Back to the basics...
This is about Rurouni Kenshin, so if you haven't watched it yet, I don't want to spoil it for you. Don't read unless you already know Kenshin or don't if I spoil it. Prepare yourselves for a long one…
I was wondering around you tube, looking at Seta Soujiro amv's, when I came across this particular one called Kenshin and Soujiro. I was waiting for it to load, so I decided to read the comments below the video. It seems people still can't decide who would win between Soujiro and Kenshin. Then, reading further, they were bringing in Shishio and a victor for both. Now, everyone has there own opinion on what the outcomes would be, considering the fact that our decisions are swayed by who we like the most. For example: if you really liked Sanosuke, say you think he’s your fav., then you could probably come up with a situation where Sanosuke could beat pretty much anyone. Get what I’m saying? So, the only person in the world who would truly know who would win between any of the Kenshin Characters is the creator himself, Nobuhiro Watsuki. But, since I don’t have that luxury (though I would like very much to meet him someday), for the sake of arguing, let’s…argue, shall we?
Ok… to start off the discussion with Himura Kenshin vs. Soujiro Seta. Now, I’m a huge Soujiro fan, so I’ll do my best to keep it fair for the rest of the characters. Let’s give Kenshin some props for getting all the way to Soujiro for one. He had to go through a lot to get there, so naturally he’s not at full strength for the fight. One could also argue that if he were in his olden-days Hitokiri Battousai mindset, he would be even stronger, as he would not hold back from killing his opponent. Personally, I’ll give Kenshin the not full strength one, but not the Hitokiri one. Kenshin chose his path of salvation; it’s his decision to limit himself, where as I’m sure if he were given the chance he wouldn’t fight tons of people before fighting Soujiro. Now we have a look at Seta. He did not have to fight anyone before Kenshin that day. He was at full strength at the begging of their match. So, right at the moment, you could say Soujiro has an unfair advantage. During the match, and everyone knows this is true, Soujiro was kicking Kenshin’s ass. He was toying with Kenshin, as he was not using his full power (always one, two, or three steps away). Kenshin was unable to read Soujiro’s mind as he had shown no emotion. Kenshin saw that he would have to go about defeating Seta by another method. He talked to Soujiro. Basically asking him how he had come to his strong belief of “The strong survive and the weak perish.” This brought back bad memories for Seta. It slowly took hold of his mind, driving him insane. Seta could not understand it. He took a moment to clear his head, but honestly it was not even close to clear. This brought Seta’s skill way down. He claimed that he would use his full Shukuchi, but he was now showing emotion as a result of Kenshin’s words and Soujiro’s memories. The both took a battoujutsu stance. And Kenshin’s Amakakeru Ryu No Hirameki defeated Seta. So… I believe them to be evenly matched at full strength.
Next up, Himura Kenshin vs. Makoto Shishio. Granted Kenshin is majorly injured before finally reaching Shishio. But, on the other hand, Shishio does have like 7th degree burns (yes, I’m exaggerating) all over his body, must be hard to have kids ^^x. So… I’d say right there, they are even. Now… even with the “help” of Sanosuke and Aoshi, Kenshin was no match for Shishio. I believe that, at full strength, Shishio would easily win. The only reason he lost was his 15 min. limit (in which he burst in flames afterward). Kenshin got really lucky in my opinion.
Another big one, Himura Kenshin vs. Yukishiro Enishi. Wow…I could talk for days about this one. Honestly, the whole new step thing in the end with his Amakakeru Ryu No Hirameki, was ridiculus. And it was thrown aside by Enishi’s Frenzied Nerves. Oh, and the air stride is bad ass too. Totally cheap win by Kenshin. The hidden Hiten Mitsurugi move Ryumeisen, dragon’s roar, …lame. But… Kenshin’s victory non-the-less.
There are a lot more that I could talk about, but this post is already really long so… if you want to discuss these with me, or other fights like Sano vs. Kenshin, Saito vs. Kenshin., the new Yahiko vs. anyone (sweet new look btw yahiko), or hell Hiko Seijiro vs. Dr. Gensai for all I care, just PM me. ^^x
