The Lon Lon Abattoir.

I mentioned E3 a couple of posts ago, and I also mentioned that I'd talk about N-Sider a little bit more.

Actually, this post really has two subjects. The first relates to a slight redesign of N-Sider that I'm going to be doing. It's not a redesign so much in terms of raw aesthetics...it's more a redesign in terms of improving navigation throughout the site. Cory and I (Cory is the Site Manager) are working on it together, so that should be fun.

Today was also my first opportunity to talk to Cory post-E3. That was great. We had a good discussion about Nintendo DS and various other stuff that was shown. The N-Sider E3 DVD is going to be very cool this year. I'd buy one myself if PayPal worked with local savings accounts. ~_^

In any case, I'm really encouraging the site's management to get in gear and organize various procedures a little better. It's a long story, but things are running a bit too inefficiently right now. Cory and I are going to go through a step-by-step process to address every issue. The end result should be an even happier site, I think.

Talking about efficiency, I've been discussing a change relating to OB with Charles today. I don't want to mention it here just yet, because it still has to be discussed by staff. I'll probably talk about it here in the near future.

OtakuBoards is hopefully going to be the recipient of some cool upgrades too, as soon as I'm able to get a few things pushed off my plate to actually work on 'em. One of the more significant new OB updates has been ready and waiting for a while, but it requires a coinciding design change to accommodate it. Hopefully that can be sorted out soon.

On another note, I've been talking a lot about RPGs lately. Yesterday I was talking to Desbreko-san about Zelda RPGs. We both pretty much concluded that there have been quite a few of them over the years, created by various people. But we also both agreed that, instead of making seperate Zelda RPGs, we should all get together and make one large uber-Zelda RPG. Something that really brings together the talents of those creating it. I think it's an interesting idea. But I know that my time will be booked up for a while, with Kill Adam 2 and so on.

I also mentioned an RPG idea to Debbie, something that I've been thinking of doing for a while. But really, I haven't actually sat down and started writing it.

The idea essentially revolves around Zelda itself, or should I say, my own interpretation of Zelda. The story would be different from what you see in the Zelda games -- primarily, various elements of Zelda would be borrowed and used in the story.

The idea is basically to do a very dark and adult version of Zelda. So, I said to Des, maybe fairies are not benevolent and cute creatures. Maybe they're violent creatures that prey on people who get lost in the forest. And maybe Lon Lon Ranch could be turned into an abattoir, rather than a ranch. See what I mean?

The idea is actually semi-inspired by American McGee's Alice. You know, like a mirror image on the original story. Again, I'm thinking of what would happen if you combined Kill Bill and Zelda with Silent Hill or something, at least in terms of style.

Anyway, I don't know if anyone has an interest in doing something like that. I understand that it's quite a big stretch in some regards. But I find it oddly intriguing, even as a big Zelda fan (especially as a big Zelda fan). Maybe you can give me your thoughts.

I look good on you.

Phew, Wednesday is always draining. I have two computer classes on Wednesday; Digital Publishing and Introduction to Multimedia.

Neither class is particularly difficult, but the sheer act of being on the computer all day is a bit much. When I'm at home on the computer, I am often not literally sitting here staring at the screen the entire time. I take frequent breaks and I often find myself getting into conversations with people around the house -- which is why I'm sometimes a bit slow to respond. ~_^

I just find that I feel extra tired when I get home on Wednesday. It's great that I have Thursdays off though. But tomorrow I have some investigating to do, regarding a current project.

The project essentially involves creating a small booklet or bound-object of your own, using your own stock and content. Of course, you are expected to do research on binding and bind it yourself. You're also expected to actually create your composition using Adobe InDesign, and then have everything printed to industry-standard specifications (ie: you have to ensure that everything could be mass-printed in industry).

So, it's not really a difficult project, it's just a bit time consuming in terms of going out there and getting all the right stock that I want.

Originally I had wanted to take my first story on The Reanimatrix (Caine's Awakening) and print up a small book containing it. However, we're supposed to have around six pages or so...and based on the style of book I want to do, my story simply won't fit.

Instead, I am going to make a little booklet that includes various samples of my digital art. This may include anything from OtakuBoards banners/avatars I've made, to photography, to logos, parts of site layouts, etc...

