Hello Everyone! Ah well it's been another amazing week full of nonesense and buckets full of manga and anime! ^^ I hope everyone's been doing really well. I think I got to just about everyone's site, sorry if I missed anyone. I tried! ^^ Let's see what have I been doing this week...lots actually but none of it really that interesting. Though I did have a really nice shopping spree this weekend. Ended up with about 100 dollars worth of manga to entertain myself with. Yeah I know I'm crazy but actually that's pretty normal for me. Not necessarily to spend on manga but to spend at Borders. Yeah I spend way too much in bookstores. My library takes up most of my room, so that's always fun. It's cute though I dragged my roomie along with me since I'm still using the cane and he was cracking up because I just kept piling books into his arms to carry along behind me throughout the store. LoL Poor guy, he looked like one of those husbands following their wives clothes shopping trips! ^^
Let's see if I can even remember what I bought, hmm the latest of D.Grayman, berserk, Black Cat, Vampire Knights, Samurai Deeper Kyo and some groups batches of Whistle, Demon Diary, Vampire Games, Prince of Tennis and Vagabond. Yeah I have really varied tastes don't I? LoL All of those are really great series by the way I highly recommend them! ^^
Oh I added some new wallpapers recently, some of you have already discovered them and commented. I thank you very much for those by the way! I really appreciate comments. They give me warm fuzzy feelings inside and make want to make even more goodies! So thank you very much! Ok the new wallpapers I made three from the series Air, two from Samurai Deeper Kyo, one from Vampire Knight, one from Eyeshield 21, and two more from Ghost Hunt. See I told you I was busy this week. Hehehe Feel free to check them out if you'd like! I think they're pretty but I'm biased. LoL
Well with the arrival of the winter season that means new animes series from Japan and I'm quite pleased with some of the new ones airing. Surprising there seemed to be some really quite unique and entertaining shows this round. Including two that I'm very interested in seeing more of; Claymore and Seirei no Moribito. Both of these series star a female lead character who is not only smart and strong but just plain interesting. It's so rare lately to find a female character who doesn't pale in comparision to most of the male characters around her that I'm just thrilled about these two. Claymore is actually one of my fave mangas and I'm absolutely thrilled at how the anime is following the book and bringing to life Clare and Raki.
Claymore summary: The setting of Claymore's story is a fictional world with medieval technology. In this world, humans coexist with creatures called Yoma, sentient monsters that feed on human innards. The Yoma, being shape-changers, can take on human form and live in disguise amongst humans. By consuming the humans' brains, Yoma can also absorb their memories, allowing them to disguise themselves as specific people without alerting any of their close friends or family. A nameless and highly secretive organization has created an order of superhuman warriors to protect humans from the Yoma. These warriors are called Claymores, named after their immense claymore swords. Villages being attacked by Yoma hire Claymores to kill the Yoma for a large fee. Despite saving humans on a regular basis, Claymores are often alienated from and feared by humans due to their incredible powers, their relation to Yomas, and generally aloof attitudes. Humans will often call them "silver-eyed witches" or "monsters". The story of Claymore follows the adventures of the Claymore warrior Clare and the young human boy who follows her named Raki.
Seirei no Moribito or Guardian of the Sacred Spirit follows the story of a woman named Balsa. Balsa is a yojimbo (bodyguard) and a spear user of amazing prowess. When returning to her hometown after a two years away Balsa sees and accident involving the second prince of the Emperor. She saves the boy and leaves immediately afterwards, but word of her skills reaches the ears of the boys mother. She is summoned to the palace and asked to assume the role of the boy's bodyguard. She's told that the accident was no accident and in fact the boy's father has ordered his exucution as the prince has been possessed by a water fiend. Agreeing to the risk she takes possession of the boy and flees from the palace, leading to a journey to protect the boy from his enemies and save him from the possession as well.
So far only four episodes of both shows have aired, but I'm quite interested in seeing how the shows progress through the rest of the series! Oh as always if you're interested click on the pictures above to see the larger version of them. ^^ I do so love taking screen captures. LoL
Oh yes I almost forgot but Driffter tagged me so I'd better put my listing down here as well. Five unique things about me.

3. I volunteer for a Search and Rescue group that does Sea and Mountain rescues in the Seattle area, but occasionally we're loaned out for natural disasters around the rest of the States.
4. I attended college in Minnesota and received by Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Lit and Classical Studies.
