Guten Morgen
This year I'm doing a lot of walking. Walking to class in the mornings (sometimes), walking home after the morning class, walking home after the afternoon class, walking to work, and walking home in the evening. Due to the fact that I don't always have a CD player with me, I walk home in relative silence. Normally I enjoy listening to music whenever I get the chance, but I have come to discover that I prefer the silence because it gives me time to think. It's about a mile or so to my house from campus so I have plenty of time for thought and reflection. Sometime it's just pondering what's happened during the day, sometimes I'm "talking" to friends who aren't with me, and others I contemplate the more weightier questions of life.
Walking down blocks and blocks of sidewalk with no distractions gives a person ample time to do this. Most people don't walk by. Some cars pass. It can be quite relaxing at times, other times it's just a really long walk with a heavy pack.
There is a rose bush growing against a chain-link fence down the street I walk. There are also hibiscus and one or two other flowers at the same place, but I enjoy the tiny little roses. Their season is almost done but they're blooming for now. No matter what my feelings may be at the time that I go to pass them by I always find a pleasure in gently grasping a leaf and pulling them towards my face to catch the powdery scent of them. Even in a rush this doesn't take up any detrimental amount of time. Four seconds or so worth of time to take simple pleasure in my surroundings. I hate being in a rush. I'm one of those people who believes in waking up an hour earlier than I actually have to so I can take my time about doing something instead of feeling like I don't have enough time to accomplish anything. At that same time, I'm a horrible procrastinator.

I'm back
Read the new introduction if you haven't already.
Our computer is officially a POS. We are on the verge of buying a new one as soon as we find one that fits our budget and needs. Currently, because of the horridness of our computer, I can no longer check my e-mail off-line the way I used to. This means that I will be signing on to the internet more often. The benefit means that I will be stopping by here more often. However, I no longer have access to my address book so I can no longer keep in contact with certain friends unless they e-mail me first because I no longer have their information.
At this moment, I cannot take the time to read y'all's posts as I need to get school work done and find out what my assignments were. I should be back to making replies later this week or next.

Wow
I don't think my standing has ever been so low before. *chuckle* Oh well, whatever. Things are pretty much the way they always were here. Sam's still hanging out and being as obnoxious, philosophical, and helpful as usual. Fred's just reading in his room. If y'all are actually missing me (which I doubt) I should be coming on more once the semester starts again.

It's been awhile...
Holy moley! It's been over a month since I've last spoken to anybody! Sorry guys. I've been taking a comics class to get my much needed three points to maintain my scholarship for college. Oh my gosh, I now have a new found appreciation for comics creators and a new addiction for them. I've been doing a lot of stuff and am at my grandparents on the way home from D. C. Hopefully I'll be able to put forth a better post within the next day or so. Forgive the long absence. I'll be back soon. Cheers!

Sorry it's taken so long to get back
Well, I've started my Maymester class. Everyday of the week 'til the end of May I get to Study Comics!! *buwahahahahaa!*
So, whilst sisters are taking standized testing, I'm discussing Neil Gaiman's Sandman. Think of that: I'm getting college credit for reading and talking about my favorite comics! *HA!* And today, finishing up our comics documentary, I got to see (and hear!) Neil Gaiman!!!! ^_^ Sexysexysexysexy! Ooooh, I love him! Greatest writer of today! (Okay, I could continue to gross you out with my obsession with him, but I won't since I know that I'll be ranting about him again in the future). Oh, and for my final exam, I can write my own comic! *grins*
Other than class, nothing much has been happening. Part of why I haven't written anything. But I should be going to a BBQ and maybe to Charleston sometime before the end of the month, so maybe then I'll have something good to say.
Some of these are practically spot on, some have bit of spottiness, y'all figure 'em out for yourselves.

