Before heading into work
Figured I may as well give a quick update on my life at the moment. Classes are very intense, but I'm loving them. I get to see more of Batman this semester, so it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. My work hours are down to practically to nil, which isn't good on my wallet but it is good as far as my stress level is concerned (esp. with school work taken into account). I finished writing out some character information and a very, Very basic outline for a story idea. It's Sam and Fred's story, finally, and they're not the major characters *sigh* But Sam doesn't seem to mind, I think it's cause I got the story (as far as he's concerned) pretty much figured out, and Fred plays a larger role. I'm working on some character sketches now, I haven't been drawing in what seems like forever and it tells. But I think that before I work on that that I should finish up at least another chapter of the Laby story. It's kinda hard since I've changed so much and what I want the characters to do now I can't have them do because it wouldn't fit. Oh well, my goal for 2008 is to finish it up, maybe start on the sequel. Time will tell. Okay, time to go to work. Hope everyone had a good start to the year.

PETA is evil
Mepkim Abbey is so cool. I have only had a chance to visit once so far but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Abbey is the residence of Benedictine and Trappist monks. The Benedictines raise chickens for eggs which they sell all around Charleston. PETA has pretty much shut them down, they're phasing out of the eggs because PETA will not leave them alone (PETA gives more reasons as to why they're doing this if you want to visit their site, and I don't think they have enough cause to harrass monks). This is the final straw for me. I don't think I've heard anything that PETA has done in the past several years that I haven't thought they needed to just drop. Causing monks to stop extending hospitality to those in need because of harrassment from PETA is the final straw. I have lost what little respect I had for them.

Last Day of Christmas
Huzzah for the Epiphany! Well, just cleaned my stuff from under the tree and now have to make room on my bookshelves ^_^ My Sandman collection is now complete! Well, except for the all the extra stuff. I've enjoyed my week off and I'm sad that things are starting up again this week *sigh* Well, not school wise yet but I am going back to work, I'm really glad that this year we got to have a week off to celebrate the season with family and friends. I've had a great time hanging out with Batman and sleeping in. I've also gotten a little bit of writing done, although I haven't worked on my Laby fanfic. I suppose that I'll have to crack down on that within the next couple of weeks, I'm hoping that this year I'll finish it. Although I think I will eventually have to go in and write a sequel. But in the meanwhile I'm going to continue working on my original fiction. I'm really excited about this semester: I have three religion courses and two philosophy courses. Hopefully, I'll be able to stay on top of my course load without too much trouble and then in May *trumpet sounds* I'm graduating! Now all I have to do is apply for grad school and take that bloody GRE *sigh* Damn thing. Alright, I think that that's it for now. I hope that everyone has had a Merry Christmas and that the New Year has started out great.

Merry Christmas Everyone! ^_^
Well, I hope that everyone has had a great Christmas (although it's technically not over until 6 January). Christmas was pretty good with me, December is another story though. I've been sick pretty much every week this month and even this week I've been down with a fever *argh!* It's really annoying, but hopefully it'll all be behind me once January gets here. I finally got my grades in and I'm happy to announce that I've received 3 As, 1 B+, and 1 B ^_^ Now I just have to make sure that I study as hard and stay on top of things next semester. I'm looking forward to my May graduation. I'm also going to start applying to grad schools as soon as I'm done taking the GRE (*sigh* and I had thought that standardized testing stopped with high school, how disappointing).
In other news: I've recently discovered Marmalade Boy. I'm really enjoying it, a friend of mine from church is letting me borrow the anime and the manga, which is pretty much the only way it's available in English now: borrowing from friends who already have it. Oh, and my parents got me the one TP I needed for Sandman and so now that comic collection is completed *yay*

Cheers!

writer's month!
Yup, to all you writers and aspiring writers this is the month to sit down and write those 25,000 words! Why? Just 'cause. No prize, just the satisfaction of having written something. I'm actually trying to work on my writing this month, so hopefully I'll get some of that done (on top of all the papers and studying that I have to do for class). Everyone wish me luck for when I take the GRE. Batman, I like your new avi and the mountains in the background of your site ^_^ Gotta go now.

*happy hum*
So, I'm just taking a quick break from working on a paper. Just got a really fun comment *whee* May either check out that person's site either today or near future. Depends on how slowly my computer is at loading pages. Need to get back to writing my paper, but wanted everyone to know that I'm still all honkey-dorey. Rudolph Otto is cool, although this paper is turning out to be slightly more difficult than I thought it would be. Must mean that I need to get back to working on it then. *chuckles*

caught up to July
Yea! I finally got around to reading Neil Gaiman's blogs again. I've gotten through June and July. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll get to read August and September. I also try to keep up to date on Karen Moning's page, and as soon as I'm good with Neil's I'm going to start up another one: Jim Butcher. Peck tells me that it's a really fun site, so I can't wait to add another author to my list. (I would love to include Robin McKinley in this list, but I have not noticed that she has updated her site at all, at all *sigh*). I guess you could say that reading all of Neil's and Maddy's (his daughter who took over the Web Elf job at some point) posts has inspired me to get back into the groove. We'll see how true this is in the coming days. As it is, I now need to get back to studying for my classes. Need to read to read up on Otto and my Old Testament religion text. (I should probably also read some philosophy, but the religion is more important at the moment). Alright, catch you guys later.

&*^^%#$@ city people!
Day of the midterm, and I get woken up nearly an hour early because the city decided that 7:30 would be a wonderful time to turn a stump outside my window into mulch >_<* *grrr* Needless to say, I was not a happy camper this morning.
The day's gotten better since then, though. I think I did pretty well on my mid-term. I got my mid-term from sociology back (96) and got my paper back from my existentialism class (A). My philosophy seminar was cancelled, so I'm home early, able to chill for a bit on the computer before working on some papers for my phil. of linguistics course. Tonight I get to go hang out with Batman, go to dance, and watch House. Life is good.

another day, another dollar
(Not quite, 'cause I didn't work today ... that's tomorrow).
College is going alright so far. Next week I have several papers due. I haven't worked on them yet, I've been busy trying to download and e-mail pictures since I've been home. In fact, up until this very moment (technically, the moment I started writing "download") I had completely forgotten that I had some clothes in the dryer. Oh dear. Anyway, things are going pretty well. My sister seems to be doing alright in the dorms. I'll be seeing her again on Sunday ^_^ I just wanted to post something on day when I was feeling good and *la* Talk later.

*crying*
Why? Cur mei, cur mei?
I'm being charged $2,500 for my semester and no one can tell me why! Nor have I been able to find out whether or not I have my scholarship anymore! On the bright side, the school has finally recognized that I did actually go to classes last semster.
*practically weeping* I just want to get my daggum scholarship and pay for classes!
*too distraught to make a good sign off*
