Black Ballad (A Young One's Song)

I'll try to sing a song for you
And this is how it goes
I'll sing of how the daisies talk
And where the red wind blows

I'll sing of why the ravens call
And why the night is black
I'll sing to you of how time flies
And how to wind it back

I'll sing of how the mountains cry
And why they sit so still
I'll sing of how the roses bleed
And walk about at will

I'll sing of sprites and willow trees
Dancing during noon
I'll sing of wolves and demon eyes
Watching by the moon

I'll sing of when the sky is gray
But, oh, so lovely, dear
I'll sing of walking on for miles
And ending up right here

I'll sing of rain from darkened skies
And fog from barren hills

And calming winter chills
