Wake
this short song was created
near the end of the album
writing process. the dual-meaning
of the word "wake" seemed an
appropriate introduction to the record.
Given Up
to add a unique twist on the
punk/industrial theme of the
guitar, Brad added the sounds
on the intro of this song: multiple
tracks of claps - and keys jingling.
Leave Out All The Rest
the final version of this track
is virtually the same as the
first demo of the song. very
little changed between the first
incarnation of the music, and the
final version that appears on the album.
Shadow Of The Day
the keyboard loop in "shadow of
the day" went through many different
changes during the song's creation.
doozens of options were created on
piano, acoustic guitar, marimba,
xylophone, and even electric banjo
before finally writing the
reversed/editted keyboard version
that appears here.
What I've Done
one of the last songs finished
for the album, the lyrics for this
song were inteneded to work on many
levels, including freedom, art, and
death metaphors.
Hands Held High
early in the writing process, Rick
suggested the band experiment by
contrasting together unexpected
elements. because the instrumental
idea known as "song q" sounded primed
for melodic singing, Rick suggested
the opposite be done. the song's pipe
organ and marching snare proved the
perfect musical bed for two of the most
inspired verses Mike had ever delivered.
No More Sorrow
while the band was recording at the
laurel studio, Rick suggested that
Brad try adding ebow to "the little
things give you away." although Brad
ultimately decided not to add ebow to
that song, his experimentation prduced
the introductory sound around which "no
more sorrow" was built.
Valentine's Day
although it was finished at the
laurel studio, "valentine's day"
retains most of the original music
and vocals that were redorded during
the writing phase. in fact, although
the band experimented with re-recording
most of their early demos, the earliest
recordings were often chosento make
the album.
In Between
Rick encouraged the band to lay rough
vocals on their demos as early as
possible, believing that sometimes a
sparse song can become great with the
right vocal melody. "in between" was
a perfect example. even with just mike's
vocal and bass line, this song remained
on the band's "favorites" list, as many
songs woth alot more production were
voted off the album.
In Pieces
this song began as a keyboard and
beat loop, along with the staccato
guitar in the second verse. in the
early form, Chester put down a rough
vocal, with words that came realatively
effortlessly. the vocals that appeared
in those early stages remained virtually
unchanged throughout the growth of the song.
The Little Things Give you Away
this song began from a demo by Rob
Bourdon, based around the drum pattern
heard in the bridge. the vocals were
finished after the band visited New
Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.

it was also the first anime that i ever watched all the way through to the end...
and the first anime that ever made me cry out of grief and not from laughing too hard... [though tere were some hilariously funny times...
i am dedicating this weeks theme to spike spiegal... why? well if you are a cowboy bebop fan just as much as i am then you know, but for all of those who don't know [WARNING:SPIOLER] it's all because on the last episode it comes to a great close where spike dies.
it's not like all the other episode where you 'think' he died, but miraclously he lives... no... he actually goes to a better place...
spike is my all time favorite anime charecter and he deserved to live. i say him and faye would have been great together... [julia go suck a nut!] ah... but he had to go and kill vicious... ending his own life.
at least he left behind the greatest last words ever... "bang"
if there are any smokers or drinkers out there please give a small toast to this great guy and have one last puff or chug for him!
the act of fadeing away...
you know... evanescence is an awsome band, amy lee is so pretty and has a great vioce, but that's something that everyone knows about them. one thing that most peple don't know about them is actually what their name stands for... evanescence is the act of fading away. that's one of the things that made me get hooked to this band.
they have like 3 cds? i wish there were more, but they have fallen and the open door. my friend says that there's another cd... something like live form somewhere... >> i'm terrible at this stuff. even though i love evanescence i'm not so good at remembering all they've done. T-T it's rather pathetic... but enough about me, back to eveanescence. ^^

saiyuki! this weeks theme! XD
saiyuki is an anime that is about this priest, sanzo...
yes... he is that guy! XD now you see those scrolls floating all around him and stuff... he uses them as his weapon and he dosen't join into the fights unless he's needed. he tends to be lazy, smokes, and drinks though he is a priest. people look at him and think that he's all nice and full of virtue, just because of his title, but he really is a complete jackass. he is human unlike his three companions: goku, gojyo, and hakkai.
goku is this guy,
he loves food, just like goku from dbz. well he's upbeat and cheerful and always complains about being hungry. which actually helps the group to realize that an imposter isn't him. well goku is a earth demon and is called monkey by most of the group. he is probably the strongest out of all of them. he is 18, but was turned to stone or something for 500 years. he's really cool and probably my favorite charecter. and unlike most people in this world, he actually curses properly. [you should learn from him!] he's continually fighting with gojyo,
yes! the guy about to kill goku! ^^ he's a pervert and really good at poker. he drinks and smokes just like sanzo. he is a half demon and has 'red' hair and eyes. his hair looks more pink. he has a half brother named jin, who is full demon. gojyo is a water demon who sadly enough can't swim, which is funny, because in one of the episodes they all fall into a river and he starts freaking out until goku tells him to satnd up. ^^ well, people like to put gojyo and hakkai together as their yaoi couple.
this is hakkai, but this picture is kind of huge, but i guess it'll do. i had to make sure that i got a good one where his is wearing his one eye covering glasses. he tired to rip out his eye once, because he was gonna allow this guy to kill him because he killed 1000 demons from that clan. by killing those demons he himslef turned into a demon. he used to be a human married to his beautiful wife, but the demon clan kiddnapped her to sacrifice her and he stormed in to save her, killing all those demons, but when he got to her, she stole his knife and killed herself. now you see that dragon that is on hakkai's shoulders... he is... um... crap! i forgot the name, but he can turn into a jeep. which is how they travel around all the time.
alot of funny scenes are produced in the jeep scenes, where gojyo and goku usually fight.
i recommend anybody to go out and watch it. boys and girls can enjoy this. it's got action and fighting for the guys and jokes and some romance for the girls. no there is actually no yaoi in it, but people love to pair up the four. [[goku with sanzo and gojyo with hakkai]]
what are you waiting for? go watch the anime on youtube! ^^ they waiting for you! [[ avoid all the ones that say gunlock or reload... those ones are from he second series gunlock reload! ]]

it's been quite some time since i played the second kingdom hearts game, but it kicked ass! it was so much fun and i loved axel! why'd he have to die...? >< poor roxas having to be stuck with namine since axel's dead now! >< and yes i do support the axel and roxas paring! i should put up a piccy of them together! ^^ ha ha!
i have to put up more now! once i get started i can't stop and i just love this pairing. ^^ here's another one! ^^

gravitation
i've liked gravitation for a long time, but weather or not i have put it up as a theme has escaped my mind... T-T so i will do it now!

i'm scraping my last idea! ^^ i need something everyone likes... hm... nope can't think of anything! i know! i do something i like! ^^ it's a win win situation! now what to do... O.O hm... -.- i don't know! oh! \(^o^)/ i know! fake! it's an awsome yaoi about 2 guys who work to gether at the nypd! woot!
dee and ryo kissing! dee is the one on the left and ryo, obviously, is on the right! ^^ dee is bi and love ryo. dee gets jelous easily and has a hot temper, but he knows how to love. he takes food to orphans takeen care of by this nun. dee calls her penguin which is ironic because my friends nickname is penguin and we all swear she's never gonna get married! lol
their first kiss! and it was all dee's fault! ^^ i love dee he's so awsome! being bi means that's he's techniqally free game! but poor ryo is someone does take him!
