Clone High DVD review
Clone High, my favorite series of all time, has come out(Canada only!) on DVD! So here's my by-episode reviews!
"Escape to Beer Mountain: A Rope of Sand" Episode: #1.1 - 2 November 2002- The first episode! We don't get an introduction to the characters, but fuck that, the dialog is gold in this episode! Plenty of memorable one-liners paired with some odd character development(An alcoholic Mahatma Gandhi? Comedy gold!)makes for a good start to a great series, 9/10
"Election Blu-Galoo" Episode: #1.2 - 3 November 2002- This episode is quite possibly is the most underrated episode of the entire series. Highlights include Abe smashing his head into a wall, an extremely stupid marketing campaign for a pancake batter-in-a-bottle product, a shark screaming(The funniest noise I've ever fuckin' heard)and Marilyn Manson lecturing Gandhi on nutrition....in song! 10/10
"A.D.D.: The Last 'D' Is for Disorder" Episode: #1.3 - 10 November 2002 - The second best episode of the series. Gandhi finds out he has A.D.D. and ends up shunded by everyone but Abe, who, with the help of famous A.D.D/A.D.H.D.er Tom Green, tries to teach everyone about the disorder, hilarity and homoerotic ensue. 10/10
"Film Fest: Tears of a Clone" Episode: #1.4 - 17 November 2002- Slow-paced and quite dull, strong subplot involving Genghis Khan trying to act and a football-playing giraffe screaming earn this a 6.5/10
"Sleep of Faith: La Rue D'Awakening" Episode: #1.5 - 24 November 2002- The dialog based episode. Gandhi spits some amusing musings and Abe staves off sleep for days. Plus seeing JFK in a car crash is fuckin' funny. 7.5/10
"Homecoming: A Shot in D'Arc" Episode: #1.6 - 1 December 2002- A typical episode of the series, funny quips, good sight gags, nothing special. 7/10
Plane Crazy: Gate Expectations" Episode: #1.7 - 8 December 2002- Jay's favorite episode. Cleo joins on to one of those idiotic spring break shows, Abe obesses over the fact that the newly-repaired letterman's jacket he lent her isn't visible on screen like he insisted. Gandhi tries to become a rap star, and JFK reveals his hobby, making albums of cheesy old seasonal music. 8.5/10
"Raisin the Stakes: A Rock Opera in Three Acts" Episode: #1.8 - 15 December 2002- The best episode of the lot! This episode is a drug-themed parody of all of those shitty films made based on classic rock albums and Broadway musicals, complete with a delightfully self-indlugent Abe refering to himself strictly as "Captain Lavender", Jack Black voicing two characters and singing some awesomely memorable songs. A solid 10/10. Plus, watch for a hilarious reference to those old Raisin Bran commercials that nearly no one will get, if you do, you'll join me as one of the three people on Earth who do get it.
"A Room of One's Clone: The Pie of the Storm" Episode: #1.9 - 12 January 2003- Another average one. 7/10
"Litter Kills: Litterally" Episode: #1.10 - 19 January 2003-The third best episode.
(I'll update later, wait a day)
