Davy Crockett

“Davy Crockett was born in Green County Tennessee August 17 1786.” (infoporium.com) “When he was twelve he was contracted by his father to heard cattle.” (infoporium.com) “He herded cattle to Rockbridge County Virginia.”

“Which was almost 300 miles but, when he was forcibly detained by a snowstorm he finds help from travelers from Tennessee.” Infoporium.com “He was reunited with his family four years later at the age of sixteen.” Infoporium.com “Seven years later he is fighting in the Tennessee Volunteer Militia in the Creek War.” Infoporium.com

“At the age of thirty he almost dies of malaria.” Infoporium.com “At the age of thirty-five 1821 he is elected to congress.” Infoporium.com “1825 He losses the election due to good economic conditions” Infoporium.com “He is a better hunter because he kills one hundred-five bears in six months.” Infoporium.com “In 1832 he is re-elected to congress and allies with the Whigs.” Infoporium.com “Against Jackson” Infoporium.com

“Why Mr. Speaker, don’t squint with horror, when I tell you that last Saturday mornin’ Uncle Sam hadn’t the first fip to give the barbet! The banks suspended payment, and the starving people themselves by rope! Old Currency is flat on his back, the bankers have sunk all funds in the safe arth o’ speculation, and some o’ these chaps grinning’ around me are as deep in the mud as a heifer in the hoarse-pond!” Transon.edu

“Whar’s the political honesty o’ my feller congressmen? Why, in bank bills and five acre speeches! Whars all thar patriotism? In slanterdicular slurs, challenges, and hair trigger pistols! Whars all the promises? Every whar!” Transon.edu

That is part of his speech. The rest tells us how the national bank is needed and how our country is becoming bankrupt. He is telling us why we are because since Jackson got rid of the National Bank the government could not run it self let alone an entire country. With the would not have been so chaotic.

Davy Crockett was a hard worker as a child and a hard worker as an adult. Davy Crockett dies March 6 1836 at the age of fifty-five. He was at the Alamo with other defenders who had sided with the anti-Jackson faction in the divided Texas government who disobeyed the orders of Sam Houston to destroy the mission fort and retreated a month earlier.
