i won't be posting this weekend. i have a church thing to go to.

i have more of the story typed so i shall share it.

“Excuse me; I have to check with young master Sacred first. You don’t seem to have an appointment and we rarely if ever receive unannounced visitors.” An older butler briskly said into an intercom. His statement was punctuated by a final soft click escaping the receiver as he switched from the main gate to the east wing of the manor.

Siren was home during one of his few brief vacations from work. He was only twenty-one and already leading an archeological research team. His astounding intellect was only matched by his physical prowess. He, like most aristocrats, was handsome beyond words with the sculpted body of a god. In almost every sense of the word he truly was perfect. His striking blue eyes alone were enough to incite the envy of all he met though his beauty was far from limited to them solely.

He presently sat in one of his home’s libraries rereading a priceless original Ashenta text. He carefully flipped a leaf of the manuscript with a practiced graceful slide of his hand when the house tel grabbed his attention. He casually glanced up from his reading and wondered what would require him at this time of day. He wasn’t perturbed by the interruption if anything being a little bored by his current inactivity. “Display call please.” He calmly sighed as he laid down his text.

The overhead lights dimmed and a screen projected in front of his chair from a corner of the room. It floated above his lap displaying the family butler standing in front of the main door. “Master Siren, there’s a rather scruffy looking gentleman at the main gate with a package from Dr. Gensas from you. He says it is to be handed to you in person.” Grist said in his normal respectful tone.

Dr. Gensas! It must be important for him to send it to me directly. Let him bring in the package Grist. I would much appreciate it.” Siren said with muted excitement wondering what Gensas could deem important enough to send to him at home.

Grist dialed the outside intercom once more where the courier presently stood waiting. He watched his screen shift to show him daydreaming in his own world mouth agape and slumped over with his layman’s posture. It was almost shocking having just seen Siren a few moments ago. Grist cringed slightly at the thought of having to allow someone of his stature to enter his master’s grand home but he knew it was inevitable. Grist took a small breath and prepared to speak to the guest when his eye was caught momentarily by the sliver cylindrical tube the courier held in his hand. He wondered what within its interior could be so important but he knew well the rules of his trade and curiosity was a definite taboo.

“Sorry for the inconvience. Please proceed to the front door.” Grist said as he pressed the button for the gate to open.

“Yeah sure.” The courier weakly responded being shaken back to reality. He currently stood in front of a rather large and beautifully detailed black iron gate with gold panels stretched like a spider’s web between the thick bars. It was quite stunning to behold and also served to hide the estate locked behind. The gate was edged in by immensely tall pale hazel walls covered in vibrant green Ivy.
