   The Shinobi
hi,

Chap 10- The hunter or the hunted?


The morning sun shone down through the trees as Jade opened her eyes to the sound of birds chirping.(damn sun.....damn birds...) Her eyes burned with tiredness.
She rolled over to escape the light but then Raylana whinnied pitifully with hunger. Animals always melted her distant heart. Jade sighed face down. (I guess the world wants me to get up now....)Standing up was a harder task then she thought, her side throbbed and her muscles were stiff from the ground. She caught a glimpse of Feore, he was sleeping against a tree trunk and he looked more handsome than ever. The bruises on his face made her feel a little guilty about hurting him when he was only trying to help.(stop it......he kidnapped you remember? )Determined on reaching the horses Jade turned away and shuffled over to them.It was getting harder to walk ,the pain in her side was only increasing in ferocity. She drew on the last of her energy and finally made it to the tree they were tied too. Raylana pranced happily while Jumiyo nickered to her. They made the pain worth it. "What did I say about escaping until youre well!?" an annoyed voice said behind her.
(grrrrrrrr...) "Im not trying to escape.....the horses need food....and you were sleeping." She said in a forced monotone without turning around. Jade began working on untying the knot that held the horses so she didnt have to look at Feores face. (the last thing I want is a guilt trip....) Feore appeared beside her and gently nudged her aside. "Ill do it....your falcon would like a word with you..." She went rigid. (so...so that means he can talk to Sherack too?) Jade didnt say anything about it. She wasnt the type of person to just ask questions like,
Hey can you talk to my bird? No way. A small boulder perfect for sitting wasnt too far away so she slowly went to it and sat. Not seeing Sherack anywhere she whistled loudly into the trees. Immediately the brown falcon glided from a hidden perch to her shoulder, twittering happily.(hello love.) Hello Jade....his voice echoed in her head.
How are you feeling? (always worrying......im doing better...just a little sore.) Good...good. Sheracks head swiveled towards Feore, who was feeding and loading the horses. I admire your handiwork...he said in an amused tone.
Her eyes flickered to Feores face. The guilt returned worse than ever.( I dont.....he was only trying to help me...) Nonsense...now he knows that you can and will protect yourself if needed. Jade smiled and nuzzled his magnificent head. (Go make yourself useful you crazy bird....be careful) As always... Sherack lovingly nuzzled her one last time then took off into the sky. She was sad to see him leave. Suddenly a warm hand fell on her shoulder making her jump.(how does he keep sneaking up on me like this!!!) "Breakfast is ready if youre interested...." Feore said quietly. She pushed her anger back down.
"I dont think my stomach is quite ready for food thanks...."Jade replied looking at the ground. He sighed. "As you wish, maybe you should put your armor back on then, were leaving in a few minutes." He removed his hand then walked over to the horses to make sure they were ready. The rest of her armor lay in a heap over by the fire.
She hadnt even remembered that most of it was off. The armor was so well made it was more like a second skin. Somehow Jade managed to put the rest of it on and mount Raylana without any help from Feore. He rode up beside her
and said sweetly, "Ready to go?" "Always." She said then discretely placed the magnolia back into her hair that she was hiding in her pocket. Without another word Jade kicked Raylana into a gallop and rode into the dawn.

Traveling was getting harder as they left the Shoguns realm. Every time they saw a wagon or person on the road they had to ride past them through the overgrown forest. Jade had trouble with this because her movement was restricted, so Feore ended up leading Raylana and her along behind him.After 20 frustrating minutes of dead ends and thick vines they turned back onto the road. Both were silent as stone. The sun beat down
so hot that the road was cracked with dryness,and no wind came to relieve them. Feore armor had slowly turned into an oven, he was dripping with sweat and his resistance was steadily fading. Jade went limp in her saddle,the heat was getting to her too. Feore gazed at her protectively.(We have to stop soon.....her wounds need treatment and were running out of food..) Even though Edo was miles behind them, he didnt dare relax. No sound or movement escaped his accelerated senses. He knew all to well of the Shoguns determination on catching criminals. (damn sun.....) A dove was sitting on a low hanging branch peering at him. It cocked its head curiously.(a pitiful meal...but it will do...)He drew his prized dagger out of its sheath and skillfully threw it at the helpless dove. With a screech of surprise it vanished in a puff of feathers and dropped to the ground. Jade gasped in horror but didnt say anything. She growled to herself softly then nudged Raylana into a trot.(im going to pay for this later.....I just know it.) Feore said a prayer for the bird and rode over to pick it up. Suddenly several hoof beats ripped the silence in half. They were approaching fast. Jade heard it too. She was frozen against Raylana and looking at him frightened.(The shoguns men.....it cant be...)Feore sprung into action and yelled,
"JADE!!! RUN!" He kicked Jumiyo hard and dove into the forest with Jade close behind.
They ran blindly passed trees and bushes, narrowly missing several. Jumiyo kept slipping on vines and branches so it took all of Feores skill to hold on. "FEORE!!! There coming!!" Jade screeched behind him.He glanced over his shoulder and saw about 6 samurais coming up fast. At the cry from there leader 2 archers fired a stream of arrows at Jade while they laughed. All but one bounced off her armor and imbedded itself in her back.She screamed and collapsed against Raylana. The frightened horse whinnied and kept running, Jade bouncing limply on her back. All thoughts and fear left Feore. Instincts and training took over.

