Story *new one*
Murder Forest
Chapter 1
It was a quiet evening when I heard a loud bang. I awoke from what seemed to be a nap and pricked my ears up. "What was that?" I asked my father who was beside me. "I..I don't know Amaya ," my father said, "It cant be good though." He told me to go back inside to my younger sister, Cora, who was crying. "Shhhh, it's okay Cora," I said,"Father will be back soon." I wrapped my long silky black tail around her. I looked like my mother, jet black. I had the long fur like my father. He nicknamed me "jet". I snickered at the thought.
Later that night I went outside to see if Father was back, he wasn't. I sat down on a large boulder outside the small, damp cave we called home. Cora came outside and set her dark grey head on my front paws. "I coulden't sleep," she said," I keep wondering where Papa is." I looked at her with my golden eyes. "Im sure he's just fine, he just went to go see what that noise earlier was." She could tell I was worried, too.
A couple hours later I took Cora back inside, because she had fallen asleep. I set her down on her soft pad on the floor. I lied down beside her and sighed. I layed my head on her back, and slowly drifted to sleep. The dream was horrible. I dreamt that my father was killed in a fire while saving me and Cora. I shot up with a whimper. Cora was still sleeping silently. I looked at her gently and put my tail around her and tried to sleep once again.
I awoke the next morning. Cora was already awake chasing crickets outside the cave. I walked out to her and sat on the boulder and watched for my father. He had never been out this long before. I told Cora to go inside while i went hunting for food. She went and immediately started swating moths that we shared our cozy home with. I turned around and darted into the forest. I wasn't searching long when i saw a huge buck. He looked in my direction but i ducked into the shadows and crawled. I was behind him now. I sprang with incredible speed and leaped onto his back and sank my teeth in. He tensed up then slumped over. My father taught me that move. When I was 2. I was 4 now and was nearly old enough to take care of myself. Cora was 11 months old, still a cub.
I grabbed my kill and started back home. I was nearly there when a heard a twig break behind me. I shivered and turned to discover my father! He was bleeding all around his snow white coat. "Papa!" I screamed, "what happened?!" "Nothing," he said,"Go get Cora and get out of here..." He trailed off into a painfull moan and slumped over. "Papa!!" I yelled and ran to his side."Jet, tell your sister I love her,"he said trying to hide the shiver in his voice," I love you too Jet..." A tear ran down my face."Don't talk like that! Your gonna be fine!" I yelled. He looked at me with pain-filled eyes, then they slowly shut. I sniffed his face. He was dead. The leader of the wolves, gone.
Here I stood. Looking at the only family I ever had. Dead. Lying next to his body I burried my head between his arms, and cried. Still lying there I priked up my ears and heard a small voice calling my name. It was Cora. I shot up and wiped the tears from my face with my paw. Cora appeared from behind a huge oak tree. "There you are," she said happily,"I've been looking all over for you!" She started my way. I didn't want her to see her father like this so I ran to her. "I'm so sorry Cora, I got carried away. I caught a big deer, lets go home and eat it." I tried to look happy. She believed me and ran in the other direction and yelled for me to catch her. I looked at my father's lifeless body and said to myself, "Father, i won't let your death go that easily.." I trailed off and darted toward home.
Cora, of course, was already there. "What took so long?" she said with a I-won-you-didn't look."I had to get the buck," I said," here, I know you' re hungry." I dropped the buck in front of her. "Now then, eat, it'll get dark soon" I said turning around. "Now where are you going?" Cora asked. "I'll be back soon, don't worry about me, now eat," I said," then go to bed, okay? I'll be back late, so don't stay up waiting for me." She nodded and started eating. I looked at her gently and ran into the forest.
Chapter 2
Once in the forest I noticed that it was getting darker. I could hear noises, all around me. My father once told me that when you are scared you are supposed to think about the things that are most Important to you, the things that would be most important. Cora. She is the only family i have now that Father has died... I've been watching over her since she was born.
~~*Flashback*~~
"Whats wrong pappa?" I asked. "Your mother is in labor. The puppies should be here any minute" He said with a little bit of excitement in his voice. "Yay!," I shouted," I get more brothers and sisters!!" Then suddenly i heard a ear-shattering exblosion. I bolted out of the cave. I couldn't believe my eyes. The forest surrounding my home was all in firey ruins!! "Dad?!" I screamed. "Where are you!!??" Turning to the side i saw a small, dark object under a fallen tree. I trotted to it and rolled the tree over. A small whine alarmed me of what it was. ONE OF MY SISTERS! I picked her up by the scruff of her neck and bolted back toward the cave. Almost there i tripped over something. I got up with the puppy still in my mouth. I looked at what i tripped over. Tears rolled down my cheeks. It was the charred remains of my mother. "MAMMA!!" I screamed. Father came running doun the hill. "what is it?" He asked suddenly. I moved out of the way for him to see. "wha..." Was all he could stammer. The puppy wriggled on my back. "oh, yeah, I found one of the pups." "Is it okay," he asked "Yeah, it is a little shooken up, but it shou...." I was inturrupted by a huge pain in my left leg. "Amaya!" My father yelled. A cougar was latched on to my leg, growling madly. I snarled and did a quick turn to bite his neck, but his quickness decieved me. When i turned he let go of my leg and latched onto my neck! "Amaya no!!" Father yelled and bolted toward me. But he was cut off by 3 more cougars. "AMAYAAAA!!!" My dad yelled. The 3 cats attacked him all at once. The cougars jaws clenched harder around my neck. I felt the fangs protruding through my skin. Suddenly i heard a small growl and the cougar yelled in pain. Cora was latched onto his ancle! A mere pup. *This is my chance!* I said to myself. I lept into the air and sank my fangs into his throat and ripped it open. Panting, i picked up the youngling and headed over to my father. He had killed all the cougars when I got there. "I..Is the pup okay?" He murmmered. "Yes," I panted," She actually saved me in fact..." "Heh." He said under his breath. "C'mon Jet, lets go back ho..." My eyes widened in awe. A GIANT cat had scooped my father up in his huge jaws. "Pappa!!" I screamed. The cat chunched my father far away. He came toward me with incredible speed. I managed to dodge it. Suddenly something struck me. *The pup?!* I thought to myself still in the air. When i landed i bolted back to the cat, ran under its legs, grabbed the pup, and skinned back away as fast as I could. The cat cought me by suprise and whacked me with its giant paw. I went flying and the pup fell out of my grasp. *Oh no!* I said to myself. The cat cought the pup. I landed on my feet and bolted back toward the cat. "Give back my sister!!" I screamed wildly. I lept up high and snatched onto his eye. He let loose a stomach-clenching roar and my sis fell off his paw. While he was falling down *took a while* I lept off his carcass and cought my sis before she hit the ground. Standing up i felt a spine-tingling pain run up my side. I looked around in shock to find that the cat had impaled me with his claw. I felt me going limp. All was black...
