Pictures submitted
So, I finally submitted the pics I kept saying I was going to submit (sorry for the delay). I was in no hurry to enter them because I knew they wouldn't scan very well. I've been using my new scanner/printer/fax/copier for these last few pics 'cuz my other regular scanner isn't working. I like my new all-in-one, but I guess it's not really made for detailed scans, seeing as how it won't pick up subtle shading or very light colors. I don't even know why my old scanner won't work, but I do know that this is fustrating! >:(
Didn't work on my Naruto drawing at all today, or any other drawing for that matter. I just didn't feel like it. `_`

But I did go to the library today and I checked out some art technique books. Most are to teach about using types of pencil. I'm a 100% self-taught "artist" (I wouldn't really call myself an artist >_<) and I think that limits what I can do. I'm not bad at copying pictures (I use a reference for just about all my drawings), but when it comes to creating my own art from scratch, my skills are pretty basic. So hopefully I can experiment with some new techniques and learn something from these books.
Another thing I'd really like to learn how to do is to color my art (or create art) using computer programs like Photoshop. I have tried experimenting with programs before, but it took so long to do the most basic (and amaturish) shading. I know there are tons of techniques and stuff that I don't know how to use. I have seen some absolutely amazing CG fan (and other) art, which makes me feel like I'm really missing out on a great new art form. I will definitely have to take a class for that someday.
So, how did you guys get your art skills?
Well, I'm going to try to go to bed earlier today. My sleeping schedule has gotten seriously skewed over the last couple days. But I actually have things to do in the daytime later this week :P, so I need to get back on track.
Geez, didn't mean to write so much. Gotta stop now. :)