   just singing in the rain......
hello, Why im up at this god awful hour i dont know but im sooo jazzed right know! Its raining! WHOOP! That means i get to go and play around in my element for a few hours.sweet........and if im in the mood for getting stared at ill wear a white t-shirt.maybe.... so whats your element? dont know? go to quizzila. theve got so many quizzes about that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter 9- theres a fine line between bravery and stubborness ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As soon as Jade heard Feores deep breathing she opened one green eye.(still dark...good.)She gingerly sat up,ignoring the stabs of pain on her side.Her eyes fell on Feore.He looked almost godly while he slept silently.Jade caught herself staring after a minute.(grrrrrr....knock it off!!!)The horses were a good 10 feet away across the clearing.It would take everything she had to reach them.Determined to escape,she silently rose from the blanket, grabbed her mask, and began to creep towards Raylana.She heard Feore rustle and froze,warily she glanced over her shoulder at him.He was still asleep.(hurry hurry hurry...) With a burst of strength she began to run for Raylana and......fell hard on her face.Red spots danced before her eyes while her side raged with fresh pain.She moaned with agony.A chuckle met her ears.She managed to roll over and saw Feore standing over her holding an almost invisible piece of string. Her agile eyes followed the end of it and discovered it tied to her ankle. "You know....theres a very fine line between bravery and stubborness." She began cursing under her breath. "Now now Jade, you know ive learned to never underestimate your will.So why the surprised look?" (That bastards enjoying this!!!!) That he was. A huge grin was plastered to his face while his eyes danced with amusement.With the dirtiest look she could muster she replied icily, "Why dont you go take a long walk off a short cliff......" His expression didnt falter. "My my,arent we a feisty one? Now back to bed." (fuck you...) Feore attempted to pick her up but instead got elbowed in the face.He yelped and backed away clutching his face. "GO AWAY!!" She screeched and whistled to Raylana.The mare tried to go to her but was tightly tied to a tree.Raylana gave an annoyed whinny and dug into the ground,straining the leather rope for all its worth.It creaked with tension but wouldnt snap.Jade stood up shakily and made for the rope to untie it.Suddenly a dagger whizzed past her face,and pinned her shirt to the tree.Jade yelped in surprise and instinctively froze with fear.Feore grabbed her and jerked her around to face him. "What part of, the Shogun is trying to kill you dont you understand!!!!" He snapped to her,all patience lone gone. "He wont stop until your dead Jade!!!" His voice was beginning to leak emotion.This successfully shocked her.(what the ?........) His blue eyes bore into her soul. "Your only way of surviving is to stay with me....and not trying to escape every day!" He added with malice.Unable to stand his gaze she hung her head with submission. "Sorry..." she muttered brokenly. Feores grip on her lightened and pulled her toward him in an embrace. She froze for only a second then returned it.Her soft body melted with his hard one as if they were meant to be. "I wont run anymore...." she whispered to him.He answered by hugging her tighter. "OUCH!!: she yelped at the pressure on her side. "Sorry ...." he muttered and jumped back. "Its ok..." Jade replied and smiled at him for the first time.She had wanted to shock him and succeded,he was frozen in mid-step and his expression was shocked.He quickly regained his composure and grabbed her hand possessively. "Bed!" He said sharply and slowly guided her back to the blanket.Jade laughed on the inside. He laid her down then joked to her, "Now promise no more escape attempts until youre well....got it?" Jade began laughing but quickly stopped because it hurt. "Ok.....I promise." She said sleepily then rolled over and let sleep claim her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Feore possessively watched her until he was absolutely sure she was asleep.He sighed and gently touched his throbbing face.It hurt. He fished a mirror out of a saddle bag and peered at himself.A black eye was already beginning to form along with many other bruises along his lip and jaw.(damn that girl has a temper!!!)Feore couldnt resist smiling then prepared a wet cloth to soothe his face.He pressed the rag to his eye and sighed.It felt good.Jumiyo nickered for attention across the clearing.Feore tried to ignore him but his heart quickly melted,as it always did with animals.Tiredly Feore ambled to Jumiyo and stroked his gray head.The horse nickered comfortably. After a few more strokes Feore stumbled to the base of a tree and sat down, resting his tired back against the bark.His eyes fell on the sleeping Jade.(shes so pretty when she sleeps, and a lot less hostile.) Enjoying the view Feore?.........a familiar voice chided in his head. Startled he looked wildly for Sherack until he spotted him on a low hanging Willow branch.(And what do I owe this gracious visit Sherack..?) Can you just feel the love? The voice replied icily. Just came to check on my mistress, and if necessary to enforce my promise. (oh i didnt forget....I still have those lovely gashes by the way.) The falcon bounced on the branch,almost as if he were laughing. Good....I can also see that youre sporting some new wounds.now how did that happen? the voice said in a mocking tone.Annoyed and embarrassed Feore layed down,hiding his face. (go to sleep! She will still be here in the morning you crazy falcon!) and dont you ever forget it....Sherack chided smugly. Feore growled in response then let the steady rhythm of Jades breathing lull him to sleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ im all wet....just ran out in the rain.man its POURING out there.and yes i wore a white t-shirt.*snicker* bye bye. ice

