• NANA (and pretty much anything by Ai Yazawa, but Paradise Kiss is a bit overrated and at times annoying), Fushigi Yugi, Hot Gimmick, Kare Kano, Mars, all that shojo jazz. And I do realize that all of these are manga. I prefer it to anime.

Edward Gorey is my favorite artist right now. He's evicted Edgar Degas (because of me, we have a print of his painting "Dancers at the Bar" in the hall upstairs). I'm doing my "project in the style of a famous artist" after Gorey. I get to all these panels in pen and ink of our subject, my teacher's green chair, in different scenes from Edward Gorey illustrations.

I'm so happy.

I've also started reading a book of his interviews. He's a genius! He doesn't even answer the right question, mainly because he hates interviews, but his responses are gold!

That is why I dedicate today's post to Edward St. James Gorey.
