Safe

In a bottle,
Sealed,
In a dungeon,
Chained,
Behind a door,
Locked,
Over a great wall,
Guarded,
The traps set,
The alarms on,
The defense mechanisms armed,
Closed in my world, concealed to all but my mind,
My emotions;
Fear, anger, hatred,
Happiness, joy, love,
They are safe,
I am safe,
I shall not be hurt.

What If?

As you look at me what do you see?
A girl of 16, confused as can be.
Her heart telling her to go, take a chance,
To jump in and join the big dance.
Her mind is mature, her heart is strong,
It is her childhood her parents wish to prolong.
They cling to tears and laughter of the past,
For them she has grown older too fast.
It seems only yesterday she would say,
“Mom, Dad what should I do today?”
Now all she does is shout,
“Bye, I’m going to hang out!”
The days just continue to dash by,
She is ready to try her wings, see if she can fly.
If she falls, she will come back to the nest,
They need to trust her, she has been taught by the best.
If she does not choose the right track,
She is young, she can turn abound and come back,
But if she is denied this choice, a defining moment in her life,
Her mind will be filled with strife,
And she will never forget, always living with “What if?”

The rain

Softly falling,
Gushing, dripping,
Pouring, slipping,
Off smooth surfaces, sliding,
And rough, winding,
I am the rain,
Your tears.
When the world is hurt,
God is sad and angered, crying,
I am his tears,
The rain.
I fall upon all of life,
Burdens are lightened,
And pain is washed away.
But when only you are sad, crying,
I fall, I feel your pain,
The agonies that torture your soul.
As I trickle slowly
I am filled with memories;
The good times,
The bad times,
The times you want desperately to forget,
The times that in you will live forever.
As these tears are falling,
The pain is diminished,
My job is done,
The burdens lifted.

Flight of A Little Bird

Tweet, tweet,
It is raining,
Mother, where have you gone?
I sit here on the railing,
Unsure,
My red breast, my dark wings,
They are new to this world.
Should I take the chance?
Should I fly home to the nest?
The rain is new to me too,
Falling hard and unforgiving.
My wings, they are weak,
This was our first flight.
Quickly I tired
And stopped for a rest,
Then unexpected these forceful droplets,
They started to fall.
I am scared,
But I am lonely and hungry,
I want to go home.
Her I go,
Into the rain,
I am going to try,
Try to fly.
It is raining.
Mother, I need your help,
Where are you mother?
I am sorry,
Goodbye,
Tweet.

Rainbows,

You never know what you may find at the end,
But you know this;
Rainbows are always perfect,
And if you don’t look, you’ll never know what you miss.

As they fade away,
Look into the haze,
You shall find the key,
To this never-ending maze.

Follow a rainbow,
Follow your dreams,
Colors, colors, colors,
Nothing is as it seems.

stars

When you wish upon a star,
You wish upon a sun,
For stars are really suns.
They shine of far away places,
Habitats of creatures unknown to mankind,
Living in many parallel universes,
Throughout the galaxy.
