2005 NBA Champions
Ever since the Spurs got knocked out of the playoffs last year, I have been waiting to say these words: The Spurs are the NBA chamions. Oh God that feels good! It was Tim Duncan who lead them to victory, in the process becoming the 4th NBA player to win 3 finals MVP awards.

It was in the 3rd quarter, when things were looking worst that Duncan came through. The Spurs were down 9, and I was getting ready to call it a night, head to bed, and wake up to see what happenned. But the Spurs fan in me came out, and I decided to stay up and finish the game, and support my team. It was just minutes later that Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess (not spelled right) both got into foul trouble, and had to sit out. With only one true post player on the floor for the pistons, the Spurs capitolized, and fed Duncan the ball. Due to a series of easy baskets and great passes from Duncan, the Spurs came back from the 9 point deficit, and were able to take the lead going into the 4th.

With Detroit's big men back in the game, San Antoinio would have no easy time winning the game, but with Duncan and the rest of the Spurs in a rhythm, the spurs were in good shape to win the game. Great dunks from Manu Ginobli, key defensive plays from Bruce Bowen, and huge 3 pointers from both of those players sealed the deal for San Antonio, and made them the 2005 NBA champions.

Now, for my second, and final piece of NBA trivia. As before, the winner who gets it right will get a trip to a special website, and earn a place in my mind as a very knowledgable basketball fan (even if they only know the answer because they just read about it in the newspaper). Here's the question: Who is one of the three other players to win a finals MVP 3 times?

That's all for basketball posts.