I thought it'd be nice, because I could focus on making the book beautifully tactile; the web is nice, but there's nothing like flipping through a colourful book with a variety of high quality stock. You can buy some amazing stock from various publishing houses -- I know of a paper company north of Melbourne who specializes in thousands of varieties of paper.

One type (my personal current favourite) is called "sticky paper". It's sort of thick, and almost furry. And when you touch it, it feels kind of sticky. But it's not actually sticky. It leaves nothing on your hand and it doesn't actually stick to anything. It just...feels sticky. It's an odd thing, but I love it. It's so unique.

Gah, getting excited over paper of all things. Next I'll need to buy a berret.

...no, I'm not doing that badly just yet. Ahem.

I am thinking of using some of the elements in my current myOtaku in this book. In particular, I am really keen on the whole red/yellow/grey/black combination right now. So I'd love to actually use this type of style throughout the booklet. Hopefully I can take some photos of the booklet when it's finished, to show you guys on here.

Despite the fact that schoolwork is as nasty as it's ever been, I think I've been getting my online mojo back lately. Perhaps it's just the fact that I've been tinkering with myOtaku a bit, I'm not sure. On that note, do you like my current myOtaku style? It's not as safe or welcoming as the indigo style, but I guess that's the whole point. It feels like it suits me more than the purple one anyway. I redid the avatar, to include my logo on my little Samurai's armor; I felt I should have my logo somewhere on here afterall. ~_^

Hopefully this weekend I can get stuck into that myOtaku.com main page again, too. I'm eager to get that coming out right. But I have to discuss it with Adam first, and I haven't really seen much of him this week. It's a bit unusual for me not to speak to him regularly, so I hope we can catch up tomorrow.

Anyway, this post is getting way too long. So I'll end it here. I guess the good thing about it being myOtaku, is that I can ramble as much as I like about anything and you guys don't have to read it. It's nice to get my thoughts out there, even if it's boring the pants off all of you. ~_^

Stealthy rhythm.

Phew, that took longer than expected. I decided to modify my layout again, because I felt that purple was a cop-out. Sure, it was nice...but it was too safe. You guys know that I like to use yellow, because so few do. ~_^

The post background that I'm using now is one of my ideas for a possible Kill Adam 2 post background. As you can see, simply based on this, KA2 will at least look nastier than the first.

On on that note, the very last chapter of Volume 1 has been put up. Josh/Shy is writing this one, so it should be great.

I also noticed, upon browsing myOtaku pages, that Kei-chan (Lady Katana) is preparing a new Zelda RPG. That should be pretty special, considering that I'm a fan of Kei's writing. I remember her posts in my old Zelda RPG (Sword of Fate, I think it was called -- I must search for it and read it again sometime). They, like all of the posts in there, were awesome. I miss that RPG. I will always think of Nerdsy as a Goron with red text as a result of it...

On that note, I urge you to visit Lady Katana's myOtaku page. Why? Because I said so.

Apart from Kei's overall coolness as an OBer (and myOtaku...er), you will find some awesome artwork for Solo's Enter the Net story in Kei's archives. Enter the Net is great (in case you haven't read it -- shame on you) and Kei's artwork is also pretty cool. It's scary to see an anime version of myself! ^_^;

That's all for now. When you hear the beep, do your thing.

Threesomes are fun.

If you've read the latest post in Kill Adam, you'll know what I'm referring to. ~_^

On that note, I will be putting up the final chapter tomorrow. Josh has requested that it be a kind of continuation of the current chapter. That's fine with me; it will mean that Arianna's death is just that bit more special. ~_^

On a totally unrelated note, what's with all the complaints I've read about the backroom's new colours? Sure, it struck me as a bit surprising when I first went there, but the purple is a lot more welcoming than the dark grey/black. When you begin complaining about backroom colours, surely you realize that life is actually pretty darn good. I just thought I'd throw that out there, for no particular reason (I don't rant enough, how's that?)

I finally saw The Last Samurai on DVD today. Very good movie. I can see why all of those Japanophiles would love it (the ones who are incredibly big fans of Japan, but who seemingly know very little about it outside anime). Apart from the Japanese aspect, it was simply a good movie. But like Mimmi, I felt uncomfortable with the relationship between Taka and Tom Cruise's character (I don't remember his name right now). It felt forced, don't you agree? I mean, the guy killed her husband. And sure, he apologized and she accepted. But to then go to the next step and say that they fell in love? C'mon. I just don't find that realistic. It almost ruined the story for me, because it was like "oh here we go, the token love story". I am sick of the token love story. The fact that he developed a love and admiration for the Samurai culture and Japan as a whole was plenty for me -- why not leave it at that? *shrug*

And so, in order to end this post in the same way that it began, I'll ask you a simple question.