The Shinobi
Please forgive the bad grammar and ramblings of this chapter.I had a dream like this but its really hard to explain.....please bear with me if you love me.(If you say you dont ill stalk you.....^_^ in a good way.)





Chapter 8- The person behind the mask

(Meanwhile at the Shoguns castle...)

The Shogun watched the sun set behind the mountains as he stood on the balcony.(The 3rd day has gone....)He glanced down at the city below,every street was visible from this high up, nothing seemed out of the ordinary.No strange looking horses or men,no crowds parting to make way for a Shinobi,nothing.(and that Shinobi has not come...)He sighed and turned around, staring into his elaborately decorated room. "Shaharu...come forward."
He muttered into the darkness.A man dressed entirely in black armor materialized out of the shadows.Shaharu walked to the Shinobi and bowed. "At your service my lord..." he said to the floor.The Shogun shivered on the inside.The mans voice was like ice. "I have a mission for you...."he said,not acknowledging Shaharu. "I am ready..." "Good." (I lose so many Shinobis this way...)He smiled quickly then continued. "A new Shinobi in my service has failed to complete his assignment.His time has run out and has not come forward to receive his punishment for failure.Find and kill him.He may be traveling with
someone......kill them too.Do not return....... until both of their heads are at my feet." The Shogun said in a monotone. "I will master." Shaharu said icily. "Leave me."The Shogun growled and turned again. Shaharu got up,bowed, and dissolved into the gloom of the shadows. "You will not escape Shinobi....no matter how well you hide."

Feore and Jade rode together in silence.The sun was high in the morning sky,making everything look beautiful.Jade hadnt moved for the past hour,or spoken.Her head was down low and her body slumped in the saddle.It seemed only sheer will was keeping her on Raylana.(She must be in alot of pain....probably in more ways then one.)
He glanced at her again quickly,still no movement.He wished he could see her face,but the mask was hiding it.They passed some trees with low magnolias growing on them.(girls like flowers....) Feore picked one from his saddle and rode over to the motionless Jade. "Hey..." he said to her. She didnt say anything, but turned slightly to look at him. "Cheer up...The worst has yet to come." He laid the magnolia in her lap and eased Jumiyo away from them to the other side of the rode.She stared at it for a moment,then slowly picked it up and put it in her hair.Feore broke out into a huge grin behind his mask.
(maybe there really is a person under there.)She sat up straight for a second,then yelped in pain and slumped back to her original position.(we need to stop.she needs to rest.)Feore began to search for a good place then saw a small, well hidden clearing in the forest. "Hey Jade! Lets stop for a while alright." She didnt object,just obediently followed Feore to the spot.Feore slid off Jumiyo then walked towards her.He gently eased her off the horse expecting her to object,but she stayed silent and limp.(ok,now im scared...usually ive at least been yelled at or something!!)The clearing was small,but he was glad for it.With his one free arm,he wrestled a blanket out of his saddlebag and layed it on the ground.Feore gently layed her down on it and took of her mask.She was white and sweating,and her lips were dry and cracked.He quickly began to take of her armor
then gave her some of the water out of the canteen.Jade barely responded except for gulping down the water.He undid her shirt and saw that the bandages were soaked red with blood.Feore quickly began to undo them but stopped when he reached the upper part of them that covered her breasts. "Just hurry up...." she rasped and tightly shut her eyes.(now shes REALLY scaring me!!!) As quickly as he could Feore replaced the soaked bandages and cleaned her wounds.Her breathing was labored. "Sit tight.." he whispered to her.Feore started a small fire and boiled some tea and herbs that he hoped would help.Suddenly remembering the horses he tied them to a sturdy tree with a rope long enough to let them graze.The tea was boiling so he filled a cup with it and walked back over to the motionless Jade. "Can you sit up?" he said softly. "No..." she managed to whisper.He put the cup down and picked her up lightly,he put her in his lap.She opened her eyes,confused. "What are yo-?" "Sssssshhhh." He quieted her. "Try to drink this...it will help with the pain." Feore raised the cup to her lips slowly and she took a labored sip. "Good....now another..as much as you can."After a while the tea was gone and dusk was upon them.(crap....unless we move quicker we wont make it.)He began stroking her hair
and murmered a soft song his mother taught him.

