Ready. Steady. Go.
“Your arms can’t fit around the moon, and I slide right through. So, when we get to the moon, and you reach out for me, I’ll drift away like a jaded memory, right out of your life, forever.” – Self-Written Poetry

Yesterday, my English III honors class had a field trip to the downtown library. The best part was we got to wander around downtown for lunch. I know my way around, so I felt kind of like a tour guide.

Caroline: How do you get to the arcade?”
Me: Well, we take a right at the front door, go down three block, take a left, and then another left under the green awning.

But it was kind of weird and scary, too. We (Martha, Caroline, Jasmine, and myself) kept getting looks and winks from the Mexicans. (I know that’s no politically correct, but it’s true.) You just can’t seem to find any normal (as in the kind who are polite) cute guys downtown, except for the indie beatniks, but they’re too shy to look at you. Damn.

I love Nashville. There’s this great saying I once heard. “You can leave Tennessee, but Tennessee will never leave you.” And that’s true. Nashville will always be home to me. You can’t change where you were born.

Jessica showed me this new game you can play. You write down the name of the guy you like, your name, the month, date, day, and current relationship and then you play. It’s hard to explain unless you can see it, but it’s cool. So, I wrote down the guy I’ve liked for years (let’s call him “Thomas”) and my result was “Amor”, which is Spanish for love. And last month we did an online test during a break in class and it was this game call “Fortune Cookie.” The weirdest part is you write all the information down randomly. Well, it asked for two guys names. I wrote down “Thomas” and Baron. The number I wrote “Thomas” by meant that he’s the one I’m in love with. (Well, duh!) Then you write down some other stuff and then four song names. Well, the songs match up with the two guys and how you feel about life. The song that matched “Thomas” was “I’m the Man who Love You” by Wilco. I almost died. (Plus, that’s my favorite Wilco song and it makes me happy and teary (joyous tears) at the same time.)

The True Love Test for the two of us was 85%.

Something tells me that now is the time that the ball is in my court and to get that ball rolling. Now, all I need are the right words to make him understand just how I feel about him.

To the members of the Blank Generation, SAL-UTE!
(Wow! A Richard Hell and Hee Haw reference in the same sentence! How unexpected!)

More love than can fit in a glove,
Susan