If you could choose two OBers to have a threesome with, who would they be?

(And by threesome, I am talking about three people playing cards around a table...yeah.)

Swim to the other shore...

There are a few things to talk about in this post, so I think I'll just seperate all of 'em. ~_^

RPGs: There are some cool RPGs that have only just launched, which I think you should check out. Firstly there's The Singers, by Domon. Generally I feel that Domon's RPGs (especially his Resident Evil ones) seem a little rushed. But this one has a nice idea behind it. I also like the different "character class" names...it's clever.

There's also Skedy's 2024, which looks to be part of a series of RPGs. I wish Skedy the best of luck with that, because I think it's a unique idea. It's great to see stories that branch across multiple RPGs.

And I hope that Alex's Spirited Away RPG begins soon. It will be interesting to see how that goes.

In terms of my own RPGs, I'm still waiting on Shy to post in Kill Adam's first volume. He has two posts to go, technically. As soon as they are done, Volume 1 will end and Volume 2 will begin. I haven't heard from Shy much in recent times, so I hope he's okay and not too busy. I sent him a PM, but received no reply yet.

On another note...I have had this RPG idea that will not leave me alone. I've spoken to Alex about it briefly, but I found it very hard to really put the idea into words. I've had lots of thoughts about it, and it refuses to give up. So...I feel that if I don't pursue it, I may miss something potentially incredible.

If you really want to know what it's like, I would say that it's a combination of Kill Bill and Harry Potter. Erm, but that's still very vague...and it still doesn't come close to describing it.

In any case, it will be my next big thing, once the Kill Adam RPGs are completely finished. So watch out for it, won't you? ~_^

E3: I'm still pouring over the information for E3, particularly the non-Nintendo stuff (since I already spent hours and hours looking over the Nintendo stuff lol).

All in all, it was a good E3 for Nintendo. First and foremost, IGN got bitchslapped. And that was nice. I'm so tired of their naysaying and "expert" analysis on Nintendo.

Despite what they may tell you, they don't know the game business. And they know it a hell of a lot less than Nintendo. Their "GameCube online" article was, to a large degree, a joke. It rehashed concepts that had been brought about in a whole myriad of locations before. And it seemed to me that it was little more than IGN having another whine at Nintendo. If IGN don't yet understand why Nintendo aren't online, they never will. I think they probably do understand, but they are selfishly insisting that Nintendo is wrong. Wrong in their eyes, sure. But anyway, that's a subject for another time.

But primarily, the reason that various people were given an almighty bitch slap, is the DS. Not only did the DS demonstrate some unarguably cool software at E3, but the developer sentiment was truly extatic. DS is the next Virtual Boy? Give me a break, ye of little faith.

The most bittersweet moment of E3 for me was the unveiling of the new Zelda.

Why was it bittersweet? Well, on the one hand, it felt to me as though Nintendo was giving the crybabies what they wanted. You know what I mean?

All of those people who now say "OMG! Nintendo FINALLY gives us a mature Zelda!!" annoy the absolute hell out of me.

They annoy me because they are the same people who fundamentally misunderstood The Wind Waker at the very beginning. They are the ones who said that Miyamoto was senile for suggesting cel shading.

It's almost as though Nintendo has buckled under pressure from a segment of the gaming population who are, for all intents and purposes, painfully ignorant. Not only ignorant, but totally unwilling to experiment with new ideas -- these are the people who are encouraging developers and publishers to stick with "safe" ideas, which itself further contributes to a creative stagnation within the industry.

And then we hear these same people say "it hasn't changed enough, it's the same old thing", when Nintendo does something to directly please them. It's really annoying.

The nice part of it is simply that the game looks so gorgeous. Nobody can deny that. Not only does it look great on a visual level, but the whole thing is intriguing. I am interested to hear who the game's new director is (not Miyamoto or Aonuma) and I'm interested to hear more about the plotline, which seems to be suitably dark from the tidbits I've heard.

There's a lot more to say about E3...but I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportunity to sound off, either on N-Sider or OB.