He felt her relax in his arms so he layed her back down on the blanket and stared up at the starry skies.(i miss you okaa-saan....)He glanced back at Jade. Her expression was unreadable,as it almost always was.Her eyes were the only thing really alive about her.They were constantly looking around, taking in everything. Thanks Feore.... she whispered before falling asleep.He stared at her and felt a smile creep up on his lips.The magnolia was still in her hair. Youre welcome...Jade. He whispered......

The Shinobi
Psssh,
In a way im sorta pissed of at the world right now.This morning i get dressed and actually look halfway pretty for once.Then i go outside to feed my dogs...big mistake.turns out it had rained last night and my backyard was reduced to one big mud puddle.Then my lovely dogs decide to ju
mp all over me and decorate me with a million muddy paw prints.Then i realize im late and my carpool pulls up..i didnt have any time to change so i had to walk around like that...all day.fucking popular people had a field day making me feel miserable.but, what goes around comes around right....RIGHT????

Chapter 7-The truth comes out

Feore continued to hold Jade until her tears stopped and she fell asleep.Once again he laid her down and began to polish the armor,deep in thought.(What can this mean?)He polished the armor until it shined with an alien glow.(Perfect.....)His blue eyes flickered over to the sleeping girl,( just like her....)He sighed and got up to go outside,
his stomach did a flip flop as he watched the sun set.(Her injuries have gotten better....
we have to leave tomorrow for sure....even if i have to carry her.)One more day until he was going to hunted down like a rabbit in a garden patch.(The girl will need training too.......)Feore sighed and began to pack the necessities for the trip.They couldnt stop at any towns so he had to bring lots of supplies.(Food, arrows, bow, weapons.....)He mentally ticked off the items packed and leaned against Jumiyo exaughsted.The gray horse nickered and lovingly rubbed his head up against Feore. "Good boy." He caught the black mares eye and stared.It was almost as if she was warning him of her wrath too.He tried to win her favor with a sugar cube but the horse just turned away from him and snorted.(That girls trained her too well...)He smiled and wandered back to his room to sleep. He silently pushed open the reed door and gasped. A beam of moonlight was shining off her face as she slept and hair pooled around her head like a halo.She looked almost angelic.Feore watched the girl for a long time.She was simply mezmorizing.He snapped out of her trance when she rolled over.(Stop staring!!!)Feore collapsed onto the floor and drifted to sleep.

The next morning he awoke to see the girl sitting up examining a piece of her new armor. "Do you like it?" He said carefully.She jumped a little and replied "Yes....its very beautiful.....is this for me?" She hooked him with her green eyes and stared. "Yes it is.You needed a disguise and my old armor seemed perfect." He rambled at her. She raised an eyebrow at him, "And why.....would i need a disguise Shinobi?" He sighed.(its always an argument with her..) "First of all....my name isnt Shinobi.Its Feore." "I know." She said simply. "How do you know that?!Ive never told you my name before!" He growled at her. She easily drained his patience and it was making him mad. "Sherack told me...." She looked back down at the piece of armor she was holding and turned it over in her hands. "My name is Jade by the way..." she whispered to the floor. "Beautiful.." Feore whispered before he could stop himself. She dropped the piece of armor and stared at him.The air was uncomfortably silent.He hastily turned around embarassed.His cheeks burned red.
Jade decided to spare him by saying, "You didnt answer my question.....Feore."
He quickly regained his composure and turned to face her again. "Its a long story." He sighed to her.
"I have lots of time."Her green eyes drilled into him. He stared at her again then sighed in defeat. "Fine.....Your family has been living on a parcel of the Shoguns land for many years.He claims that he hasnt received any payment for your staying there and you refused to obey his warnings to leave.So....he hired me to kill the families only heir.You......The Shogun gave me 3 days to complete my assignment,or face the consequences of treason.So I came to the estate,ready for anything." He swallowed nervously then continued a little stronger. "But I couldnt bring myself to do it.So now that today is the 3rd day,and your head is not at the Shoguns feet.We will both soon be hunted down and slaughtered like cattle." She gulped.
"Thats why....you need a disguise.We will be leaving at sunset.I suggest you prepare..."
With that he swept out of the room to finish packing the horses.