Sorry I haven't been around in a while
Right, so, that was the most memorable phrase (see subject line) said to me on Thursday at fencing. And it came from the least likely person ever. Those last three words I never expected to come out in sequence from this guy. The quiet, slightly serious one who laughs at our antics but doesn't contribute to them. But, thanks to that, I'm going to be called 'lesbian' for the next couple of months in fencing. Along with 'facist pig' whenever one guy wants a kiss. But that's another story.
I'm having trouble with the on-line banking crap and I need to hurry up and figure it out so that I can pay for my $897 (!!!!) Maymester course.
In other news:
The Aiken games were yesterday. *smirks* And it's not wise for a man to wear a sports kilt in the traditional manner on a very windy day. *snickers* As a friend of mine realized to his chagrin and our amusement. *hee hee hee*
Right. Back to figure out how to pay for my classes and crap. :P

Violence = Friendship
And you all keel over with a heart attack. *ha ha*
But seriously...
The reason why I have that as the title is for a revelation that I had this week. It's something that I've always known, but haven't really been aware of. I recently started talking with a guy, let's call him Dr. Jones (as in Indiana Jones), and the other day he lightly bopped me on the head with his notebook. This made me happy 'cause I knew that he concidered me his friend. Then I got to thinking, that that's pretty much how I know if any guy is comfortable in my pressence. They'll punch me on the shoulder, poke me, or bap me on the head with a notebook. ^_^ I guess I could try and go into the gender based reasons for this, but I'm too lazy. Anyways. Either that or guys never get out of the habit of throwing rocks at girls and pulling their hair. Although I have a suspicion that literally getting 'hit on' by a guy comes more as being seen as 'one of the guys' than as a possible romantic interest (which may be depressing to some, but not to me).
In other news: classes are almost over and I need to sign up for my next semester. Of all the addicting quizes I've been taking this morning, this is the only one I find worthy of posting, I suppose you could say that it slightly proves the theory that I think more like a guy than a girl (and yes, my sex is female [and yes, gender and sex denote two different things]).
Your Brain is 46.67% Female, 53.33% Male |
Your brain is a healthy mix of male and female
You are both sensitive and savvy
Rational and reasonable, you tend to keep level headed
But you also tend to wear your heart on your sleeve |
Cheers mates. Have a good week. 'Til next time...

Sin City and Tartan Fest
Oh My Gosh!! Last week (Sunday) I went and saw Sin City with my friend Dr. Jones! It so totally rocks! The cinematography is absolutely amazing. Red hightops! And these absolutely beautiful cars (and I don't give a rip about cars, but these babies were absolutely gorgeous). Lots of graphic violence and good looking chic in skimpy clothing (these would be the prostitutes). Oooh, but it was spectacular. 'Course, the company was pretty good, too. Dr. Jones (friend of mine in my anthropology and marine science class who wants to be an archeologist) is one of the best conversationalists ever. And he's an awesome story teller who does all the hand motions and the voices!
Anyways, today was the Tartan Fest at the State Museum. We had a pretty good crowd this year. And we did Balgeddie Reel! My absolute favorite. I danced in a guy's position, which is sorta cool 'cause I get to be all awesome during the first two bars. I also got this wicked dagger before I left. Clips on my belt and is oh-so-nice. Mostly decorative, but that blood groove lets everybody know it wasn't made for skinning rabbits.
Currently I'm babysitting and using their computer. The eldest is looking over my shoulder and keeps trying to tell me what to write *chortle* Well, going to watch CSI: Miami now.

*la*
Sam - *loudly* "Irish is a moron!!"
Irish - *pegs Sam with a Koosh ball*
Sam - *giggles*
Ignore the Guardian giggling on the couch.
Right! Time for everybody's favorite update: Window Pane Thought! *bum-bum-Bum!*
Sam - "What ever happened to the 'Month' part?"
Irish - "Well, I haven't actually been putting up a new one every month now, have I?"
Sam - "Ah."
Window Pane Thought:
Dance through life with vigor.
-Nobody
In other news: I made a 99 on my philosophy essay!
Sam - "Didn't you mention that last time?"
Irish - *shrugs* "Well, it's still making me happy, so it doesn't matter."
Sam - *rolls eyes*
Today is advisement for me. I'm going to try to get a Maymester course so I can keep my schedule, and of course get everything ready for next semester.
Good morning all! Off to write an e-mail or two!

*MAJOR SPAZ HAPPINESS*
Irish's cup of happiness runneth over. Hi there, Sam again. Irish is currently on a major spaz trip a the moment that she's basically dancing in circles and sputtering gibberish in her glee.
Why is she so happy you might ask. Good question. Well, as you know, she is a major Labyrinth fan and her favorite fan fiction author has finally put out the first book to her last Labyrinth novel! (Labyrinth IV: Raven's Feather). So she has now obtained the first book which includes David Bowie lyrics and much other greatness.
For any of y'all interested the website is:

(just copy and paste it)
Okay, off to annoy her while she's in class. Talk to all you happy Otakus laters.
