So, I've got this cousin. His name's John. We were really close when we were young. He's older than me. Anyway, I technically grew up with him, and then because my relationship with my dad wasn't so good, I started drifting from the rest of the family. Which I wish didn't happen, but sadly it did. So, because of that I'm basically out of the loop of information. I found out yesterday that John is going to boot camp. Which ultimately means he's in the army. He doesn't have to go to war, but in three years if it's still going on, he'll have to. Nonetheless, it still makes me upset. He won't be in NH. Which makes it harder. Knowing that he'll be far away. *Sigh* Here's the conversation we had yesterday: JMiNiLAXKiD24:hey kid... sadly i am going to the army Brittyb13:Seriously? JMiNiLAXKiD24:100% Brittyb13:why? JMiNiLAXKiD24:money, education. Brittyb13:Does that mean, you're actually going to go to Iraq? JMiNiLAXKiD24:not entirely. JMiNiLAXKiD24:and not for at least 3 years Brittyb13:Okay, good. JMiNiLAXKiD24:and by then, who knows how it will be. Brittyb13:Well, hopefully there won't be a war going on. JMiNiLAXKiD24:that's what im hopin for. Brittyb13:You best be alive to!! Otherwise I'm gonna have to kick some serious ass! Ha. JMiNiLAXKiD24: :-P JMiNiLAXKiD24:im too tough to die. Brittyb13:True. Brittyb13:So, are you like going somewhere? I mean, where are you going after boot camp? JMiNiLAXKiD24:im going to fort jackson, South Carolina for 9 weeks, and then Fort Sam Houston TX for 16 weeks. Brittyb13:What are you going to be doing? JMiNiLAXKiD24:medic. JMiNiLAXKiD24:im gonna save lives Brittyb13:Woot! Go you! Brittyb13:So basically, you'll kinda be like a vet after? JMiNiLAXKiD24:after 2 years, im technically a vet Brittyb13:Cool. Brittyb13:Did you know that I'm in NJROTC at my school? JMiNiLAXKiD24:NO! Brittyb13:Ha, I am. JMiNiLAXKiD24:are you planning on going anywhere after? Brittyb13:I don't know yet. I haven't decided. JMiNiLAXKiD24:what branch is it for? Brittyb13:Navy JMiNiLAXKiD24:ahhh JMiNiLAXKiD24:i thought about navy Brittyb13:You seriously have to meet Commander, he's so funny. JMiNiLAXKiD24:nice. Brittyb13:yeah JMiNiLAXKiD24:i honestly recommend going further. the benefits are amazing, they pay for college 100% Brittyb13:Yeah, I might. JMiNiLAXKiD24:that's why im doin it pretty much JMiNiLAXKiD24:i might join the ROTC at UNH when im back in school Brittyb13:That'd be cool. It's fun. Brittyb13:Hmm.. you should have told me sooner! MEANIEEE!! JMiNiLAXKiD24:haha im sorry JMiNiLAXKiD24:its written on my facebook. read it. Brittyb13:Ha, okay. Brittyb13:You're gonna miss my bday. :( I'm turning 16. I'm becoming an old fart like you. JMiNiLAXKiD24:haha i am pretty old. Brittyb13:lol Brittyb13:Are you gonna be the first one in our family that's enrolled in the army? JMiNiLAXKiD24:well, grampy was in the airforce Brittyb13:ooh JMiNiLAXKiD24:and leos father was a marine Brittyb13:Ah.. Brittyb13:Hmm... do you think you might become an officer or something? JMiNiLAXKiD24:it depends on what ROTC at UNH asks of me. JMiNiLAXKiD24:id rather not live there, but it would beat going away for another 6 months of officer candidate school Brittyb13:yeah Brittyb13:Well, even though I don't talk to you much, I still love you. So, just remember that, okay? JMiNiLAXKiD24:awww i love you too kiddo JMiNiLAXKiD24:give me your address. ill write you a letter or 2 Brittyb13:okay JMiNiLAXKiD24:my mom really misses you Brittyb13:I miss her too Brittyb13:A lot of crap has been happening the past few weeks JMiNiLAXKiD24:that's no good. JMiNiLAXKiD24:everything ok? Brittyb13:For now. Brittyb13:My mom like went nuts... Ha, to the extreme. She's better now though. JMiNiLAXKiD24:oh boy. Brittyb13:yeahh Brittyb13:that was fun Brittyb13:Anyway, I'm not feeling so well. So, I'm gonna go to bed. But remember, I always love ya!! That I do! I think of you as my brother, plus I look up to you, and let me know before you leave, okay?
