   Slightly Updated
Ahh, better. I've updated the look of the site a little bit. Do you like my new Mario theme? ~_^

Eh, the top image is a bit screwed. The white background is showing a bit, and that annoys me. Oh well. I'll fix it later.

I have to admit, I am completely obsessed with Mario. It still saddens me to think that ShineGet.com didn't get off the ground. When I think about it, the site could probably have launched without too much trouble. Desbreko had contributed a lot of great stuff, so the walkthrough was almost done. And the image galleries were almost ready, too.

Oh well. I probably shouldn't have taken the project on, because it's something I really didn't have a great deal of time for. I mean, next month, I'll be spending the majority of my time working on OBv7. So...that doesn't leave time for much else. But toward the end of the year, I'll have a lot more time I think.

The whole lack of time thing also annoys me because of the fact that I have lots of ideas -- ideas that I want to turn into reality. In particular, I have a lot of thoughts about new web-related projects. ShineGet.com was really a personal passion thing...I've always, always wanted to make a great Mario site. Something that looks bright and welcoming (and isn't puncutated by annoying midi backgrounds and terrible graphics). You know, something that Nintendo itself might do. I even spoke to Charles Martinet about doing some unique voice samples for the site, but it's difficult for him because he has to gain approval from Golin Harris, Nintendo of America's PR firm. Bleh. Still, he was at least enthusiastic about the idea. It would have been possible to give him some kind of involvement with it...maybe an interview or something like that. *shrug*

Oh well. You never know. Maybe one day I'll be able to do something interesting like that. The main problem is that I've never been able to find a really strong php-based programmer to work with me. Finding programmers is very difficult, especially if they're very skilled. Although both Tony and Desbreko were able to do their own coding, and Tony helped me with a lot of things in the early stages. So I'm thankful for that.

In any case, my desire to do something new and unique might be perfect in terms of OtakuBoards. Some of you already know about a few things I'm planning, and it's definitely true to say that everything will be quite different; a big step forward in every respect.

And on that note, it's interesting to see that OtakuBoards seems to be picking up again in terms of "high post quality" contributors. We've got quite a few good discussions going in Otaku Lounge at the moment, for example. I hope that if nothing else, v7 inspires people about the site again. I hope that people want to really get involved in all the new things we're doing. It's always good.

Anyway. That's enough rambling from me for today.
