A First, But Not A Last
I'm pretty excited from this weekend. I spent all day Saturday at a recording studio laying down drum, precussion and vocals for a demo cd some friends and I are recording. I've never done anything like this before. We're planning on just four songs, two fast and two slow, for the demo. It was a cool experience and hope to finish it up in the coming months. I never realized just how much time goes into just one song. I layed down the drum track first thing and then the rest of the band went in and recorded their tracks one at a time. It's a very technical process, not to mention time consuming. We started at 10 am and finished for the day at 5 pm. We got all the music done for the first two songs. (both of the fast songs) Myself and another band mate will go back in a month and record the vocals along with the back up singers.
I'm still abuzz about it. Very cool stuff.
In other news, I'm still plugging away at the Gundam fanfic. I want to get the first chapter posted by this Friday. I know, I know, I'm a week over what I said. Bare with me. I want it to be just right.
Some of you were asking about the last piece that I did. So I want to clarify a couple of things. All the works that I do are mine. They're 100% original. I don't like to do rough drafts or think those things out too much. I like to write from my heart and soul. Writing is in its purest form when it comes from the heart. Naturally I like to make sure spelling and punctuation and grammer are spot on. Other than that, it's all off the top o' my head.
Thanks for all of your kind words and thoughts. It's because of you guys that I have a place to spread my wings and write to my hearts content.
Until next time,
Late.