Jades mind was racing.(Father was willing to risk our lives.... just to stay on the estate
and increase his business??!!!!)She clenched her fists and teeth in anger.But it quickly turned to tears of sorrow.(oh Father.....how could you?)Jade let the tears go.She buried her face into her hands and wept....for herself....for her life....for her Mother.A familiar voice echoed into her mind. Its alright sweet mistress.....Dont cry anymore,ill protect you.
"Sherack?!" She cried out in happiness. Yes my mistress! Im here! Jade lifted the falcon into her lap and stroked his head,trying to piece herself back together. "Oh Sherack....
Im so scared.....ive never had to run for my life before." She whispered into his feathers.
Dry your tears....i promise to always be with you. She smiled for the first time in days and hugged Sherack lightly. "I love you Sherack..." I love you too my mistress..
The falcon nuzzled her face one last time then flew out the open door into the blue sky. Your mother is very proud of you Jade....She sadly watched him soar away then managed to stand up.The pain was still there,but not as brutally.The armor was scattered around the room so it took her a long time to gather it all.Once she had all the pieces she began the puzzle of putting it on.(arm links...arms.....mask.....face.....chest plate.....chest...katana...
KATANA?)Yes,it was definitely a katana.Jade had never touched one in her life....her father had forbidden it.(well fathers not here now is he...)She very slowly pulled it out
of the black scabbard,it rang out softly as she pulled it all the way out.She was mesmerized by the mirror like surface and the elegant curve of its blade. "Beautiful isnt it?"
A voice said behind her.She jumped a little and replied in an annoyed monotone. "Very..
Dont sneak up on me Feore...its not polite..."She turned around to face him.He was dressed in his full armor and leaning against the doorway. He chuckled and replied, "My armor fits you well...im glad." He circled around her...examining every curve and surface.(vulture.....)
"Here.." he held out the mask. "Try it on.." She took it warily.For some reason she couldnt bring herself to trust him.Jade slipped it over the helmet and secured it in place. Feore
let out a grin. "Perfect fit.Its almost as if it were meant for you." He stopped staring and fidgeted a little.She smiled at his discomfort behind the mask. He walked out of the room and called out over his shoulder "Come on Jade,the horses are ready." Jade followed behind him about 6 feet away,going at a leisurely pace.Her wounds were better,but they still hurt pretty badly.Feore turned into a court yard and walked towards a wooden shed. "I have a surprise for you..."He said,opening the door for her. She looked at him for a second then stepped into the shed.There was Raylana,her black coat shining in the shadows. "Raylana!!"
Jade cried out in happiness.Despite her injuries she ran to the horse and hugged her neck.
"How did you catch her?" She asked,still petting the horse. "Luckily didnt have too.I found her wandering around the courtyard...probably looking for you."He said in an amused tone.He was glad she was happy.(Maybe she wont be so scared if she has that horse with her while were traveling.) "We have to leave now Jade." Feore opened the huge stable door and turned to face her. "Do you need help getting on your horse?" She called to Feore.He smiled at her behind his mask and mounted Jumiyo. Yes... He whispered to himself Lets..
Together they rode of into the sunset, unaware of the danger ahead.

The Shinobi
Have any of you girls ouy there ever wished that 2 guys would fight over you?Did you imagine how fun and romantic it would be?Reality check.
It sucks.magorly.....

Chapter 6- The forgotten armor


The room was empty.(Where the hell did she go?!)He rocketed into the courtyard and looked around wildly for her. Then he saw her,she was about 30 yards away taking very tiny steps trying to escape.(if she isnt a kunochi I dont know what she is..)He jogged over to her and said "What are you trying to do exactly?" She didnt stop,just kept inching away from him."Youre to hurt to walk!!come back and lay down for god sakes!"he cried out to her."I dont need you.....im fine.....you did this to me...remember.?"she panted.Feore felt the familiar stab of guilt but pressed on."Eiether come back on your own or I make you..."he growled to her.His patience was wearing dangerously thin with her."Id like to see you try baka...." That did it.He quickly but carefully scooped her up bridal style and began walking back to his room."HEY!!! Put me down!!!"She shrieked,
trying to hit him."No" She suddenly stopped struggling and went limp in his arms.(I guess shes hurting pretty badly for her to just stop resisting like this....)This was true.
She was panting with pain and her forehead began to sweat."Dont.......think....this....makes......you...better.... then......... me."She managed to rasp before passing out again.Fresh blood began seeping through her bandages while he carried her.(oh crap...all this struggling has made her wounds open up again.)He carried her back to his room and carefully laid her down.(I dont even know her name yet and ive already seen her with her kimono off.)He thought with a smile.Feore put on the new bandages and began to wipe her face with a damp cloth.(so pretty.....yet dangerous.)She had given him a pretty rough rundown after all.(we have to get away from here as soon as possible.....2 more days and the Shogun will send his army after me....and her.)Feore watched her silently breathing in and out.(she will need a disguise...my old armor will work perfectly!)He rushed over to a large trunk in the corner and opened it.A much smaller and less decorated version of his armor lay inside gathering dust.He pulled it out and examined it.(She can play a Kunochi.....that shouldnt be to hard for her...she definitely has the spirit.)Feore smiled and began making adjustments to the old armor.
(We will leave tomorrow at sunset....i just have to find her horse.)Luckily he didnt have too,a whinny pierced his ears and a familiar black mare poked her head through the door.
Feore quickly grabbed her mane and lead her to the stables.(is there any animal that shes not friends with?!!!)He stroked the horses head absentmindedly while he thought of how to complete the journey......

