Music guru...
I spent last night listening to Desparecidos and a little Bright Eyes, and then I listened to Tom Waits for about an hour (that's how long Rain Dogs is). It made me happy. Tom Waits is awesome.
What I really want is Son, Ambulance's Key. I wanted it for Christmas, but it's so hard to find unless you buy it online. Sadness. They're such a great band.
Tiny bottles of chilled water are excellent.
Oh! And the Black History Month thing was SUPERB! Oh man! I got so many compliments. Baron came into third and was like, "Susan! You kicked ass! I was in the back clapping and going 'yay Susan!' but then everyone was looking at me funny so I stopped." Then he painted a smiley face on my arm and kept saying "Painting on Susan" in this chibi voice. In the end, my arm up to the sleeve was blue and said "Carpet Burn" on my wrist. I promptly washed it off.
I love Baron. He's so awesome.
Well, later all.
Love, Susan

Well.....
Today is a good day. I get to read for the Black History Month thing. I'm representing Anne Braden and Virginia Durr. I really don't know much about them, but my teacher is the one who wanted me to be apart of it. I couldn't refuse. I didn't want her to be like, "There's that stupid white kid who wouldn't be in my show." And then fail me.
I HAVE to mail Caleb's letter today. I really meant to do it yesterday, but I got sidetracked and didn't think about it until seven at night.
I had a cool dream, but I can't remember it.
Man, I love the Cold Mountain Soundstrack. I got mad at the movie after I watched the ending. I only bought the sndtrk because Jack White sings five songs on it (I think it's 5?). And I love Jack White... like a little brother. lol.
If you don't listen to the White Stripes, that last comment won't be very funny to you. And you should be ashamed for not listening to them.
Give me a breath to breathe,
Susan

Current mood.
Well, my following, I don't think much of today. I had a dream last night. It was strange, but very cool. This guy I like was in it. Well, I don't know if I really like him or not. I just like to spend a lot of time with him...
I guess I like him.
I'm going to mail Caleb's letter today. Eventually. It's in my bag, sealed and stamped, ready to go. Now, I just have to get to the post office to drop it off.
The things I do to make others happy...
In the Black History Month assembly, I represent two caucasian women who risked their lives for civil rights. I get to hold up this protest sign and read a little statement. It's pretty cool. I get to practice during first and fourth block.

Good Golly Miss Molly!
Yay. I'm happy. My Hotmail inbox is stuffed. I only replied to Caleb's short email, though. I'm going to send him the valentine I made it art. I'm going to miss having it on my desk.
We got a boatload of snow over the weekend. It's almost all gone now. Sadness. I made a tiny 1 1\2 foot snow penguin. He's gone now. But he was cute.
I've started Jane Eyre now. (That should be italiced) It's prety good, but it's a lot of Old English. I'm having a bit of trouble with that.... said I. lol.

Nothing...
My mind is blank. And that's all I can say. I'll try to be more interesting next time.

Hello my lovelies!
I really want to go to Bonaroo now. Last year, Modest Mouse (and I think the Flaming Lips) played and I didn't get to go. (Bonaroo is this yearly musical festival in the little town of Manchester, TN, where all the cool bands play.) And Bright Eyes played here November 14th at the Ryman last year. And I didn't get to go. And now Wilco is playing in Knoxville and Lisa (my sis) is going to try and get us tickets to go. Then she'll come get me and we'll go see Wilco. I'm excited about that.
There's also this thing called Lalapolooza, but it gets canceled a lot. Modest Mouse played that too, but of course, it got canceled.
Okay, enough about music. (But, man, I really want to go to Bonaroo!) Or maybe not.
How do you write a letter to your biggest musical idol with whom you happen to have a huge crush on without coming off as a stalker? It's damn near impossible, I think.
Caleb hasn't emailed me lately. I'm kinda down about that. And neither has Will... Hmmm.

Cool.
Bright Eyes won Artist of the Year and Song of the Year (for "When the President Talks to God") at the PLUG Independent Music Awards. You can check out all of the winners at www.plugmusic.com. Eyeing a break from what is set to be a year of recording for Bright Eyes, the band also announced what will likely be their only US show in 2006: Bonnaroo. They will playing the festival in Manchester, TN on Friday, June 16.

Twenty-six is a good number for depressed Vodka-holics
Happy birthday, Conor!
I'm celebrating by wearing my Bright Eyes shirt, (eventually) listneing to one of his CDs, and emailing Caleb. Oh yeah. Join the party, ya'll.
I stayed after school yesterday with Martha to hear her sing. She sings beautifully, but she thinks I'm tone deaf, because she doesn't agree. But, she does sing very well. She really does. Then she took me home and we sat in her car in the driveway of my house talking for about 20 minutes. It was nice.
Maybe we can go somewhere sometime. I hope so.
I'm going to be in this Black History Month assembly at my school. My english teacher wants me to dress in costume with others and be someone influential to Black history. The only white person I could think of was Harriet Beecher Stowe. So, I'm going to be representing her, I guess. It'll still be fun.

I've been MIA!
Good to be back. The internet has long been away from my access. But, apparently, this is going to be a short post!
Happy Valentines Day, lovelies. Snag some extra kisses for me!
Conor turns 26 tomorrow! I'm happy about that!

Today...
I'm wearing these kiddie bracelets today. They look cool though. It's stuff that I had when I was a kid, too. And then on my other wrist, I have all those bracelets, like breast cancer and nike and such.
I really like bracelets.
I keep trying to send Caleb some of my art, but everytime I get around to it, I feel like it's crap and never send it.
Maybe I'm just paranoid.