More RPGs: Oh, I nearly forgot. I've been talking to CrH about his new RPG...and I must say, I'm pretty impressed by what he's come up with. I agreed to help him with the graphics and stuff for it. So that should be pretty interesting.

RPG collaboration is great, when it works. If anyone else is ever interested in collaboration with me, please feel free to ask. All of my collaborations have been really good fun (especially Maverick Hunters).

That's all for now...I think. ~_^

Cool autumn day.

I'm feeling more relaxed than usual today. Last night I finally finished everything that I had to do for N-Sider (graphics-wise anyway). This is a big load off my shoulders. There was a lot of stuff to do. Most of it will be added after E3, I assume.

On that note, Cory (the Site Manager) wants to make some structural changes to the layout after E3. So that could potentially be a pretty big deal. He's already sent me some of his ideas, which are pretty good. So although it means more work for me, it's not something that should be too intensive.

The funny thing about N-Sider is that in some ways I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't.

If you look at the main page (the URL is www.n-sider.com), you'll see three large cells toward the top. The first two relate to the current Cover Story and the latest big N-Data update.

Generally, it was understood that whenever someone requires a new icon for one of these cells, they'd approach me with a request. This way, we can ensure that all of the site's graphics have a similar feel. So even if the images are different all the time, they can use some common colours and things like that.

However, on various occasions, people will just go ahead and put up images without approaching me first. This can be frustrating, because quite often, the images they're using are being put together by one of the writers, who may or may not be able to make things gel.

If you look at the icons underneath, at the bottom (for the regular site updates), you can see that they were all designed by someone else. It's not a matter of whether they "look bad" in and of themselves, it's more a question of them not necessarily matching the site's overall design.

And then if you look at the Columns area on the right (with all the heart icons), you can probably see that those are all my designs (including the N-Banter icon). There are only two types of column on there at the moment, but all of the column icons still "match". Know what I mean?

This has led me to wonder if I'm being realistic here, or if I'm just a control freak.

In some ways I think the latter can't be possible, because there are times where I'm more than happy -- eager, in fact -- to have someone else take control of something. And this is usually because they may posess skills that I don't. So I feel that, naturally, they can do a better job at it.

I know that my designs skills aren't the best out there. There's no question in my mind about that. But still, I was asked to design N-Sider and I was asked to be responsible for update icons. To me, it always seems jarring when someone else's icon goes up -- because I can immediately tell that it doesn't fit the site, as such. And I feel that if I can tell, the readers probably can too.

But then again, right now, even with the top three icons...only one is mine (the N-Universe one on the right). The other two are technically fine. But yeah, it's just that consistency thing again.

I feel like I actually get almost disturbed if things aren't consistent. Isn't that weird? lol.

Anyway, that's my rambly update for today. I never really talk about N-Sider here, so I thought I'd give you a little insight into my other online love.

I've had some interesting experiences with N-Sider, come to think of it. Perhaps I should talk about them in my next update.

Yes, it really is a Hattori Hanzo sword.

I urge everyone to read Tori's latest post in Kill Adam: Volume 1. It's very cool. I'm just hoping that I can do justice to Arianna, by writing an interesting fight. Who knows how it'll go. I only know that it'll be very bloody. ~_^

Some people have been asking me about Kill Adam: Volume 2 and how the sign-ups will work.

Put simply, I am going to create a few new characters, who will fit into the overall story. I'll create some basic traits for these characters (elements to their history and so on), which will be non-changeable. However, the rest will be blank; it'll be up to members to personalize the character in their own way by filling in these blanks.

And then, the "version" of the character that I like the most will be accepted into the RPG. That's basically how it'll work. It'll be like the bidding system that I plan to use for The Matrix Revelations.

In regard to who the characters are, I haven't determined exactly how many I'm going to add yet.

But I can tell you that one of them will be Hattori Hanzo the 101st. I'd actually planned to add him as a cameo character in the first volume, but I think I would really like to add him as a more significant character in Volume 2.

To those of you who didn't make it into the first volume (and if you didn't sign-up), do you plan to have a crack at Volume 2? I definitely can't wait to see people's interpretations of these character "templates" that I put out.

Otakuites' adventures.