Back at Feores room Jade awoke delirious and in blinding pain.(Fuck!!! If i survive these injuries im going to kill that bastard!!)She quickly realized that except for the bandages she was topless.Her cheeks burned red and her heart filled with anger again.
(youre as good as dead Shinobi!)Exhaughsted she fell asleep and dreamt of her and Raylana galloping through a field of endless flowers.The sun was shining and Sherack glided above them.She laughed and enjoyed the wing rippling through her hair.Suddenly the sun disappeared and the sky grew dark.Sherack was gone and Raylana was prancing in fear.Raylana began bucking and Jade was quickly thrown off.She disappeared into the horizon.Scared,Jade began to run after her but Raylana was lone gone.She heard a noise behind her."Shinobi??Is that you?"Jade turned around and saw a figure dressed entirely in black walking towards her slowly.The flowers wilted and died wherever he stepped."Jade..."he hissed.His voice made her blood run cold."Im coming for you Jade...."he slowly drew a katana and kept coming for her."You will not escape!"
Suddenly he ran towards her and thrust down the katana.But just before it hit she awoke screaming and sweating."Whats wrong!?"Feore abandoned the armor he was polishing and sped to her side."hes coming......hes coming...."She whispered brokenly."Whos coming?" "the man......hes coming...."Jade then burst into tears and collapsed against Feore.He was surprised for a second but then quickly began to stroke her back trying to comfort her.He was worried.Very worried.(could she have had a premonition?)

   The Shinobi
hey guys,
My gramma begged me to go shopping with her today so i did.I found another shark pool.It was hard enough keeping my own balance but i had to protect her from all the crazy people.Lets just say a few of them flew a little before hitting the ground.ha ha ha ha... no body messes with my gramma.....

chapter 5-The Rundown


Feore kicked Jumiyo harder in anticipation.They were slowly closing in on them.
(how can I get her to stop?.....)He couldnt throw his dagger, he couldnt use his ninja stars,there was just no way he could stop her without killing her.(you have sleeping gas you idiot....)Feore scoffed at himself for such stupidity.He began digging in his saddle bag while he steered Jumiyo.This was not an easy task.A moment later he pulled out 3 small black containers.He bit the top off of one and threw it as a hard as he could in front of the black horse. Crimson smoke immediately began pouring out as it flew threw the air.
It landed a few yards in front of the horse and began turning the air red.The black horse reared up in fear and began prancing on its rear legs.The girl held on tightly but without reins to hold on to she slid down the horses back and fell hard on the ground.She didnt get up.(fuck!!that horse is gonna kill her!)He drove Jumiyo hard into the horses side,driving it away from the girl.It tried to run around him but Feore kept herding it back.
The horse finally gave up and ran off down the road.(now wheres that girl?)Feore spotted her limp frame amongst the thick smoke.The smoke didnt affect him,his mask had a filter.
He swung off Jumiyo and walked towards her.Her forehead had a deep gash and her kimono was stained with blood.(to much blood.....WAY to much blood.)Feore gently picked her up and slung her across Jumiyos back.He remounted and kicked Jumiyo into a dead run.If he didnt get home fast the girl could die.He drove Jumiyo with one hand and held the girl onto the saddle with the other.The rain made visibility impossible and the moon had gone behind a cloud."Take us home Jumiyo....I trust your instincts."He let go of the reins,he knew Jumiyo could find their way home.He brushed her black hair away from her face and held her close to his chest.(im so sorry....i didnt mean for you to get hurt.please dont die...i dont want to lose you again.)The rain began to make droplets on her beautiful face,he brushed them away and made sure she was still breathing.She was,barely.Jumiyo suddenly turned onto a private road and galloped faster.They were home.(good job Jumiyo...i knew you could do it..)Jumiyo automatically ran into his stable and whinnied to Feore.He didnt waste time,
Feore jumped down and eased the girl into his arms.Carrying her bridal style he ran to his room and shut the reed door.His mask dropped to the floor along with his arm cuffs.They restritcted his movement.Gently he set her down onto his sleeping mat and ran to get some bandages.He returned seconds later with his arms full.He remembered his past medical training
and began to undo her kimono.He gasped,it was worse then he thought.Ugly bruises covered her chest and stomach along with a deep cut on her side.The cut on her hand had worsened,it had opened wider and was gushing blood.Feore carefully began to patch her up.Swallowing his guilt as he moved to the cut on her side.He carefully cleaned it then wrapped it in clean gauze.a long time later her body was covered in bandages and her breathing was better.Exhaughsted he dropped onto the floor and watched her chest rise and fall.He could see her face better in the candle light,she was beautiful.....Her ebony black hair fell to about her shoulders then curled outword.It was strange for a woman to cut her hair.Her teeth werent died black eiether,as was the fashion.He decided he liked her natural beauty better then black teeth and long hair and sighed,slumping against the wall.He yawned and let sleep come,not taking his eyes off her for a second.(A/N-he watched her until he fell asleep.)

