For A Friend.
This is a story of a guy who laid down his heart for the woman he loved. He told her how he felt a thousand times. And a thousand times she said I know. He gave her gifts, wrote her sonets, proclaimed his good intensions to the world. After all that, she still gave the same answer when he said he loved her. Soon he gave up looking for the answer he wanted to hear. He cried a thousand times and died a thousand deaths.
Years had past and they had drifted apart. Still a void was there. So many times he tried to fill it, and still nothing. One day, he was going through a box of old letters and memoirs, when something caught his eye. There was a note in the pocket of his old favorite coat. He had wore it on many a date with his love. On the note it simply said....
"I know. I love you more than words could say, so I say, I know". He fell silent. Nothing to say. No words. No thoughts. Just a tear.
Regret not, the paths you choose. Only regret the ones you didn't. |