You may have seen me post updates about RPGs on OtakuBoards before. I enjoyed pointing out the RPGs that I feel are worthy of a read, or that are at least doing something interesting or unique. So, I thought I'd take this opportunity to mention a number of currently-active RPGs that you guys should check out, should you have a little time to kill somewhere along the line. ~_^

The Legend of Zelda: Prophecy of Fate
Created by Zidargh

There have been a couple of Zelda RPGs lately, but I believe that Zidargh's is probably the most well written in recent memory.

The first post really introduces you to the story in a nice way; it eases you in, with a combination of fairly sharp writing and a little humor. It feels lighthearted but serious at the same time. I also like Zidargh's use of dialogue, I think it's pretty fitting.

Zidargh managed to get some pretty significant OB heavyweights into this RPG, so that alone makes it worth a look. So far, everyone seems to be hitting their stride with the story and characters. Good job.

Laeth E'Thae
Created by Arcadia

This RPG has become something of a star on OtakuBoards -- and rightfully so. I've mentioned it before, but I feel I should mention it again. It's definitely worthy of your time, as a reader.

I have admittedly fallen behind in my reading for this RPG, but I was looking at it today, and I realized that I must get back into it. Put simply, it is beautifully written. The world has a tangible feel about it, as a result of the participants' cohesion and focus. Beautiful descriptions play a big role here(some of the buildings described in the RPG sound truly spectacular; they managed to create some pretty vivid imagery in my mind's eye).

Characters also play a role. Specifically, I find the dialogue to be very good here. This is one area that often lets an RPG down for me -- the discussions between characters feel unnatural or forced. In general, this isn't a problem in Laeth E'Thae. Things come across smoothly, as they should. Go read it.

Digimon: Original Digidestined
Created by Blanko

There are a few reasons why this RPG stands out for me. First and foremost, it's big. These days, it can be difficult to establish an RPG's footprint in Adventure Arena. That is, a lot of RPGs die well before their time. I'm sure that any of us who have created more than one RPG know this all too well.

It is also true that cetain topics lend themselves to certain levels of post quality. For example, I've rarely seen a well-written Dragon Ball RPG in Adventure Arena. Not to say that there aren't any, but on balance, they're hard to find.

On the other hand, Digimon has a fine tradition at OB. Although I pretty much know nothing about the series, I am completely aware of the various (wonderful) fan fictions (Tamers v2?) as well as some of the better RPGs.

Original Digidestined is worthy of a mention both because of the commitment from its participants, as well as the fact that it's quite well written in general. Many of the participants are relatively new, in terms of their RPing career on OB. So to see them make such a good start is fantastic. This is the sort of thing I notice, and it helps me to choose people in my own RPGs.

There are more RPGs that are worthy of note...but I don't feel like I can type anymore. Perhaps, if you have a suggestion, you could put links in my comment box? If you've seen something that you really enjoyed reading (but that I've not mentioned -- and I'm sure there are plenty), feel free to make comments about 'em. It's great to recognize RPGs, especially those created by people who often aren't recognized as they should be.

EDIT: I did write two paragraphs on .hack//TRUTH, but for some reason, myOtaku simply ignored one of the paragraphs and it wouldn't show up. I have no idea why. So...go visit the RPG anyway. ~_^

EDIT 2: My Kill Adam 2 wallpaper was accepted to theOtaku.com. You can click the link below to check it out, if you're interested. ~_^

iPods away!

Well, I'm finally using my iPod. It took two weeks, but it's worth it.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I had to buy a special USB/Firewire Dock connector from Apple. And I think I mentioned that I'd write a mini-review of the iPod on here -- if you are considering one, maybe my comments will help you out. Afterall, it's a lot of money to spend and it'd suck to waste that much money on something that you don't really want.

When I first opened the iPod's packaging, I simply noticed how well presented everything was. I mean, you even open up the "cube" that it comes in and you come across a flap with the words "Designed by Apple in California" printed across it. Everything is beautifully simple and elegant; why haven't Dell and other computer makers taken the hint here? I'm amazed that nobody else has the guts to produce products that not only function well, but that look like pieces of modern art. Maybe the general populace is a bit too conservative to get the message though. Who knows.

In terms of how it actually works, I was a bit daunted by iTunes at first, if only because it tends to do a few things by itself -- like reorganizing your music libraries.

But this is simple enough to get around. You can choose to do it manually.

