Chapter 12

"Think really hard, what did they have that we don't?" Aki and Suki were sitting in the living room. They were blankly starring at the TV as they pondered what there parents had that they were missing. "Our mission is to blend in and gather information, then move out when one year is left until the Bloodshed war is upon us." Suki said. Aki said, "Suki, i know. Believe me when i say this. It is impossible to ignore the prophet for that long, the message stuck, and you dont have to remind me every 3 seconds!!!" Aki was starting to yell, and he realized that he was hurting Suki's feelings. He saw her stifle a cry, and he walked over to her. He put his arms around him and whispered, "I'm sorry sweety, can you forgive me? I didn't mean to raise my voice like that. Its just that i hate the thought of having to act like an Unclean for 12 years. This is going to suck, and you know it. Here we are, the 2 most powerful beings next to God himself, and yet we are stuck babysitting this trash heap of a planet." Aki massaged Suki's shoulders. Suki took a deep breath and was no longer feeling like crying. Aki was always good at calming her down. He hummed a little tune while he did it, and she melted into his arms. Once she sat up, Aki always knew that she was relaxed then. Aki turned on the T.V. for the background noise. She then straightened up, and then said, almost like a whisper, "Job." She was starring blankly at the T.V. and she tilted Aki's head towards it. They were looking at a news report on how the unemployment rate was growing, and how people were now out in the streets because they no longer could afford their house. Aki said, "Well, people who are kicked out of their house are put on the news. We dont want that, we want to stay as inconspicuous as possible. So i guess we have to get a job, like a normal Mother and Father would do." Suki looked appalled. "Work?????? With the Unclean????? Never!!!!!!!!!" She was the one screaming at the top of her lungs, and Aki was scared. Suki only screamed when she really wanted to be heard, or when she was very mad. Aki stood up, grabbed Suki, and sat her down again. Aki looked into her beautiful green eyes, those deep emerald eyes. He loved those eyes, and they always let him see the kindness in her, no matter what mood she was in. She looked up at him, and there they laid, starring into each others eyes. She took a deep breath and said, "I will find a job, but there is no way either of us will be able to work with the Unclean. It would drive us crazy, and then some." Aki thought about it, then sighed. "Your right sweety, but what can we do? We need a job." Suki sat up straight, and said, "I GOT IT!" Aki was startled, then said, "What is it?" Suki then said, "I love animals! I could work as a vet! All i would have to do is find someone who is already a vet, make sure they have no family left, and "Kindly" ask them to give me their drivers licence, and their social security code, and whatever else i need. I would have to find someone fresh out of collage though..." Suki was in deep thought when Aki said, "Ahem! What about me? I dont like animals as much as you..." Suki thought, then said, "No, but you like kids right? And their not old enough to be considered Unclean! Why don't you apply to be a daycare person! No, an even better idea! You start you own! Ya, we will call it "Aki's PlayCare!" She was in deep thought again, but Aki wasnt mad. He liked the thought that they were not going to have to work with Unclean people. He was willing to pay a little money to do it too! He walked over, picked up a pile of dirt, and formed it into one thousand twenty bills. He then walked into the back room, the room Suki and him had said no one was to use, and it was to put anything secretive. Anything that would tip off someone else that they were Clean. He took off a stack of twenties and handed them to Suki, and said, "Here, this is the currency they use here. Try to bribe the person of their information first. Maybe a little more would work then..." He turned the twenties into one thousands. "That ought to do it!" He smiled at his handy work. He then said, "Im going to go find a place within walking distance of here to start a daycare. Wish me luck! Oh and by the way, theres a medical collage right down the way, you should start there!" Suki nodded, and Aki closed the door behind him.
