Oh, Tedium!

I sat in a conference for two hours with one student today. He's concerned about his comp paper and grade. His first language isn't English, and he thinks that means he should be an exception to my grading policies. However, I have two girls in the same class who have different first languages and they are the top two students in the class. He forced me to try to say something he does well in comp. I struggled to say "organization." It's not something he does well, only the thing he doesn't blow at. I feel like poo. I hate my students. Two hours! Anywayz--I went to get coffee today at Caribou. I decided to buy a red canister because it would match my other kitchen stuff. It was supposed to come with a 1/2 pound of beans, though I didn't know about that. The guy who works there insisted on seeing I get the free coffee beans (which was a decent thing to do), but he never checked to see if the bag was already in the canister, which it was. I didn't discover his mistake until I got to the office. Now, I'm in the crux of an ethical delimma. Should I return the extra 1/2 pound of coffee. It's just expensive enough that I feel like I've stolen something. :(

List Cut

It's list cutting time again! On my monthly anniversary, I cut people from my list who haven't indicated an interest in my Otaku. December 7th, I'll clear away the friends list. If you stop by but never post, comment on something before then or give me a shout out in the shout box--it seems to be having some trouble this morning, but the usually the people who deliver it get those problems sorted out really quickly. If you've commented on something in the last week or so, you can relax! I don't have the chance to visit everyone on my list everyday either, so I don't expect that level of interest on my page. :D Thanks, you all who keep posting, even when I don't have much to say! Rurouni Kenshin

I really am amazed that I like this anime. It's not me at all, but it's still so....charming. Somehow it has won me over, despite all of the cartoon-y-ness. Been watching it and avoiding the latest stack of papers, of course. I've noticed that alot of people I visit are having problems with people voting negatively on their fan art. I've looked at these really inspired pieces of art (not talking about doctoring screen caps here) and I just don't understand where the negativity comes from. Why would people be interested in visiting these artists and shitting all over their well-done art? How can these people actually believe they belong in this community? I've seen one person take all of her art off the O and another one has a rating on some of her work at 84%, which is a good rating, but holy mother, her work is incredible. I just don't understand why this number isn't nearer 100%.

   Busy, busy

I didn't think I would find the time to post today. I'm working really hard on papers that need to be graded. I really didn't do ANY work over the holidays, so now I have to catch up Big Time. Actually, I'm typing this up with one hand and scarfing down Chinese food with the other (chopsticks, huzzah!). Why do I have to push off all my responsibilities this way? I'm only in a frenzy later. I wish my brain and my motivation would talk to each other sometimes. :D Anyway, I'll try to get around to everybody's site, but it might take me a while. Oh, news! Netflix is sending volumes 24 and 25 of InuYasha. Yay-ness! Finally I can *cough* view *cough* these two volumes in high quality DVD! Wish Sess were in these eps. Oh well. Netflix was supposed to have been sending the rest of .Hack for me to *cough* view *cough* again in high quality DVD, but for some reason, they keep skipping over volumes 3-6 in my queue. But at least I get first shot at InuYasha. Will try to be patient...too bad I'm not good at it. ;)

Nothing much happening

Well, the subject says it all. Not much is going on, and I'm not sure why my BG isn't loading. I'll try to trace down that little problem before I sleep tonight. My Angel Sanctuary manga CD came today, but I haven't had the chance to look at it. So far, the pics have to be blown up to be seen well, which somewhat makes them illegibile. The X wallpapers are coming along slowly but surely. I even have a slightly yaoi one to post. Anyway, hope you all enjoy Adult Swim tonight! I'll post again sometime tomorrow.

Watching .Hack//Sign

I'm currently watching Dot Hack. Unfortunately, I only have copies of the first two disks. Still, that's 10 fun-filled eps. I've posted a new wallpaper for the Devil May Cry video game. InsaneDemon, this one's for you! I will say, I haven't taken a look at the wallpapers in the VG section--not organized according to my standards, honestly. So, I hope this one isn't like a thousand others that appear there. Post-Thanksgiving

I just got off the phone with my sister. We talked from 9PM until 2AM. :D Being twins, we hate spending the holidays apart. Her T-day went pretty well. The family performed their usual antics. My Granny made her famous mac and cheese and her dressing (which was not as good as previously, it seems). Good news--I may be getting an iPod for Christmas from the folks after all. Yay, me!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Enjoy the holiday, everybody! I'm celebrating by watching the Cowboy Bebop movie. :D I can't get away from Spike this week. Hopefully, I can take more X screencaps tomorrow for December's X-fest. Also, I bought a pecan pie today. It's not as good as a homemade one, but it is still yummy. The question is....am I really gonna eat the whole pie by myself?! I predict foisting off a few slices on neighboring colleagues the day after tomorrow. Anyhoo, not much else happening in these parts, so -- later!

   Site Update Complete

I've finished toying around with the text colors and everything. This will probably be the way my page looks until next Tuesday. I'm thinking about buying the Lost Angels: Angel Sanctuary and the Clamp: X artbooks. However, I'm feeling guilty because I should be using this cash to buy Christmas presents. Hmmm...
