The night was soft and cool that night, the stars have never shone as bright as they did now. It was like the gods had moved the stars in place just for that one night. As if to make it the night that would never end… so that all creatures would live there day… like it was the last. This night in time was known as the great “Equintë”, which meant in the ancient Neko language “The night of equals” and was also called Unity. Every 5 years, after the great battle of the Creations that occurred over some 2000 years ago, the gods chose the last night of there battle to mark in the heaven the unity of all creatures. May they be demon, human or simply animal. It was on this night that two newly found lovers were able to spend there first night together under these stars, that where created just for them. It is the night… the Heavens are truly almost in your grasp. This night would be one to remember for both the lovers Lulu and Zer0, in both the same and different ways. But this story doesn’t begin this very cold Sunday night. Instead it begins 10 days before the night of equals begins. On a typical Thursday night, in the heart of the ruins from a castle long since destroyed called Creek Edge.
The once coble stone paths and roads inside the castles once great walls were now covered in lengths of tall grass and wild flowers that some only bloomed at night. Many stone walls where broken down and covered in grass and weeds. Some yet still stood but now covered in black paint written in languages some demons didn’t even know. Yet there in the middle was the tall castle Näillon, most of its tall towers destroyed yet some were still standing as if to reach out for the heaven itself. The castle was famous for the number of towers and high peaks in which it rose to. Now it stands as a place for birds and other animals to make it’s home. No one knows what truly happened to the Castle of Näillon, many believe a plague inhabited the city killing all who lived there, others believe a battle had occurred there. But to this day… not even the oldest wise man could tell you. But for now… all who went there new… it was the perfect training ground for young students of the fine arts.
A soft breeze picked up over the empty ruins, the grass growing along the roads and paths swayed to a soft rhythm of rolling waves. The two moons were only half full this cool night. Yet the sky shone with such a light of blue and black swirls. The soft stream like clouds floating past the sky along with a few night wind dragons, that looked like large white and blue snakes with long whiskers along it’s jaw like a catfish that floated just as the clouds did in the sky… but even though their large appearances may be something fears to see… they are truly the most harmless and kind creatures next to a butterfly. As the shadow of the wind dragon swept over the ruins of the castle the wind quickly came to a halt, and all stood still and quiet. Slowly a shadow began to forms over a small stone and soon after a foot so softly was placed on it, as if not touching it at all but only standing on the ball of her left foot.
Lulu slowly placed the rest of her weight on the stone and placed her other foot softly behind her left foot to where you could scarcely see it. She stood there for a moment, her head high yet her eyes where low as she stood up right. Her posture was truly one of a woman. Her slender form was a pleasant one, her long hair shone brightly even in the darkness of the bright colors of fall, all the reds and oranges that where her true color shone with such a glow. She had a simple face, High cheek bones a slender nose and lips as soft and pale as the stone roses of the creeks water edge. But her eyes where truly the thing to see, they where the days color of blue with a sharp pointy crystal look in them. Her shirt was white that cut off the shoulders, her long sleeves where not attached to her shirt but yet strapped to her arms. A small slit in the middle of the shirt showed her bare smooth stomach leading past the navel and down to her hipbones. As from there on a strong looking brown leather belt was tightly fastened around her hips, and on that belt a long white cloth that did the same as her shirt did… a long slit in the front reveling her long legs that were covered in long brown leather strapping…and softly around her feet was a pare of leather boots that almost looked as thin as stockings.
Her eyes slowly rose to see the surroundings, though she new every rock and stone like that back of her hand. Her breath was slow and steady as the soft breeze started to pick back up. Lulu came from a long line of world famous sorcerers, that’s past knowledge of the elemental arts gave them both eminence and notoriety. When she was only four, she already knew how to cast inner spells. Her spells are now only consisted of Wind and Fire bending. Not truly possessing the full ability like her parents and her Grandmother, but in time she would be on her way of becoming a true elemental sorceress.
Seeing Lulu could only manipulate her elements seeing she could not fully poses them yet, she found so many ways to use what she had to her advantage. Lulu slowly looked around her with her eyes, just looking at the feeling of the cursed ruins that she loved dearly. She felt the wind pick up around her once more, the soft breeze hitting her face blowing her hair back making each strand dance in the wind just the same as her white cut skirt. She made a soft smirk to the side as she slowly raised her hands to her hips extending her palms straight out in front of her, smirking slightly bigger she closed her eyes and took both ring fingers and bent them down to the middle of her palm. This was the only way she could use her powers and now… she was using the wind as her eyes. With her eyes closed she could now see everything around her, everything the wind touched she could see it in black in white in her mind.
She could see anything that moved through the wind, just like sonar scanners can pick up anything in its path using sound waves that bounce off them… it was the same for Lulu but it was with the wind. Anything that broke in the winds path, she could see. This one of her first wind-bending tool she learned when she was little. She used it to stop her brothers from playing trick on her when they thought she was asleep. She was searching the ruins as the wind picked up rolling over the houses and walls of the castle. She saw the land and the buildings around her as a dark gray and as the wind swept over the landscape she saw all that moved as white. The grass that was swaying looked of ghost like patterns in her mind, as they swayed back and forth. She was looking all around her… her body not moving but the land in her mind was searching. She turned and looked at a old house that had no roof but all four walls where there… she smirked and turned her hands slightly and the wind broke from its path and quickly swept the inside of the house coming at it in four different directions… now just like the ghost like grass… she could now see inside the house in just the same manner. As the white shadow filled the house she saw a quick flash of white light and then it quickly vanished. This flash was not done with her own wind bending, she knew, this is what she was looking for. She quickly followed the small trace of the movement then found nothing… all signs of moment she was looked for had stopped, just like she knew it would. Her smile got even bigger as she slowly raised her right hand, and just soon after the wind picked up and now stayed. Everything was a clear as day to her… every movement of the earth was so bright to her. Just soon after the wind pick up again she saw another flash out of the corner of her eye, this time much closer then the other one was. And once again it vanished. She looked around quickly still standing as she did before, her eyes quickly searched all around her.
She suddenly felt a presence in her mind… as if she wasn’t alone. The feeling sent cold chills up her back. You’re cheating. A cold deep voice of a man said to her in the darkest part of her mind. She felt the flash again to her left and quickly saw it vanish. She smirked and answered aloud. “So are you.” She lowered her head down, eyes still closed so softly, in her mind she looked straight in front of her and now… just waited. She stood there for a few moments… the wind still blowing as it was. She saw another flash straight in from of her closes to the edge of the ruins. She did nothing. Then again there the flash was… this time closer, and yet she did nothing but stand as she was. She smirked to herself as quickly the flashes came at her like zigzags on the ground. She smiled and opened her eyes that where now glowing of a bright blue as she quickly jumped straight up in the air. Just as she jumped a flash of white appeared right where she was standing. Lulu quickly spun round in the air raising out her left hand and grabbing onto a small lightning poll that was attached to a broken watchtowers.