The last thing Jade remembered before passing out was Raylana rearing up
onto her hind legs.....then the ground rushing up to meet her.The scene kept replaying itself in her mind as she slept.She opened one green eye,her vision was blurred and the room was spinning.She quickly shut it again.Jade also noticed that everything just hurt.
Plain and simple.(god....what happened?) Then it hit her.( That Shinobi did this to me...
He made Raylana throw me off.......He cut my hand....He ruined my life...)Her heart filled
with anger and she suddenly became determined.Ignoring the pain she very very slowly sat up and opened her eyes.(at least the room isnt spinning anymore.....)The room slowly came into focus and she looked around wondering where she was.Then her eyes fell on Feore.(that baka......wheres that dagger?)For the first time she saw his face, he was very handsome. His long black hair was tied into a ponytail and his face was soft. Her heart softened a little.(he could have killed me.....but he didnt...why?)Feore stirred and opened his piercing blue eyes.He quickly woke up and and whispered "youre awake...thats good..."She said nothing....Just kept staring into his blue eyes."Do you have any water?" she rasped. Her throat felt like it was on fire.He nodded and fished a canteen out of his bag. He brought it slowly to her lips and supported her head while she gulped it down.
"Thank you......"she whispered, looking down at the floor.A sudden shock wave of pain flooded through her and she cried out."Whats wrong!!?"Feore was at her side in a second and forcefully laid her back down."Why are you doing this?..."she whimpered pitifully."Try to kill me then feel bad about it and nurse be back to health?If you do care then just kill me."Feore stared at her.(only a Kunochi would say something like that......is she one?maybe not in body but in spirit most definitely.)"No.."he whispered."Stop looking at me like you know me baka..."she growled,meeting his gaze.Her eyes enchanted him,
(so sad yet full of spirit...)they were emerald green with flecks of gold in the center."I said stop it...."she growled again.Feore sighed and left his room,leaving Jade to her thoughts.He wandered into the courtyard and saw Sherack sitting in a Willow tree.
(What do you want Sherack?! Im having a bad day....)It was still raining pretty hard
but it was no where near last night.The familiar voice chimed in his head again.
You think YOURE having a bad day???? What about my poor mistress?You almost killed her,i should peck your eyes out right now!!!! Sherack spread his wings in anger and cried out at him.(Youre....mistress?)Yes my mistress!!! The voice inside his head shrieked.She has raised me since I was mere chick and I have served her loyally ever since.Now tell me WHY you tried to kill her????Sherack paced on the branch and hissed at Feore.(I.....I was ordered to do it...I didnt have a choice. Her family was living on the Shoguns land without permission....and he wanted the familys heirs head as payment.)Well if she does die youll have me and many other more dangerous animals to deal with!!! I CAN PROMISE YOU THAT!!!! With that Sherack took off into the sky,
grazing Feores arm with his talons as he left." OUCH!!" Thats just a sample of my wrath
Shinobi...the voice growled in his head.Feores arm sported 4 deep slashes about 6 inches long each.Blood began to ooze out of them onto the ground.(you had better not die girl...)
Feore sighed and headed back to his room.(I hope she passed out again..)He gasped when he looked into his room.(No way...)

Im sorry for the confusion when Feore talks to Sherack.Thats the only way i could do it.by the way,
they talk to each other mentally.

