Finally
Hello.
First of all, sorry for the delay, and second… I AM GETTING A JOB @ OLD NAVY SOON (hopefully)! I know ya’ll were really rooting, not, for Kroger’s (fascists), but, HA! I’m working at a cooler place!
Other news: Melanie left June 3rd (which was also my dad’s birthday). She called me in the middle of the night from the LA airport, which was so amazingly sweet. And, yeah, I really, really miss her now (and I only cried a little bit after I hung up, well, maybe a little more than a little bit).
I started listening to Snow Patrol’s “Final Straw” again. It’s been at least a year. I really want their new album. I watched the video online, and *drools*. The music was so hot. And the video was so cool. And the guys…okay, they’re pretty cute, but, THAT’S NOT MY POINT! The music! Think about the music! And here I am still looking at a picture of Conor Oberst and thinking “Damn, he’s so hot it shouldn’t be legal.” But, YES, I have a deep love for his music, even when it’s whiny.
Oh, and I forgot to tell ya’ll. I went to the Tennessee Renaissance Festival… um… on Memorial Day, with my parents and Melanie. It was pretty neat. We got to see a joust. Our guy, Tristian whatever of whatever, got third place. And then they took of their helmets and they were all 40 to 50 something. Melanie said, “Aw. They’re all old.” I said, “Yeah, I was expecting them to be hot.” It was probably the best moment we’ve shared in our friendship yet, apart from the time she said, “For real?” (Because I say it all the time.) And then we saw some other people, some comedy acts, and then hung out in the “pub” watching the queen dance with a guy who, every now and then, would look like Johnny Depp (but not as much as this other guy). It was funny. Melanie and I were walking around towards the end and I said, “I keep thinking, ‘Don’t touch me. Don’t talk to me.’ (Referring here to the really creepy hardcore renaissance fans and merchants) And then this guy walked by who looked JUST like Johnny Depp. I smiled and said, “Except for him.” And Melanie laughed.
And, speaking of Johnny Depp, I’m currently wearing him on my shirt. So, yes, amazing. It’s a “Pirates of the Caribbean” shirt, and, yes, he’s hot.
I’ve realized that when I’m spending the whole day with my grandparents, my southern accent comes out pretty strong (because my granddaddy’s accent is definitely southern, for those of you who can recognize a real southern accent), but, most of the time, it’s not so bad. I mean I don’t sound like an obviously from the South gal.
Hopefully I’ll get back on here before another week has passed.
“One more potential lover” (Bright Eyes)