I've been using a really simple method for putting music on the iPod. I just put a disc in, click "Import", copy the MP3s to the iPod...and then delete them from my hard drive.

Technically, I guess you're supposed to just copy all your music to MP3 and leave it on your computer, so that your iPod can automatically synchronize. But even that kind of annoys me -- I don't want my iPod to do anything without having received instructions from me first.

As it turns out, the "manual" route is still very quick and easy. And the iTunes CD database is very good; every track gets named, every album and artist gets named...and when you actually go to select songs on the iPod, you can sort under all sorts of categories. So in the end, it's very organized and useful, without requiring a lot of attention from the user.

In any case, I had heard some complaints about iPod. In particular, there was the complaint that the sound quality wasn't amazing -- and not as good as other players.

The truth is, I can't compare it to other players, because I've never used an MP3 player before.

However, I can say that questions about iPod's sound quality have been just a little exaggerated. I can definitely believe that there are players with better sound quality out there -- iPod is great, but definitely not the very best. I think that can be said with certainty.

However, it must also be said that the standard iPod speakers aren't that great.

In general, I am pretty choosy when it comes to sound quality -- I have about four or five different pairs of headphones/earphones, all of which were reasonably expensive. And I bought them all because I couldn't find ones that I felt were really comfortable and high quality. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who have paid a lot more attention to sound than I have, but I think I am probably more concerned about sound quality than the average person.

But with different headphones, the iPod sounds noticeably better. I think 50% of the problem is definitely related to the standard Apple earphones.

In terms of memory...I've put something in the region of 16 full discs on there, and it's taken up less than 2GB. So I'm not worried about memory space; those 16 discs might represent maybe 15 or 20% of my CD collection. So I feel that I can comfortably fit everything on here, with room to spare. And that's nice.

I also bought some fairly thick rubber skins for the iPod...because frankly, I'm paranoid about it getting damaged. That mirror-like rear face is so prone to scratching and finger marks. It's actually just a little annoying, despite the fact that it looks wonderful.

In general, I'm very impressed. Sound quality is just fine, transfer of songs is incredibly quick and easy (USB 2.0+ is pretty darn fast, much faster than I was led to believe) and the unit itself is insanely easy to use. I really love the touch wheel too; at first it was a bit tricky, but once you get used to it, it feels very intuitive and natural. It's a well designed machine, in every respect.

The only truly negative issue about it would have to be the battery. Apple apparently downgraded the battery from Lithium Polymer to Lithium Ion -- the latter is apparently cheaper and features much less longevity.

In some ways I haven't really noticed it yet, because I've only just started using the iPod at home. And I can recharge it at school using Firewire anyway. The good thing, I guess, is that you can easily recharge and listen to music at the same time. So if I use it at home, I always have it plugged in.

Looking back on this, I realize that my review has been little more than a ramble. lol

Oh well. I think that's partly because iPod has been out for a while and there have been so many reviews -- if you've thought of getting one, you have no doubt read all the reviews anyway.

But as someone who had read a lot of negative things, and as someone who cares about music quality, I can tell you that you need not be too worried. As long as you have some of your own headphones/earphones for the iPod, you'll be fine.

EDIT: Has anyone else noticed that the belt, stitching and pockets on Elle Driver's costume are drawn on with a black marker? Take a look at the photo below. I noticed this last night when taking screenshots for Torisuki. Cool, isn't it?

Indigo dreams.

Well, I decided to spend a little time tinkering around with the page. And this is what I've come up with so far.

Actually, I have to admit, I don't really like it very much; maybe marginally better than my old layout. I might actually invest some serious time over the weekend to come up with a style that I truly like.

In any case, it's nice to have a change. I guess this will do for now.

The background that I'm using on this post was actually originally intended to be used as one of the backgrounds for Kill Adam: Volume 2. I produced about six or seven colour variations for members to use, since people wanted to use their own in the first RPG.

However, I think I'm going to use something a bit more gritty for Volume 2's post background. It should be cool; I might post a preview of it up here or something.

Also, you may notice that I'm now number four in the rankings on myOtaku. Today I asked Adam to manually cut my visitor numbers by 2,000. I did this because I wanted to give others an opportunity to "be number one". Obviously, I only became number one because I had the most people visiting my page. But now that myOtaku has taken off and various other people have some pretty prominent pages, I think it's reasonable to push myself down in the list a little.
