesting abortion, then go and not give a shit about the fact that their country is slaughtering countless, entirely innocent citizens, right as you're reading this, because they're Iraqis.
But, then again, one has to remember that, with these people, it is made obvious that the only people who are "people" are white, Protestant, middle-class Republicans, who can, for the meanwhile, at least, afford to not care about the fact that the world has real problems.
Too bad for them that China is gonna take over the world, fifty years or so from now.
And no one hereabouts could even be considered an abstract threat, so we just might be able to stay safe. 'Specially if we do the proactive thing and give them 50 cows before they can get angry at us for something else. Then again, giving any one 50 cows, these days, would probably be a threat in itself. *chuckles at the utter weirdness of cows*
Because they really are fucking weird as hell, when you get right down to it. Black spots/splotches? Why would you even breed a creature to look like that?! So they couldn't disappear into the forest, while you weren't looking? As if you couldn't find them with no effort, at all, anyway: "Mmmmmmmooooooo...."
Teh hell? *shakes head at the weirdness of people*
Just out of curiosity, has any one else seen "Into the Woods", in any form--tape or live or what? Because that would be really cool if you had.
Agony! Far greater than yours...