   The Shinobi

Chapter 4-A moonlit ride


Feore let Jumiyo run his own pace and looked up at the stars. He used to watch them often when he was young, a way to escape the memories of his brutal training. His mind wandered back to his assignment. (I have to be brave..oh kami give me strength.)
Why him? Why not one of the more experienced Shinobis? He involuntarily pulled back the reins in anger making Jumiyo rear up on his hind legs."Whoa boy, easy easy."
Jumiyo nickered in discomfort and galloped faster. Feore saw his home just up the road and sighed in relief. All he wanted to do was collapse onto his sleeping mat and dream.
(hopefully not about that girl either.) He put Jumiyo into his stall and wandered toward
his room.(gods what a day.)He slowly shed his armor and allowed his weary body to sleep.It was raining again when he woke up.He enjoyed the short delusion of thinking that today was the day he would receive his first orders from the shogun.Then reality
hit him like a ton of bricks.He moaned and got up.(I need to meditate..)Feore staggered out into the rain and let it wash over him.He sighed in comfort and wandered twords the koi pond.His reflection greeted him in the water while the colorful koi darted back and forth hoping for food. He stared at the water and tried to relax. Then he suddenly gasped,
there was the girl standing next to him.Feore whipped around but saw nothing there.
He glanced back at the water and there she was,staring at him with her sad green eyes.
She was pretty, but the deeply set frown on her face sorta ruined it.She slowly began to reach for him but a large koi swam past and rippled the water, making her disappear.
Why do you haunt me?....he whispered to the water.Why?? Feore made his way back to his room to dry off and eat breakfast.He tried to keep busy, but quickly ran out of things to do.The rain began to come down harder and a weird sight caught his eye.A large falcon was perched in a nearby tree watching his every move.Feore rubbed his eyes to make sure it wasnt another hallucination.But the bird still remained.It cocked its magnificent head at him and glided to the roof as if it wanted a better view of Feore.(im going crazy...) no youre not...a voice inside his head chimed. crazy people dont think there going crazy...
they think there perfectly fine.(what?? Who are you?) silence.then it replied again. I am Sherack ,a friend of a friend you might say(are you? are you that falcon on my roof?) oooh youre a smart one arent you? Yes,I am now stop gaping at me and tell me your name.(f..Feore)Feore eh? Well Feore I would advise you on getting out of this rain.You might catch a cold. Feore nodded, dumbstruck. Sayonara..and with that the Falcon took of into the rain,snatching a koi from the pond as he left.Feore stared out into the rain for another minute before heading to his room to dawn his armor.(I did not just talk to a bird..I did not just talk to a bird...)He rubbed the armors mask and put it on.
Talking birds or no talking birds he WAS going to complete his mission.Determined he saddled Jumiyo and swung onto his back."yah!! Jumiyo!!"The horse whinnied and galloped off down the road.A full moon shown down through the rain as he rode fast.To short of a time later Feore could see the merchants household through the rain.He tied up Jumiyo under the cover off a tree and slinked towords the house.The guards were sleeping at their posts and no one was
seen anywhere.(good...no more then one head needed tonight..)He silently slit open one of the thin paper walls with his razor sharp katana and crept inside.Again no one was seen.Thunder
suddenly boomed spooking him for a second.But he shrugged it off and crept towards a bedroom door.He opened it silently and peered inside,a girl with short black hair was looking out her window.
(this must be the heir.)She didnt notice him and kept looking out her window.Feore silently drew his dagger and began to creep towards her.

Jade watched Sherack disappear into the darkening sky.(lucky bird. I wish I could fly.)It began to rain so she wandered into her room.Shadow greeted her with a hungry
Meow and began rubbing against her legs."ok ok Shadow.dinner time."She gave her some old tuna from yesterdays dinner and slinked back to her room to read. Jade loved to read and write poetry..A long time later thunder boomed causing her to fall out of bed.
(owww.I wonder if Sheracks back yet?)She crawled to her window and peered out into the rain.No Sherack,but it was gorgeous outside.The full moon shining down through the rain and the trees were decorated with a million rain drops.She sighed and was about to turn around when she suddenly felt cold steel biting against her neck."Dont..move...."a voice hissed in her ear.Jade decided to do the exact opposite,she grabbed the blade and twisted it around disarming him and cutting her hand in the process.He jumped back surprised and gasped when he saw her face."Its..........you??"
he whispered.(oh my god..)It was the Shinobi she had seen in Edo.Her breath froze in her throat and she almost dropped the dagger.They stood staring at each other while the thunder cracked and boomed outside.Her hand was steadily creating a puddle of blood as she stood there frozen in fear."Give it back."he growled to her."No way baka.."Her bravery was strange to Feore.Before she had run away at his mere presence."oh,I see,
youre going to kill me then?"he said in a mocking tone."well then go ahead."Feore spread his arms wide and stepped forward so she was in range.Jade kept staring back at him with the dirtiest look she could muster."Thats what I thought." Pulling the same move she did on him he flipped the blade around disarming her,except he didnt cut himself.While he sheathed the dagger she bolted past him out her open bedroom door."HEY!!"Feore chased after her but she was smaller and more agile then he was.Jade burst through the thin paper front door and sprinted towards the stables.Feore was having trouble keeping up.His armor was heavy and he kept slipping in the mud.(Youre not escaping me again!!!!)Jade jumped on Raylana bareback and kicked her into a dead run.(faster?faster?.FASTER!!)"Hurry Raylana hurry!!!!"Jade kicked her harder and they bolted down the road.She heard hoofbeats,the Shinobi was following close behind.(oh crap!!its not a battle horse!!)
This was true,Jumiyo was the same breed as Raylana and was almost as fast.Feore could barely make out the girl just ahead of him.The horse was blending in perfectly with the surroundings and the rain was beating down harder than ever."Faster Jumiyo!!
Yah boy!!!" They were gaining on them fast.He had been hoping for her to fall off but she was a good rider and the horse wasn?t spooking for anything.(crap shes fast....)
