Chapter 14
The return home

“Inuyasha, I’m sure that Kagome and Sanji are stuck on the other side. How do you suppose we get them back?” said Miroku. “Beats me. Maybe I should just go after them.” “If they are stuck on the other side, wouldn’t that mean that we wouldn’t be able to go?” asked Sango. “Didn’t Kagome say that last time she dug the sacred jewel shards up, and that caused her to come back?” asked Shippo. “Of course! Inuyasha, put a sacred jewel down on the floor of the Well. That should get them back.” said Miroku. “What am I supposed to do about it? I don’t have any of the sacred jewel shards. The only one close to here that has some is that mangy wolf, Koga.” said Inuyasha. Miroku and Sango looked at him intently. “No! I am NOT going to ask that wolf for help!” he snapped at them. “Fine, I will go after Koga. Inuyasha, Miroku, Shippo, you stay here. Kirara!” Kirara grew into a fire feline. Sango climbed onto her back and took off towards Koga’s cave. “I can’t believe you guys are resorting to using him.” growled Inuyasha. “I could’ve just sniffed out a demon with a jewel shard no problem.” “Inuyasha, that would take too long, besides, Koga’s sure to help since Sanji is there also.” said Miroku.
Sango arrived at Koga’s cave. “Kirara, you wait out here. I’m going in to ask him.” Kirara nodded as Sango walked through the waterfall and into the cave. When she got in, all the wolves stood immediately. “What’s with the wolves?” asked a wolf demon. “Look, who’s that?” “She’s unfamiliar.” “Who are you and why are you here?” “Where’s Koga?” she questioned. “Who’s askin’?” “Koga, it’s me, Sango.” Koga emerged from the shadows of the cave walls. “What do you need?” he asked. “Kagome and Sanji have been trapped on the other side of the Well. Unfortunately, we have no jewel shards, and we believe that that’s the only way we can get them back. I’ve come to ask you if we could use a jewel shard from one of your legs to get them back.” she explained. “Trapped you say?” he repeated. “Yes. You are the closest being with a jewel shard.” “I suppose. But I’m not going to give it to you. I’ll come with you to ensure that I get it back.” he compromised. “Thank you Koga.” she said. “Save it.” he said shortly. “Now, lets go.” he followed Sango out of the cave. “Kirara!” she yelled when she got outside. “Mew!” Kirara grew again into the fire feline. Koga ran below them, following to the Well.
“Look! There’s Sango! And it looks like Koga below her.” said Miroku. Inuyasha balled his fist up. “Great… that mangy wolf is here…” he grumbled. “Inuyasha, don’t fight with him this time. We need him to get Kagome and Sanji back.” said Shippo. Koga stopped before them, as Sango landed near them. Koga bent down and removed a sacred jewel shard from his leg, and sat near the Well. “Hey! Gimme that! If anyone is going to get them back, it’s gonna be me!” argued Inuyasha. “No chance mutt. This jewel shard belongs to me!” He dropped the shard into the Well and watched it intently.
“Ah!” yelled Sanji. She had lost her balance and was falling in. “Oh no! Sanji!” Kagome grabbed a hold of Sanji’s arm, but was dragged in also. They fell through the warp and landed on a hard ground surface. Kagome looked up. “Koga!” she yelled. Sanji shot her head back to look straight up at Koga. She stood and jumped out of the Well, grabbing Koga along the way. Sanji gave him a happy hug while Kagome climbed out slowly. “I swear I thought I’d never see you again!” she squealed. “Koga? Isn’t this yours?” asked Shippo. He was holding up a piece of the sacred jewel. Koga nodded, and took the piece from Shippo, putting it back in his leg. “It feels so good to be back… I just feel like… like… running!” she yelled. She took off in a twister of dust and wind. Koga waved and followed her. (“The Great Escape” by Boys Like Girls) Koga ran alongside Sanji. She turned her head to smile at him, then she took off running ahead of him. He laughed and ran to catch up with her.

Sorry but I gotta go! Bai!
