My answer to a Yahoo! Answers question
Question: Should I get a girl a Valentine's gift if we have had one official date? We have been friends for a while...
I have liked this girl for a long time, and it is looking like we may be moving our friendship possibly forward. Our first official date is tomorrow (Thursday), which begs the question: Should I get her a gift for V-day, and if so what kind is appropriate?
Answer: Yes. Definitely. If you've liked her for a long time, especially.
I have this guy I've really liked for three years now. We had an official date planned (didn't work out. My grandfather, who I love dearly, passed that morning), but anyway, this was after I had given him a handmade valentine (I'm an artist).
So, go for it. There's no better time than now, and there's no better gift than one from the heart.
Bloody brilliant.
