   I'm your villian.
I just watched “Dateline” with my mom and they were talking about My Space, which I really do think is the devil, no offense to anyone. Anything that allows people to access your phone number and address, even if you don’t know them is just asking for trouble. Well, it got me thinking. Would I want my mom to read the stuff I talk about on here? No, most likely, and for obvious reasons, too. That is why she won’t know about this, at least until I get it all edited.

I’m going to mail Mona’s letter today. It’ll be my first letter to a foreign country and my first letter to Germany at the same time. When Melanie goes back home in May, I’ll start writing her letters. Then I’ll be sending letters to Germany AND Taiwan. How awesome!

I’m really, REALLY going to miss Melanie. She’s one of my best friends, one of the few I look out for on a daily basis. I have a small community of best friends as school right now. The two main people in that group are Martha and Melanie, the two I feel the closest to. Martha has to work a lot and has a lot going on in her life right now, so, when we have to get a print off about something for our English class, I print off two and give one to her. And, for Melanie, the lunch lines are really long at my school due to the high student population (oh, about 2,000). So, I give her half my sandwich (a delish roast beef and cheddar or ham and Swiss) and a granola bar (when I have one) everyday.

I took the ACT on Saturday. Major drag. It’s a stupid test. But, after that, I came home, got some lunch, and went with my parents to see Jay Leno LIVE. It was so cool. I thought it was going to be like, “Okay. So, it’s Jay Leno on a little stage. I’ve seen Neil Diamond on a little stage. He was two inches tall.” But this was so much better. He was at least seven inches tall and so hilarious. It was just amazing. I was like, “Look. That’s Jay Leno. He’s 50 feet away from me. And I’m crying because I’m laughing so hard.”

“Lipscomb University and the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation presents Jay Leno live.” That’s what they were saying for months on WRVU Nashville (that’s really the only radio station I listen to. They always play music I like). Then my mom comes home with tickets she got from her work. And I had more fun than I’ve had since I went to Graceland with Lisa.

Then we went downtown to the Frist Center for the Arts (it was free admission day because of their 5th birthday). I got to see the “Lost Boys of Sudan” paintings, which were amazing. I think James Makuac is so talented. Then the African Art exhibit. It was very cool. Then, upstairs, Impressionist art. HEAVEN! I love Impressionist art. I felt like one of those over cultured art critics standing there in front of one of Childe Hassam’s paintings and telling my dad about how he wasn’t looking at a woman on a garden path, but little slivers of paint that give the illusion of the woman. I was kind of upset though They had two Monet’s and three Renoir’s, but not one single Degas painting. Is he not as famous as them? Hilliare-Germaine Degas will always be my favorite Impressionist.

Well, I’m not going to be posting any more story excerpts. It kind of draws off my site, I think. So, Michelle, if you really want to read it, I’m going to just send you the whole thing in your email, if that’s okay? I wish I had a kimono. *sobs* You see? That’s what makes you so cool. And that is why you were the first to be added to my friend’s list.

I love Nashville. I love life.
-Susan
